Ada’s has really good food in a nice setting! We sat outside and enjoyed the well heated patio with great ambiance. The sand dabs were nicely cooked in butter and capers. Nice portion! We also had steamed clams in yummy broth. There sourdough bread rolls are good and paired wonderfully with the clam chowder! Read pudding was delicious and huge enough for 2 people. We sat at the bar to avoid the 35-minute wait for a table. It was the best decision. The bartender was our server and he did an excellent job. I enjoyed so much just by watching him working. The food was so tasty and fresh! We will definitely come back if we are by the area.

Ada’s Fish House. Best Seafood Pasta & Lobster Roll in Pismo Beach with Sunset Views & Dog Friendly Patio We had such a pleasant, relaxed dinner at Ada’s Fish House in Pismo Beach the kind of evening that reminds you why coastal dining hits differently. We arrived just before 6 PM, which turned out to be perfect timing. Within 15 minutes the restaurant was completely full and a waiting line started forming outside. That alone says something. We were seated at a high two-top near the bar, directly facing one of the large front windows overlooking the main street. In the evening light, it comes with a beautiful sunset view simple, warm and very California. The space is well designed: tables for couples, larger sections for groups of four or more, and a spacious outdoor patio that’s dog-friendly (always a bonus in Pismo). Clean, inviting, and comfortable. Service started immediately with warm rolls and butter, plus refreshing club sodas with lime. We ordered the Seafood Pasta, and honestly it was outstanding. Fresh seafood, perfectly cooked pasta, wrapped in a creamy sauce that wasn’t too heavy and wasn’t too thin. Balanced, flavorful, and easily one of their signature dishes. We also had the Lobster Roll sandwich with fries, which is a must. Generous lobster, soft toasted roll, and crispy fries on the side simple and satisfying. To drink: a chilled skinny margarita, fresh and smooth. The staff is attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming. Restrooms are available for guests. Parking is easy either outside or along the street. There are still several dishes on the menu we’re already planning to try next time we’re back in Pismo. Highly recommended for seafood lovers looking for quality, atmosphere, and great service.

This is a really nice spot for a meal. I had the fish & chips and my husband had the shrimp. The fish & chips were not that good because the breading on the fish was soggy and greasy. The shrimp entrée was delicious and cooked perfectly. The shrimp were large and plated quite nicely. We shared fried calamari, which was very good. Service was very good. The waitress was friendly and informative. She checked on us without being intrusive. There is a parking lot and we arrived early enough to get street parking in front of the restaurant.

The girl who greeted us when we walked in and seated us was very friendly and had one the biggest smiles making us feel welcome. There were plenty of tables which started filling up shortly after we got there. The ambience is great with a good view wherever you sit. The restrooms look brand new or newly remodeled and were super clean as was raw entire restaurant for that matter. All staff worked well together and provided great servi ce. Now onto the food. Absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. We ordered the fresh fish as well as the fish and chips. Had sweet potato fries, squash, and green beans for the sides. We also went thru 2 baskets of their sourdough bread. The flavor of everything was fantastic. This will be one of our must visits whenever we are in the area again.

The best seafood restaurant in Pismo beach, hands down! Great service, atmosphere and ambiance. Price was decent. My favorite was the Oysters Rockefeller! Definitely worth a visit if you love seafood and when you're in Pismo Beach!

This is one of the best fish houses around! Great food, service and atmosphere. Try the award winning chowder. I picked this one out of 22 choices at the Pismo Beach Clam Chowder Festival 2025.

While visiting Pismo Beach, I was told by a local that the clam chowder was award-winning. It was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had! I paired the soup with the “side salad” and added chicken. I was again impressed by how their simple salad was above and beyond other restaurants “side salad“. On top of all this, the service was amazing and I had two people making sure I was well taken care of. This restaurant is not near the beach. No ocean view. But it is well worth the five minute walk from the beach. I will for sure be returning to this restaurant next time I visit.

