"What’s this place about? The blocky A'DAM Tower, located directly across from Centraal Station on the other side of the IJ River, greets visitors arriving in Amsterdam by train. The original structure, designed by architect Arthur Stall, opened as the headquarters of Royal Dutch Shell in 1971. After undergoing a renovation, it now houses a mix of offices and trendy bars, restaurants, and a hotel. It anchors the vibrant redevelopment of Amsterdam-Noord. After gaining entrance to the rooftop deck of this 22-story tower, pay just 5 euros extra to swing from the edge. What’s it like being there? Spirit-lifting awe. What, or who, do you think it’s best for? A must for thrill-seekers, or just those that love a fabulous view." - Meredith Bethune

This is an amazing place to visit in Amsterdam. It's also a little scary if you choose the addition of the swing and are terrified of heights. But I had to go for it because the experience was fantastic. To get to the A'dam tower we used the ferry which was a great way to start the adventure. We were able to buy tickets at the door and headed to the lift. We were treated to a light show and then we were dropped off at the bar. We climbed the stairs to the top and looked around. It was cold but we could see for miles. Then it was time for the swing. The views from it were spectacular, when I managed to open my eyes. My wife is fine with heights and really enjoyed it. After the swing finished I needed a beer so we headed down to the bar and relaxed. Definitely a great place to visit.

We had an amazing time here! We bought tickets that included the swing, a burger meal, and a free drink, and it was so worth it. The swing over Amsterdam at sunset was so scenic and beautiful, although I wouldn't recommend to those who are scared of heights! The rooftop bar is also pretty decent, with a nice view, although not mind-blowing in quality in food or drinks. We did like the oysters though.

Pricey? Absolutely. But definitely worth it: - The best view of Amsterdam - An unforgettable Swing Ride that takes you over the edge of the building - Infact the tallest swing in Europe - A genuinely awesome and incredibly realistic feeling VR ride that takes you around a lovingly recreated, realistic version of the city without you having to leave your seat - the movement of said seat was so realistic when paired with the visuals I genuinely found myself getting a bit scared at times! - interesting history of the building to read about - insanely detailed and high-zoom telescopes that let you spy on anyone in the entire city…

Me and the Dudes finally set a date to go out together. We checked a few place descriptions and chose this one. The place is great and there are a few activities you can take part in. They took a theme picture for us which we could download from the site. The lift was awesome too. The view from the top was great and they have cards around the ledge at the top so you can see which direction/area you are looking towards. Only thing I felt it lacked was food. There was drink but no food. It was an enjoyable time up there.....maybe next time I will be brave enough to go on the swings !!! 🤣🤣🤣

My wife wanted to go on her birthday and dragged me along. It was amazing experience and she made me go on the swing 😭. It wasn't really that bad. It was a fun experience and would highly recommend. we got the burger swing combo and went to the restaurant after the swing for our burger which was the best burger we've ever had. The bar is pricey but when you're on holiday, why not?

We planned our visit in advance purchasing entry, swing, VR tickets with the burger & drink deal added on. This was our first time at A'DAM tower and it was amazing! The swing was fantastic as was the VR. There are not enough words to explain how much we all enjoyed ourselves. It was absolutely unbelievable. Value for money and inexplicably beautiful views from the top. Well worth a visit!

I had a really good time here and you can really see how much attention was given here for the little things. You get to see amazing views of the entire Amsterdam area which you can really see only from here. There is a restaurant overlooking the views, and magnifying goggles that provide further information about things in the distance. At the roof you have a cafe and drinks and comfortable places to sit and see the views comfortably and relax.

We had a really good time here. The views from the top are amazing at night perfect sunset. The swing is definitely fun and exciting worth adding onto your booking. They also have a bar on the roof were you can just sit and relax, have a beer or cocktail and enjoy the beautiful view of Amsterdam. Staff were all friendly really worth visiting. Highly recommend 😁💜

Yelp
I had a great time taking the free ferry to A'dam Tower. The views of the city from the top were fantastic, and I got some memorable photos. I was able to enter for free after a certain time, which was a nice bonus. It's definitely a fun place to visit!

Yelp
It wasn't the highlight of my trip to Amsterdam but if you have free time it's worth checking out. The swing was scarier than I expected it to be. We went on a cold winter Sunday night and it was empty. I recommend taking the ferry there.

Yelp
This was a nice experience with good views but it's one of those places that you really only need to go once. There wasn't much of a line when we got there to enter. We had prebought entry tickets from Viator (more value for the Premium tickets that includes a little souvenir as well as the entry and digital memory) but had to pay €5 extra for the "over the edge" swing. It's a short little time of swinging out at the top but it's worth it for the experience. And again, wouldn't need to do it again. Once you go upstairs after ticketing, you get in line for you digital memory aka take two photos in front of a green screen on a beam. They do one of you properly sitting there and another fun one aka you hanging on for dear life etc. The elevator ride up to the viewing desk is an experience as well with a light show of sorts. Then your out enjoying the view! The swing required a little wait time that was disclosed when we bought our ticket so we were prepared. The staff at the swing could be more friendly but it was a cold and busy day, so I understand them just getting on with work. They don't take pictures or videos for you there so most just asked whoever was behind them. The tower itself isn't just a viewing platform, there's an indoor area, a restaurant and other little things inside. We didn't explore anything else since we had other plans afterwards but did look at the indoor educational side of things with the building model and history of building Amsterdam which was really nice.

Yelp
Do the swings! You get an almost 360 view of a lot of Amsterdam. You also get photos that you can download online for free. Amsterdam tends to rain a lot and we got lucky it did not during my visit.

Yelp
I was in town visiting from Los Angeles and after hearing so many wonderful reviews of the A'DAM tower, I could not wait to see it. After touring the building, and going to a fun dance party in the boiler room, my friends and I were in awe of the place!! The new A'DAM tower is a masterpiece! It's so creative and beautifully designed! It has everything you could want in a building. A rotating restaurant, club, offices, hotel, another classy restaurant, and a roof deck with breath taking views of Amsterdam! It's fun, hip, cool, and so exciting for all ages. There is something for everyone. I had an amazing time visiting one of the restaurants and hanging out on the rooftop lookout. I cannot wait to go back and bring all my friends!!! Thank you A'DAM for showing us such an amazing time! We'll be back again soon.

Yelp
Gorgeous restaurant on the 20th floor! My friends and I enjoyed a bottle of wine and spectacular views. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. There is simply nothing like eating a fantastic meal while watching the sun set around you- I 100% recommend this place.

Yelp
When waiting to view the city from the top of the tower we encountered many avoidable obstacles. We accidentally waisted at least 15 minutes of our time because we were waiting in a line to vote! There was not proper signage separating the voting residents from the tourist. We also thought it was very ridiculous that we had to share our whacky elevator ride with these poor residents just trying to do their civil duty to vote before returning to their day jobs. Other than that very pleasant time will be returning.
