This was a delightful way to spend a few hours of our day in asheville. About 25 minutes outside of town this family-owned Vineyard and Winery offers tours and an upscale Tasting Room replete with local cheese and crackers for a snack. Definitely an activity to put late in the afternoon but we got a little bit wet because of rain.

Google
This is a beautiful place. The view is gorgeous, the staff are very friendly, and the wine is delicious. Let's support our local talent.

This was a wonderful way to spend a few hours. We sat on the porch with wine and some snacks from the wnc farmer’s market in Asheville, and then enjoyed a tasting with Michelle. She was delightful. She answered all of our questions about the property and the town, really connecting our experience to her and the family.

If you haven't made this apart of you or your group's itinerary you are missing out! One of the most beautiful vineyards in western NC. Locally owned and operated!

Google
The floof and I visited on a Friday evening after work. We sat outside and enjoyed the quiet, view, and sunshine. I don’t drink alcohol, so I ordered a soda and charcuterie board with crackers, goat cheese and rhubarb jam. It was the perfect summer evening. The drive is easy from Weaverville. Bonus points for not having to sit in Asheville traffic to get to this beautiful spot!

Google
great views, great owners, and great wine! definitely coming back here. it’s quiet and so relaxing!

Google
This was an amazing experience to say the least. We did the winemakers tour and tasting. Their wine was delicious and they have several different styles. The owner Jeff did the tour this afternoon and he was very knowledgeable and down right hilarious! The views here are also very pretty. They have many areas to sit and drink wine in comfort as well as blankets for lawn sitting. We will visit again on future trips.

Google
I brought a group of friends here yesterday for a wine tasting. We were not disappointed! The views all around are amazing, like "could sit there and just stare at the mountains for hours on end" kind of amazing. The wine was no less spectacular. We all did the tasting and enjoyed all of the ones we tried! I don't normally buy bottles of wine to bring home, but I did end up with two bottles before I left. Couldn't resist. I can't wait to come back and try the charcuterie board and have more wine with those beautiful views!

Yelp
The owner is amazing!! Such an engaging and honest man! The wines were pretty good too lol. A nice quaint property, close to Asheville. Bottles reasonably priced and gorgeous scenery. I loved the herbal selection!
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy winery close enough to Asheville but far enough to get off beaten path. Relaxed vibe with a great variety of wines. They usually have food trucks in season. Owners were great. Working farm

Yelp
What a lovely place! I visited North Carolina to explore Asheville area, and couldn't help myself but to stop at the local winery. Located only 30 minutes away from Asheville, this winery is a combination of relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. To do the tasting you need reservations. Unfortunately, I did not have reservations, and even though I was there by myself, I was not allowed to do the tasting. It's completely understandable due to the pandemic regulations. With that said, I didn't feel like I was very welcome there, but again it's just my perception. That did not prevent me from getting a glass of wine and sipping it outside on the patio. I also walked around by the grapes, the view was very nice. You also get a glass to take home with you, which was very nice. Overall, I had a positive experience.

Yelp
Love this place. A little effort to get to but so worth it. We went for bottles instead of tastings. I highly recommend the Coming Home- light Cabernet savignon. Matt, the wine expert, was amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable. We sat outside with a view of the vineyard. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Addison Farms is located on a bee-you-tiful piece of property in Leicester, NC North, North west of Asheville. I went here because this place has a little special place in my heart. Many years ago when i was in school at Surry Community College for the Grape and Wine science program we traveled to this very vineyard to help plant some vines in the vineyard. We were learning about grafting vines and planting and this was part of a class project. I wanted to see how the wine tasted and how the vines were holding up. I never got to walk down in the vineyard as they were having a wedding there. Always a joyous and beautiful (see I really do know how to spell that word!) occasion. Our lady that ran the tasting was really nice and on point. Very down to earth and not that "syrupy fake" personality that one sometimes encounters in the public service industry. You had to make reservations due to covid, they were strongly encouraged at least. The wines were a bit different some with herbal qualities I wasn't really too fond of them, I am more of a traditionalist when it come to wine. I really enjoyed the Port style wine they make and the bottle of Petite Manseng that we enjoyed on the front porch while talking to some other people. In fact that 30 minute tasting ended up being a 4 hour chat with some new friends. In my book, thats a good day by any standard!