Got the roast chicken, a bit dry, but what do you expect from a fish house? As decent as I expected. Steam mussel were good and worth. we ordered the kid's pasta to accompany- a perfect hack! Veggies were comprised of only zucchini, go easy on the black pepper. I imagine all the seafood dishes are all good. Will go back when I visit Pismo next time.

She checked on us without being intrusive. The restaurant is casual but still nice enough for a more formal celebration. There is a parking lot. We arrived early enough to get street parking in front of the restaurant.

We went for lunch and ordered lobster&mac&cheese, shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, and kids menu. Alexis was friendly and quick about service. Clam chowder was very good and i love it. Shrimp cocktail sauce was fantastic. Mac&cheese was too thick and felt too much cheese i think. In total $92 including tips.

Solid, cozy restaurant with some very tasty seafood options. Appreciated the nice wine by the glass and half bottle options. Tried the New England style clam chowder and it was delicious with plenty of clams. The fish and chips were a very reasonably priced and tasty option. I've seen some comments that it wasn't seasoned (=salty) enough but I disagree. I appreciated that it wasn't drowned in salt and I could taste the fresh cod and crispy coating. The fries were also excellent. The hit of the night however, was the cioppino. Loaded with seafood and a very tasty tomato broth that was light and not heavy on any unnecessary herbs. Too full for dessert. Our server was cheerful, efficient and helpful. Cozy indoor seating and ambience on a chilly night. Nothing pretentious and we loved all we ate. Really enjoyed dinner here and decent prices.

Saw the reviews, thought it was worth a try and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was relaxed and cozy inside. We sat at the patio and it was warm and comfie. We had the fried calamari (great!), seafood pasta (superb), clam chowder(fantastic) and fish tacos (good). If you are in the area, stop by. Its definitely worth a try.

We arrived to Pismo Beach one late Sunday summer afternoon, and our very first meal for the family trip was Ada's...Boy, was that a mistake! Because it was the BEST dining experience, and everything else the rest of the week paled in comparison lol Our party of 7 arrived around 5pm and somehow got seated immediately. A party must have just left, but I would recommend getting reservations. Patio seating was perfect with the soft sunshine. We went crazy on the menu, ordering the cioppino, lobster mac and cheese, seafood pasta, mystic oysters, and my personal favorite - the crispy, caramelized delicious brussel sprouts with bacon bits (A-Maz-ing!) Our hosts and servers were all kind and helpful people. With the phenomenal food, service, and the beach within walking distance, we couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you for the great memories, Ada's!

Did an early walk in on a Monday, seated right away and was helped by friendly staff. The restaurant is interesting. Its a mix/hybrid between casual and fancy. Considering for the vibe theyre going for, the food is decently priced (ranging from $20 to $50). Absolutely loved everything we ordered from here. Clam chowder, crab cakes, seafood pasta, and fish&chips. Honestly, everything was better than expected. Their portions are great for sharing except for the crab cakes which were tiny. The dishes are slightly garlic heavy in my opinion but delicious regardless. Service is quick and our waitor was wonderful. They have a small parking lot for themselves which is quite nice. By the time we left around 7pm, it was a full house. Well worth the visit.

