The location is a bit far from the city centre, but the facilities are very good for the price. Smiling Staffs, excellent restaurant, which means nice and friendly staff. Little comfort - no shampoo, toothbrush, hopefully these will be provided. # Addis Ababa # Ethiopia

Myself and my partner stayed in this hotel on and off for 10 days whilst we travelled the North of Ethiopia, and we loved this hotel. We had to leave a lot of our luggage and valuables as we travelled, and the hotel kept it secure for us each time. The hotel arranged very early breakfasts for us and shuttle services to the airport. The staff were really friendly and it was all very organised. We ate a lot in the hotel, and the food was always excellent, such a high standard. I recommend the 'Vegetarian Special', although alongside traditional Ethiopian food they offer an array of European foods also. The rooms were always clean and spacious, with huge comfortable beds. There were staff available 24 hours a day, and the hotel had good wifi. We could not fault this hotel, and if we are ever in Addis we will stay again at the Regency.

We stayed here as our base during an amazing Ethiopian experience. The hotel stored our things between visits (three stays) and gave a warm welcome back each time. The whole team really couldn’t do enough for us. We used the restaurant and bar facilities in the evenings to relax between excursions. They even did all the washing before we went home... with all services very keenly priced. Airport runs for our internal and international flights were all on time, with friendly safe drivers. The entire experience was smooth from start to finish. Many thanks to the management, catering and housekeeping teams. A memorable, happy and authentic stay.

A nice hotel with one of the best staffs you will ever encounter. Our three rooms were clean and comfortable and the 24 hour restaurant and bar were nice additional features. Breakfast was good as well. More than anything, the staff of this hotel is the number one reason I will stay there again on my next trip to Addis. At every turn they went above and beyond to accommodate our every need beginning with the hotel shuttle driver sticking around Bole airport until midnight after our flights were delayed and our luggage was lost. The Addis Regency took customer service to a whole new level for us. We will be back.

Good room, large soft bed, very clean. The airport transfer is free and fully reliable (a reason in itself to choose this hotel). Not sure how they do it, but wireless Internet is quick and reliable, in contrast to other hotels in the city. Have stayed here many times.

This hotel is an absolute gem. It is a 5 Star hotel with 5 star staff with 5 star food and 5 star service. The manager (His name translation literally means "Mr. Wonderful") personally ensures that every guest feels like family. Mr. Wonderful takes pride in knowing every name of his guests and will personally look out for your well-being and safety during your stay in Addis. The food was incredible, especially the breakfast spread that comes with deliciously STRONG coffee! The location of this hotel is perfectly placed next to a tiny colorful coffee house (buna bet - coffee shop) that is often full of friendly locals, many who speak English. Next to this coffee shop is a quaint bakery full of cookies, pastries, and donuts (Bombolino). This area is VERY SAFE and has alleys surrounding the hotel full of local shops, barbers, spices, schools, and local friendlies. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone traveling to Addis Ababa. Everything is affordable to travelers and they have a VERY VERY good tour guide that provides safe trips anywhere you want to go! We were able to visit all of the beautiful surrounding areas that this country has to offer.

It’s ranked as top choice here not without a reason. The price is reasonable, the place is clean, and the staff is the best of this hotel: very friendly and accommodating. ||The hotel is hidden inside an narrow street off the main road. It is a bit dark around at night and it is not so convenient for public transport. It looks like that it is more a residential neighbourhood nearby and there is virtually no shop around other than one or two street stalls selling water and soft drinks etc. The plus side of the location is that it is a escape from the busy (and often chaotic) city.

Had a 12-hour layover overnight in Ethiopia for our connection flight to Tanzania. Needed a hotel that was close to the airport to shower and sleep. Addis Regency was about 10-15 mins away (beware of traffic in the mornings, give yourself extra travelling time). The airport pick-up was smooth, just had to wait, the check-in was smooth for the most part. The room was very basic, not a 4 or 5 star. The water pressure was very low in our room, almost a drip and the hot water took about 10 minutes to finally come out the "shower". As stated in other reviews, there is a club close by, and the music goes on until the early hours (not ideal when you are jet-lagged and trying to catch some sleep).||Nonetheless, the staff is really friendly. I wouldn't stay here for more than one- night, but it was adequate for the price paid.