Yelp
This was the best winery find! The winery was beautiful and the wine was great. Everything was so smooth and the staff was so friendly!
google avatar

Danielle E.

Yelp
Very cute small business. Wine was different from typical wines but was definitely tasty we also enjoyed the cheese plate got. The view was also incredible. Would definitely come back!

Inez R.

Yelp
I was confused as most vineyards give you the glass after you pay for a tasting and it indicated it was included but we were charged! Otherwise, great experience and definitely worth a visit! You won't be disappointed! Beautiful views! Knowledgeable and engaging staff!
google avatar

Libby S.

Yelp
Delicious wines and stunning views! Highly recommend. Taking a few bottles home with me! I'll 1000% be back next time I'm in Asheville!

Yelp
What a great place! Incredible location, gorgeous views all around. We did a wine tasting, and it was one of the best wine tasting experiences ever. The staff is super knowledgeable, welcoming and accommodating. We had five little kids with us, and were given a 5 star service and attention. The wines were unusual and delicious.
google avatar

Laurie I.

Yelp
Nice view, nice staff and the wine was really good. They could use a few more heaters as it did not help in the wind on the patio but we had a really nice tasting. Which the pours were a bit bigger for the price but most of the vineyards are going this direction. Enjoyed the day and the view
google avatar

Lourdes M.

Yelp
I came across this winery online, and I am so glad I did. The people were amazing especially Matt, so accommodating with our party. We had the honor of meeting the owner and he gave us a personal tour of the winery. It's a family winery and that is its biggest charm, I'm so happy we found them! Wine was delicious by the way...
google avatar

Yelp
I couldn't say enough great things about Jeff and Addison Farms. He gave us a detailed tour and Even came and sat with my boyfriend and me to chat afterwards. It was so nice to hear a detailed winemaking explanation and get to know the lifeblood behind the business. Just like he recommends-- the experience is so much better if you ask questions. I'm definitely scheduling a tour/wine tasting every time I come back to Asheville, and a huge thank you to Jeff for the great tour.

Yelp
We drove approximately 30-40 minutes from the Biltmore to visit Addison Farms Vineyard and we were not disappointed! We arrived 30 minutes before they closed and were immediately welcomed and never felt rushed through our experience. The woman at the wine bar was very knowledgeable and the wines were very good. At closing time, the owner greeted us and allowed us to stay to enjoy the amazing views from the front patio. He even spent a considerable amount of time with us and talked about the vineyard, recommended great spots in Asheville, and took our picture. We would certainly recommend Addison Farms Vineyard to anyone visiting Asheville.
google avatar

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
We had the best time celebrating. Even in the rain, the vineyard was so cute and inviting. The wine was yummy and we can't wait to go back when it's not raining.
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
At first we drove by the unassuming entrance to this vineyard. We called to ensure they were open and had the location correct. Upon entering the property, you follow a a small gravel drive to to right to be greeted by an adorable building perched atop a hill overlooking the vineyard. We arrived and only one other couple was in the small tasting room. What a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our very informative tasting and even left with three bottles of wine. We will definitely be back the next time we visit the area and the trek to this vineyard was absolutely worthwhile!
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
What a beautiful vineyard, full of delicious wine tasting selections and wonderfully friendly owners. I highly recommend taking a detour to this lovely farm to get your wine on. Each wine is different, full of flavor and decadent. After finishing the full tasting, my husband and I opted for a few glasses to sip whilst learning more about the vineyard. Couldn't help but go home with a bottle of our own! Will certainly come back when we're in the area again.

Yelp
Gorgeous family vineyard with beautiful views of the mountains! We took a tour with Jeff, who was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. The tasting was delicious, and the souvenir wine glass is beautiful. Be sure to ask questions about the labels, artwork, and family history of the farm, all of which are rich and thoughtful. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it to friends! We purchased a bottle after the tasting, and I wish I had purchased more!

Debi T.