We went here last night for dinner, around 4:30pm. It was not very busy, perfect. At around 5pm we left, and that's when it started to get pretty busy. We got sat down by the window, and a kind lady came to give us 3 ice waters. Then another lady came to order our food, her name was Ella. I ordered the raw Oysters on the Half (6) as a starter, as well as the Brussel sprouts. The oysters were pretty fresh and delicious, the Brussel sprouts had crispy bacon, goat cheese, balsamic glaze, and a dried sweet berry. They went so well together, I would want to just order a few servings of them next time. For our entrees, we got the New York strip steak, which came with assorted Italian squash, chimichurri, and for my side I asked for sweet potato fries. My grandma got the Sand Dabs fish, it came with Italian squash, capers, a couple green olives, and brown rice for the side. My mother got the seafood pasta, it was a mild-spicy tomato pasta with scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, and fish (I'm pretty sure). We also got complimentary bread and butter. Everything came faster than I thought. And wow, was mind blown. Everything tasted immaculate. I asked for the sand dabs to be lightly salted, since my grandma can't handle a lot of salt, and she said it was perfect. My steak was a good medium rare and seasoned well, my only complaint was maybe change up the chimichurri recipe. I would recommend adding less vinegar, since I also make my own chimichurri, theirs was super sour. It was still good in terms of flavor, but I felt like it was incinerating my throat. My mom's seafood pasta was good, but I would say, as someone with a pretty good spice tolerance. I could feel the spice more than the actual flavor of the pasta. In conclusion, I would come here again if I ever visit again. The waitresses were incredibly nice and caring, since we had a bad dining experience prior to coming here. The ambiance, was nice. At first the lights were dim, only lighting some tables. Then as the night went on and the sky got darker, they turned on more lights that made it cozy. They also had a little Christmas tree outside! It was an amazing experience, thank you. :)

The hubs and I came to Ada's late October just after the won the Pismo Beach chowder event - figured we needed to see what the fuss is! Turns out it is in fact 5 star chowder and we've eaten our way through New England chowders over the years. Great texture and filled w/ clams! And mopping up the bottom of the bowl w/ the sourdough rolls was the ticket! We also got the fish tacos (way too much in the way of sauces - kinda ruined it) and my hubs got the fish and chips - this was excellent and the tartar sauce was A+++. Our server was also just wonderful - chatty, eager to talk to us about our annual CA road trips and where they've taken us. The only service thing that was a ding was the wait... the restaurant was not full yet there was a 20 minute wait. There seemed to be plenty of help so not sure what that was about.

Came here for dinner without reservation; got seated easily and quickly on a weeknight at 6pm Located in downtown pismo. Lots of street parking available. We ordered the following and did family style: - a house salad with balsamic vinegar - San dabs with rice pilaf and veggies as side -- This dish was so good! Fish was so well seasoned and tender. Loved the rice which complemented the dish so well - seafood pasta -- pasta was so good; fresh clams, mussels, fish and one shrimp and scallop. Loved the sauce and the linguine was cooked perfectly! They give you fresh bread and butter as well. For dessert, we got the apple bread pudding which is served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream! I love bread pudding so this def was made so well and hit the spot and satisfied all my sweet cravings. Overall, loved the food and hostess was so nice. Fast and good service.

This was the BEST restaurant I visited while in Pismo. We were so glad we were able to try it! Make sure to get reservations as they get busy. We walked over here because our hotel was close by. They have indoor and outdoor seating, we opted to sit inside. Beautiful indoor seating and you can see the water from afar. We had the lobster Mac and cheese (so good!!) clam chowder (the best in Pismo) and the scallops (amazing)! Customer service was great. We didn't wait long for our food. We were so full by the end of it that we didn't have room for dessert. We would like to come back and dine here again anytime we are in Pismo.

Booked Friday dinner reservations the day of. Got the Lobster Roll ($32) & Cioppino ($40). Both pricy but expected for the area and seafood. Lobster roll was on the smaller side and meh. Cioppino was our favorite; we'd definitely come back for this dish again! It was also nice to eat by the window and watch the sunset with my fiance. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. Be aware that the parking is limited but do check because there were spots when we went.

Table for 5 on a busy Thursday night. Our party opted for cocktails prior to ordering our dinner. Service was spectacular all night long and a martini was just what the doctor ordered after 6 hours of driving and some afternoon wine tasting. We brought a bottle of wine for dinner and our server brought out a chiller to keep our Chardonnay cool. For dinner I order the clam chowder along with fish and chips and wife ordered the sand dabs. Clam Chowder arrives and it is indeed award winning. Perhaps the best I have ever had. Main dish arrives and wife says the sand dabs are excellent and seemed to enjoy the accompanying vegetables as well. My fish and chips were plentiful and a value at $20 but I should have requested seasoning because the chips had none on them. Everyone enjoyed dinner at Ada's Fish House and we will return again in the future. Good food, excellent service, 5 star dinner.

Ada's Fish House was excellent. They have a nice outdoor patio seating and dog friendly. They offer a water bowl for the dogs. Note, service dogs allowed inside the restaurant. They have a small parking lot. It's a nice cozy restaurant. A special "thank you" to Sam and Melvin for their great service. We ordered: Crab cakes: 5 Stars, plenty of crab meat and less fillings. The sauce is flavorful. Fish Tacos: 5 Stars, flavorful Seafood Pasta: 5 Stars, OMG... lots of fresh seafood and perfectly cooked pasta. The sauce was delicious. Grilled Chicken: 5 Stars, They accommodated my request for a grilled chicken for my doggie's lunch. Thanks! I would definitely return back when traveling to Pismo Beach. A big hit during our visit.

We had a great dinner here on our visit to Pismo. Although we got there a bit late, the host and overall service was great! They were very friendly to us and our doggie. Very attentive, even when sitting outside. The outside patio is very nice, with plenty of heaters for those cold nights. We order the clam chowder, a fried snapper, and a cioppino. All of them were delicious. One of the best chowders we've had! They're a bit pricey and their beer selection could be better. But overall still a great place to dine.

All previous positive reviews were not wrong. Friendly servers. Excellent food . We ordered a wedge salad... delicious. Fish and chips .. delicious. Large portions n excellent breading .

I was craving for a lobster roll and I remembered that I came to this place a while back. When I got in the restaurant it took a while for them to acknowledge me. So I had to ask if my food was ready. They seem very helpful. Maybe it was too busy for them. I order on the phone and the food was ready on time. The lobster portion in the bread was great. The portion or the fries were good too. But I didn't like that the bread got soggy very quick. To ky taste I would've liked it a different type of bread. Something not easily to get soggy. Maybe it's just me. The ambiance it's very casual. They have seating inside and outside. They do have parking on the side of the restaurant. It is very convenient because Pismo's parking gets very full. You can't find an available parking sometimes.

The food here was actually really good overall, but a few things could've been better. We ordered a couple seafood dishes, and while everything was cooked well and tasted great (especially the sauces), some of the portions were lacking, we barely got 3 shrimp total across two dishes, and a few mussels didn't even have meat inside. That said, the clam chowder was the best dish we tried, super flavorful and the best thing we had. The lobster roll was decent, not the best I've had, but still enjoyable. Service was friendly, but they forgot about our table for a while since it was really busy. The restaurant has a nice beachy vibe and was decorated well, just a bit crowded during peak hours. Overall, I'd recommend coming here, especially for the chowder, just keep in mind it gets busy and some dishes might feel a little light on seafood.

This seafood restaurant is a few miles inland from the beach. Make sure to snag a reservation because they are a popular spot for both locals and tourists! We were also traveling with our dog and they have tons of outdoor seating, making it pet friendly. We were even able to order a pup patty for him to enjoy! My boyfriend and I shared an order of the fried calamari and a bowl of clam chowder. The calamari could've used another minute in the fryer to get it nice and crispy, but was otherwise good. The clam chowder is on the thicker side, but we didn't mind! I had the grilled fish sandwich and would order it for every visit! So good and well seasoned and a lighter option to the fried food fare down by the boardwalk. My boyfriend had the fish and chips and he loved it - nice and crispy and not too much batter. PRO TIP: the corkage fee is only $10, so make sure to bring a bottle to enjoy with your table!

We walked in and had to wait for a table to be wiped off, not a big deal, as we're sitting waiting for someone to acknowledge that we're there servers are walking by, we don't get any water, complimentary bread or even a, I'll be right with you. As we're getting up to leave a server ask, oh did you change your mind, I responded, yes since no one has helped us. They are also owned by Vista Steakhouse also in Pismo beach, probably won't go there either.