Yelp
Highly recommend. Amazing scenery, great wine, and staff went above and beyond to make our visit special. Although they are labeled wrong on here as pet friendly. Their website says no pets. Not that they don't love them, but they do it for their customers (which I fully support). We are not from the area and was traveling with our small dog and out of respect we called first to see if we could bring her but stay outside. They welcomed us!!! Since it was on a Friday @ noon they graciously brought our tastings outside when they could. We have been to many wineries around the country and this by far was one of our favorites. We had the pleasure of sitting and talking with Jeff for over an hour. His passion not only for his wine, but his community, and fellow farmers made our visit even more special. We will be back and I recommend you stop by and support them and the community. Thanks again Addison Farms for an experience we'll cherish and talk about for years to come. Mark, Debi, & Lady

Yelp
This was a super cute, small vineyard on our way to a house we rented and so we stopped to sample their wine and were pleasantly surprised to have some one on one attention when we arrived later in the afternoon- the lady who helped us was really sweet and very knowledgeable. They had a nice array of wines: reds, white and a sweet dessert wine and you kept the glass as a souvenir. Nice little place w a very pretty view!

Yelp
Took my parents here for wine tasting on our trip to Asheville last weekend. Being from Oregon, we've been missing all the local wineries! I was so happy to find a local family run winery to visit on our trip! It's a short drive from downtown Asheville. We pulled into the winery and were helped as soon as the group before us finished up. The lady leading the wine tasting was extremely personable and knowledgeable!! My parents did the normal tasting with the two reserve wines added - they disliked some but enjoyed some others. It's hard to be non-judgmental coming from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. This was the best winery we've visited since moving from the west coast! I ended up buying them a bottle of the Red Dress. We wish we would have packed a picnic to enjoy some wine out on their patio overlooking the beautiful countryside! Definitely recommend visiting on a trip to Asheville!

Yelp
My husband and I got married at Addison farms in 2016 but didn't get to really enjoy the wine and the vineyard. So in 2018 we returned for an anniversary trip. We have a wonderful afternoon drinking wine and having lovely conversation with the owner Jeff and his mom. The grounds are stunning and the wine is delicious.
google avatar

Jorge D.

Yelp
Got there early in the morning they weren't even opened but Melita come open the door for us and after few short anecdotes we began testing wine. We enjoy the stories, wine and took home a few. Though the vines are young but they are producing very nice products.
google avatar

Bee T.

Yelp
We loved this place. The owner walked us through a wine and charcuterie tasting. The wines were delicious and I love supporting small, family owned vineyards. Even after a little slip up with the tasting, the owner made it right and was friendly the whole time, even sending a thank you email afterwards.
google avatar

Jesse G.

Yelp
I stopped in with my girlfriend for a tasting and had a great time. The young ladies behind the bar were quick to greet us and the service was wonderful. We tried several wines and left with several bottles. I highly recommend checking out this vineyard. Note...The entrance is a bit tricky and the tasting sign is hard to read.
google avatar

Yelp
Looking for a random thing to do in Asheville? Addison Vineyards is off the beaten path. When you get here, don't blink because the entrance is subtle. The view from the tasting room is gorgeous. Addison has a beautiful tasting room where you can buy their taste flights before buying bottles. Or you can enjoy a glass (or two) on their deck. We got there a little on the late side on Sunday so we didn't see much past the tasting room and the deck. It's a pretty awesome place because it's a working vineyard. The vineyard is family owned and they have cute stories to go with their wine.

Laura S.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time here! There was good spacing between people while tasting & one of the owners talked with us out in the porch for awhile while we ate our picnic dinner. A great get away!
google avatar

Mara B.

Yelp
Maleida (sp?) was so friendly and kind to our group! This vineyard has great views and a very laidback feel.

Alicia G.

Yelp
Hands-down one of the best experiences I've ever had! I know nothing about wine other than a drink Moscato with some girlfriends out of a bottle with feet on it. But, Jeffrey was amazing and very knowledgeable and answered every question I had and was willing to take the time to explain it! The wine was delicious! The 529 was hands-down the best! I highly recommend this for a day trip tons of fun, tons of laughs, and lots of new knowledge! Great place, wonderful people!

Mary T.