We were sipping on wine in a winery while browsing on our phones to look for a place for dinner. This place popped up and caught our attention. Wifey wanted to know what the daily catch was so I called and Italian snapper was one of them so I immediately made a reservation. Got there at 5pm on a Sunday night and there were plenty of parking and seats inside. Had a good view of Price street in our seats. We loved most of what we ordered. The steamed mussels were probably the best. The Oyster Rockefeller was pretty good. I had a few bites of wifey's Italian snapper and it was tasty. Wifey commented on how fresh it was. Louie salad had good quantities of Dungeness crab and big shrimp. The lobster roll that I ordered was mediocre compared to everything else we had. Wifey got the banana mai tai but felt almond flavor was too strong. I tasted it and thought it was okay. That's what mai tais taste like lol. The SLO Brew Cali Squeeze Blood Orange Hefeweizen was tart and crisp. Felt more like grapefruit than blood orange, but I liked it regardless. Would certainly go back again as most things were delicious!

To start with our bartender Oz was awesome so was the food. Best seafood in the area. Here is the problem. This is the second time we've sat at the bar and had to hear employees complain about their jobs. Not a good look. It wasn't the bartenders it was other employees. They come back to fill their drinks and complain.

Still a solid stop. We grabbed seats at the bar since that was available and compatriots really wanted a drink anyway. The bartender checked in on us often, and water refills infrequent depending on how many drinks he was making at the time. I had gotten the spinach and quinoa salad, grilled artichoke, and the mac n cheese. The spinach and quinoa salad was as expected. Wanted a bit more leafy greens to balance things out, felt a bit clunky bite to bite. The grilled artichoke was cooked well with a nice char to it though it would've been better to share that one. The mac n cheese was still saucy and good tho that'd likely be a staple for me here. Worth the stop for a spell, and I'll have to try the lobster mac at some point later.

Discovered Ada's during our 2nd trip to Pismo Beach and now is our must visit seafood place every time we are in town. Hubby loves his raw oysters & can't seem to find another place in town that can compete. Of all the animal proteins, I will never tire of seafood because of options and different ways to prepare them. Our most recent visit was for hubby's birthday and was thrilled to taste test many more items from menu because of our large dining party. They have great specials so in addition to their grilled artichoke staple, I enjoy one of their specials to share. I never have room for dessert, but their strawberry shortcake for this season almost tempted me. For our large party during Mother's Day weekend, the host and other staff ensured our wait person got the support needed. Including helping us serenade Happy Birthday to hubby.

Best clam chowder and exceptional service! Fish and chips are really good as well! We sat outside in the patio and they had a lot of heaters to keep it very cozy!

I've been visiting Pismo Beach twice a year for the last six years, and I finally tried Ada's Fish House. I ordered the fish and chips, hoping for a standout meal, but I wasn't impressed. The fish was bland, lacking any salt or seasoning to bring out its flavor. I thought the tartar sauce, which seemed unique, might save it, but it fell flat too. The fries (the "chips") were the only part with any real taste. It would have potential if the fish had some seasoning. I won't be rushing back on my next trip.

Heard Ada's has the best clam chowder in Pismo 4 years running and had to give it a try. If you have a group bigger than 2 you have to book hours in advance because when we tried to get a reservation at 4. They didn't have anything until like 830 that night. So we walked over and ordered some clam chowder to go. The staff was friendly and they tried to find a way to seat us, but it didn't work out because only half our group was there, I digress. They had nice indoor and outdoor (dog friendly) seating. The vibe was coastal cool. The chowder was served fast and came with wonderful bonus sourdough bread. The sourdough bread was some of the best I have ever had, if not the best...It was that good. The clam chowder was also good, but not the best I have had (that would be Georgie's in Newport Oregon). Overall ya gotta give them a try.