Yelp
Very quiet atmosphere. Barely got a sip during the wine tastings. There's better vineyards in the area to go to before this one.
google avatar

Yelp
Busy place today, stood there for 10 min without being acknowledged. Finally I decided would just taste a wine and buy a bottle because indoor seating was too close. Got 2 bottles of the Phoenix. Not bad wine but a little sweet for me. Sat on deck to sip but rear deck was too hot so went to front deck and sat in shade. Owner seemed nice but he was talking to others nearby and clearly said people should leave their dogs at home - not bring them to vineyard. My dogs were lying under my chair on leashes bothering nobody. Stray unleashed dog got in their face twice so they voiced their discontent. Owner says it is neighbors dog. My dogs just traveled 6000 miles with me and Asheville area was my last stop before home and this is the first place I felt my dogs weren't welcome. Can I recommend that owner posts a no dogs allowed sign and indicate that on their website if dogs are not welcome? We left abruptly- then owner decided to ask about the breed of our dogs, maybe because we got up to go so quickly after the comment he made to another couple. I'll find a friendlier place to go next time.
google avatar

Jasmine D.

Yelp
Thought their wines were pretty good. Not as sweet as others but good. Did a tasting for $8 and it came with a glass. =]] I ended up liking the rose the best so me and my boyfriend bought a bottle and walked through the vineyard as we drank it. It really is beautiful up there. We ended up taking some pretty cool photos.

Yelp
A must-see place I venture out to every time I'm in the Asheville area. It's very family owned. There are only family members employed here and both times I went, the owner was in the winery. You can sample a bunch of wines for $7. It's well worth it. I got a decent buzz though, so if you're a lightweight like me, bring a dd. I have purchased almost all the wines here and they all have really great flavor. My favorite is Coming Home 2011. The dessert wine is awesome and the Smokehouse Red has notes of smoke which is unique and pulled off very well. Leicester is about a 25 minute drive from Ashevillem but it's scenic and goes by quickly. It's a beautiful drive and I can imagine it looks the best in the fall. Check this place out, but remember...it's only open on weekends.

Nancy T.

Yelp
It's been 4 years, we think, that we've been up to Addison Family Farm Vineyards...and for the life of us we can't understand why it hasn't been sooner! We saw mature vines and tasted the next gen wines today and are VERY impressed with the direction this vineyard is going. Tho it seems far, once you get to Asheville, its a cakewalk. Don't wait go, the winery is making killer reds and you shouldn't miss out know the vines are old enough! Jeff and Diane are smart in that wine way and know what they've got and are willing to grow the wine! Views are drop dead gorgeous!

Jackie F.

Yelp
The vineyard is beautiful, the staff is beyond friendly, and the wine is delicious! The venue is also very clean and provides hand sanitizer. Should you go, tell Matt, Sarah and Jessica I said hi!
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
Very knowledgeable staff! Beautiful views! Great tasting wine! Very charming place! Will definitely visit again!
google avatar

Kara S.

Yelp
We visited here over the holiday weekend, and had a great time! My parents live just down the road in Leicester, and had never been here either. We went and did the $10 tasting, and each bought a glass of wine and a bottle to take home. I didn't love all the wines, but some are really great, and the tasting setup is good. You stand or sit at the bar, and one of their employees pours the wines and meads from light to dark and tells you the flavor profile and story behind the wine. The deck is excellent to just sit for a little bit and have a glass, and then you can leave with the wine glass when you're done! I would come back again for another tasting when the wine selection has changed. In short, it's not super fancy, but the wine is good, and I enjoyed the visit.
google avatar

Gary K.

Yelp
Very nice tasting room and selection. A place we love to go on a summer evening and enjoy the views.

Lance C.

Yelp
We came down from Philadelphia to enjoy a peaceful vacation and came across Addison Farms Vineyard for a wine tasting. Jeff the owner, and Jessica our tasting specialist were such great people, very knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. Their variety of wines were wide ranging and of very high quality as well. We ended up buying a couple of bottles after the tasting and had a couple glasses while enjoying their incredible front porch view. If you do their tasting you get to keep the custom wine glass which is an added bonus! Overall this is a great local winery 20 minutes outside of Asheville that had awesome wine and an excellent atmosphere. If you're looking for an easy escape from the city I highly recommend it!

Kate M.