*In search of the best Chowder in SLO, Ada's Fish house, 2nd out of 6 restaurants sampled, yay!* After landing at San Luis Obispo Regional and getting our rental, it was around noon time and we headed to Ada's Fish House for some quick bite. We were lucky to find a parking spot the the back of the restaurant. With mission: find the best chowder in SLO in mind, we ordered a couple of Clam Chowders for the family along with some Calamari in tow. First of, the calamari was good: proper seasoning and properly cooked calamari with excellent tartar sauce. Noted though, is that the breading easily breaks of from the squid. Nevertheless, it was a good starter. The clam chowder on the other hand, was divine. Out of the six places we tried chowder, Ada's was the perfect cut of potatoes, clams, and other accouterment that makes a chowder. Subtle in savor but exponential in creaminess, Ada's clam chowder really rises up to the ranks. Without any doubt, Ada's is considerably better that the more famous chowder down the street closer to the beach. I had Fish & Chips and it was good also. Little lacking on the crunch, the fish was properly flakey and again accompanied with their killer tartar. The kids burger was great, and wife's Sanddabs were good. What is surprising was they have what I think the best bread (sourdough) I have had in any restaurant, bar none. Whatever their starter yeast is, they should keep it in lock 'n key!

Stopped in for a quick lunch while passing thru town cuz the reviews said it was family owned and had the best chowder. Our waitress was the sweetest and the busboy who greeted us and brought us waters was friendly. Menu had good selections and we all liked our choices. Def rec the Brussels and steamed clams. The hot rolls were a hit and great to dip into the clam broth and chowder. The chowder was good but a little too think and creamy for my taste. Hubby loved their freshly caught halibut special of the day. My daughter really liked her scallops. Cute decor and clean restaurant.

Waah! 5:30pm reservation for 3 people and we weren't seated until 6pm. Thank you Joe V for being a great server. The cocktail had to be returned because of foreign particles floating in it. We weren't charged for it but the rose champagne that replaced it was on the bill. Best: Oyster of the day: Misty point from Chesapeake Bay, VA. Fresh, cold, delicious. All of us ordered and enjoyed a special of the day: Rockfish bowl (see photos). A lovely combination of delights and perfectly grilled blackened rockfish. Small room with a lot of customers so it is noisy. Due to wait and cocktail 3 stars.

We thought we tried all the better restaurants in Pismo but we were wrong. How can we have missed Ada's?? Their food is so fresh and so tasty! We ate at the bar and we were served by the awesome OZ, who made the dinner an even enjoyable event. The place has an outdoor area too but you have to make reservations since they're that popular! Definitely will be back!

We've always ordered their clam chowder Togo but this was our first time dining in. Might I say, it was a great experience. Our server was kind and friendly. The food quality was fantastic. The oysters were fresh and sweet. The calamari was clean and tender. The fish and chips were some of the best batter we've had. The ciopinno had a nice kick and filled with lots of seafood. The sourdough rolls were my favorite. We loved the ciopinno and chowder so much we ordered extra to take home for family. The restrooms were clean. We'll definitely be coming back again.

Friday night 7pm walked in without reservation, the table waiting time is about 35 minutes,and bar was open and that was our choice. Simple dimmed inside, suitable for family and friends gathering. The bartender greeted us in hurry and served us drinks , also the house fresh baked sourdough bread --- definitely fresh and warm, yummy. The waiting for the bartender to take orders was long --- more than 15 minutes. As shown, kids ordered Mac and cheese and fish and chips ( I personally tasted it a little ) . The portion was 5 star but the taste was not pleasing as the portion. Especially the chips ( fries) , dry and greasy/ not fresh oil taste. Kids food quality TWO stars. For the rockfish bowl, the seasoning was salty and mixtures like vegetables didn't mix well, ok dish. The highlight for our orders are the house clam chowder and complimentary house fresh baked sourdough bread. It goes together seamlessly, the soup was well seasoned and the clam tastes fresh and chewy. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed dinner here recently for my birthday - wonderful service, amazing fresh (hot!) sourdough rolls, and delicious food. Yes, it's pricey, but they're upfront about it. ;) Here's what we had: Scallops pan seared, lemon white wine butter sauce, served with vegetables and choice of side $38.00 --- yes, it's four scallops. Four beautiful, large, perfectly seared scallops. The sauce was light and delicious. I had the au gratin potatoes as my side - creamy and comforting. I might've been happier with the rice pilaf side to enjoy more of the lemon butter sauce. ;) Cioppino Chef Doug's award-winning tomato based seafood stew with clams, mussels, fish, crab, scallops, and shrimp $40.00 --- good stuff! Two large scallops in this dish, plus some crab, and large shrimps, plus clams and mussels and salmon. Sauce was on point. The bread - graciously refilled without hesitation - was necessary to soak up every last bit of this. Fish and Chips one piece Pacific Cod $14.00 --- it's one piece of cod, as described - about the size of a small corn dog. I was a little underwhelmed by this portion, but kiddo didn't mind because it meant more room for more bread. ;) They're doing a bunch of renovations, and had the swankiest port-a-potty situation in the parking lot. ;)

Fabulous food and Rhonda is adorable! Yummy clam chowder and how about the bread?!? Wow! Shrimp for me and scallops for my husband and they were both delicious! (Please don't judge us for having potatoes au gratin instead of rice) Make a res, we heard people being told there was a one hour wait at 6p on Wednesday!

Located across the street from Rosa's, parent restaurant, is Ada's. We didn't have reservations, but waited 15 minutes and were seated. The service was great. The ambiance is elevated seafood restaurant for the central coast. (Not just a hole in the wall) I ordered the Fish and Chips, Clam Chowder, Lobster Roll and Key Lime Cheesecake. The Clam Chowder was a burst of seafood, ocean, herby, creaminess. Very Herby. The Fish was battered lightly and fresh. The fries tasted good, could've been fried a little more. Well seasoned. The Lobster Roll was a slight crunch/sponge from the roll and buttery smooth lobster that melted in your mouth. The Key Lime Cheesecake was awesome! Just how I like it. Slight citrus bite from the lime and very creamy, melt in your mouth cheesecake. Loved it! *Overall, good.*

4.5/5.0 Stars. The place smells good. Warm bread and soft butter is brought to the table. We ordered the Pacific (Red) Snapper Fish Tacos and Fish Sandwich (side included) and both are prepared with fresh fish and are very good and provided with excellent service. Though it's shy of the best restaurants we've eaten throughout the US and Asia it's way up the list in this area which we've visited periodically. It's #1 in Pismo and the surrounding area. There's a 20 minute wait this Tuesday for lunch after 1PM even with empty tables, possibly so the kitchen can keep up.

Had this place bookmarked for a roadtrip to SoCal. So glad to finally have made it! They have great options for everyone and good food. They have a parking lot as well as street parking, good service, and an open concept restaurant. The views aren't of the ocean, but you can drive less than a mile for that. My husband and I ordered the lobster roll (4/5), seared scallops (5/5), and Rockefeller Oysters (5/5). The lobster roll was the only tad slip back with this, as it was a little dry and overcooked, but it was perfectly fine because being preggers means I can still enjoy fully cooked seafood. There's also kids' Mac n cheese if your child is looking for a little something to eat also.

Walking from our beach motel, Google maps sent us to two major roads we couldn't cross without a stoplight. Fun, we backtracked in the dark and tried again. Feedback on route. Warning, Ada's building and lot are under construction and basically impassible by car, so we did ok on foot because there is still sidewalk. Except for the bathrooms in a trailer in the back lot (cutely decorated but wow) you'd never know. Really. We were seated immediately without a reservation on a quiet Monday night at 6:00 p.m. This unassuming restaurant looks like a former Denny's. But they serve some pretty excellent fish! I started with the grilled artichoke, which was way too lemony as served, and then it was served with lovely grilled lemon and a lemon aoli. Laughing, but otherwise it was perfectly prepared and I ate every leaf. Thank goodness for just plain old butter to dip it in. How about a sweet or savory flavor to accompany this dish other than a lemon aloli? Garlic or perhaps wasabi aoli here? My husband ordered a cup of chowder and really enjoyed it, plenty of clams. He had the seafood pasta which included lots of meaty fish, shrimp and shellfish in a creamy vodka tomato sauce. I stole most of a scallop, before he stabbed me with his fork. These folks can do fish! He was stuffed! I had the sand dabs, prepared without flour and they still got an excellent sear on them. Loved this dish, a light picatta with capers and yes more lemon. The chef vegetable included mostly squash, both yellow and zucchini. Not my favorite but it was prepared crisp tender and buttered. The side of brown rice was basmati from my expert opinion, and seasoned perfectly to eat just plain! I love this dish, and wouldn't change a thing except the zucchini. One Paloma at $14 was quite enough, I make them at home for pennies and this was not special. He had a Modelo for $8 which was okay but again, really? I was perfectly happy to pay $30 each for the fish entrees, they were great! I think this is a solid business, who would sell a lot more cocktails if they revamp that part of their program. I hope that when their construction is done, they don't raise the prices! This is a very reasonably priced and high quality seafood restaurant, and thank you for reading to the end!

It was SO packed! We didn't have reservations yet they still welcomed and seated us right away. Everything we tried was SO flavorful and appetizing! I can't believe I only discovered Ada's as of late. I'm so glad I decided to venture off from our usual spot for clam chowder in this area because Ada's is my favorite spot now! Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The restroom was clean. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking was a little difficult so plan accordingly. Their lobster roll and Lobster Mac and cheese were fire! I can't wait to return. Ahh, so good, I'm craving Ada's now!

I don't think I've had a bowl of clam chowder in about a decade. I am lactose intolerant and something that creamy is just not in the cards for me. However, I went to Ada's after a super long road trip and was really wanting some warm comfort food in the cool weather. The chowder is peppery and creamy with very large chunks of clams and potatoes. I didn't have a single grain of sand in there which I really appreciate. You get some oyster crackers on the side and sourdough bread. I am sure there is an option to order the soup in a bread bowl but I was trying to keep things light. Service was just wonderful and the specials menu had some awesome seafood delicacies. This is a great place to have the beachy seafood meal.

Initial impressions: Friendly welcome. We arrive 5 min early for our reservation, ended up being seated after about 25 min. In fairness, we're a party of 5, this place is primarily designed for 2-4 diners per table. Seemed like a lot of staff was lingering around the cash register, maybe 5. they seemed to be enjoying themselves - though not exactly focused on the restaurant. Once we were seated however, things started moving quickly. We ordered steamed clams, chowder, crab Louie salad, oysters and the rock fish special. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The chowder was thick, almost too much so, but delicious nonetheless. The rockfish special was good once you mixed all the layers together. The restaurant is modest in size, but comfortable. Feels like a nicer local place, versus the more casual dining towards the ocean along the strip. Will definitely be coming back

The service was great! Everyone was very friendly. The food was amazing. The lobster roll (served hot or cold) was exceptional, as well as the grilled chicken sandwich. The cocktails were also good. Highly recommend.

What a great spot - spacious outdoor patio perfect with a relaxing fountain for dining with our pups, friendly service and amazing fresh seafood! Sam Adam's battered fish and chips - light flakey fish perfectly cooked with light coating that was not greasy, grilled artichokes with lemon was perfectly cooked- need to figure out how to make close to as tasty as this at home! Clam chowder- legit. Perfectly balanced and the right ratio of clams, cream and veggies - outstanding! Crab cocktail was also delicious.

My new favorite restaurant in Pismo. I strongly recommend the cioppino. It's perfectly cooked. Everything tastes so good and reasonably priced. Dinner for 2 with drinks costs around $120 including tips. Service was excellent. Will definitely return to try other dishes!

Some people on Reddit claimed this place has the best clam chowder in the county, so I had to put it to the test--and they were right. The chowder was outstanding, easily the best I've had in the area.