Yelp
If i could give zero stars i would. We came on a wine tour (stopped at three vineyards), and this place was BY FAR the worst winery/vineyard I've ever been to, in my entire life. I've been all over -- napa, italy, NC, etc-- but i am by no means a wine snob. I generally just love the experience and meeting the owners and seeing the beautiful vineyards. Doesn't take a lot to impress me. THERE WERE FRUIT FLIES IN MY WINE. AND IN MY FRIEND'S WINE. THREE OF THEM. they had fruit fly catchers all over the bar so i knew it was an issue. i didn't notice it was in there until after i took a few sips (gag!!)... The lady serving us honestly looking pretty sloppy, never introduced herself, and was just totally obvious to the fact that all the wine she was pouring us had gone bad. Thankfully it was only the first pour that had fruit flies, but EVERY SINGLE ONE of the wines we tasted after that was so awful that every member of my group (about 8 women in our late twenties/ thirties) spit out the wine in the paper cups that were provided for water. (note: we are not the fancy type that spit wine out after each sip-- it was THAT bad).. Honestly tasted like rancid vinegar, if that is even such a thing. worst experience of my life, and everyone in our group agreed. The wine was truly foul, and i cannot stress enough that i have NEVER met a wine i didn't at least enjoy for one or two glasses.

Ty H.

Yelp
What a find! This place is tucked away 25 minutes outside of Asheville and honestly worthy of an hour drive. The vineyard is perched atop a hill giving you unobstructed views of what you came to North Carolina to see. The tasting room was a blast of a time. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine, flavors and even how the soil influenced the wine they had made. The owner dropped in and gave us a great sum of knowledge about the property and the wine business. The tasting room offered a sampling of wine and a souvenir glass for just $14, what a steal! I highly advise visiting while you're in Asheville.

Yelp
This place was AWESOME. Jeff was a fabulous tour guide and host, and just a genuinely nice guy. I wished he and his wife (designer of the wine labels, by the way) had joined us for dinner afterwards. The brief tour and tasting was very inexpensive and came with a free (and nice) wine glass. The tasting room was beautifully finished, with great views of the surrounding mountains. We loved learning the history of the winery. I wish that everything billed as a family business was run like this: you could feel their connection to the land. The drive to the winery from Asheville was stunning as well. Oh yea, the wine was incredible.
google avatar

Lesa K.

Yelp
Hidden gem! Great white wine selection made from a honey base which made the taste different, light and delicious. Red wine selections were full of smoked flavor. The staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the vineyard and wine descriptions.
google avatar

Yelp
This was a great Vineyard. I highly recommend. The owners have a great history with the land and surrounding buildings, as it was his grandmother's land. Each of the wines are delicious. If you are into the sweet muscadine wines, probably not for you. If you have a more developed pallet that enjoys the art of making a good wine, then this IS the place for you.
google avatar

Andrew G.

Yelp
Very scenic, and Jeff (the owner) works hard to make vistors feel welcome. They are in their infancy, but you can see the start of something nice, way out of town. I was impressed by the tasing room (and its views). The wine they had was sourced from grapes coming from other vineyards, but the taste was good, and the process appeared to be well done.
google avatar

Shrea S.

Yelp
This place is absolutely gorgeous. Jeff (the owner) showed us around the vineyard because we wanted to choose it as a potential venue for our wedding. Unfortunately, it was a bit too far for us since we are planning the wedding from Colorado and our family lives in Raleigh. The vineyard is a break taking site and if we could've we would've definitely chosen it for our venue. You can tell that they are really easy to work with. Also, Jeff let us sample the wine and it is tasted awesome! The port is by far the best port I've ever tasted. I think most ports are way to sweet, but his is just the right sweetness. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to see a beautiful vineyard, try some good wine or look for a place to get married.
google avatar

Bill W.

Yelp
Very cool and well crafted tasting room. Only recommendation would be to offer a cheese plate for purchase. Highly recommended.

Abdul G.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place and don't regret it at all. Family owned and operated, it was beautiful little vineyard surrounded by the splendor and majesty of mountains and quaint appurtenances of modest, country life. The tour guide (I can't recall her name but an older lady) was very sweet. I enjoyed the wine tasting and came home with 2 bottles. The entire facility is laid out nicely and I like the fact that you can kind of make the place your own while you're there. Try this place out!

Yelp
I LOVE this place and I cannot recommend it enough. We decided to check it out after reading about it on another website and I'm SO happy we did. We were greeted by Sam, the happiest little dog I've ever seen. And it just got better from there. We did the wine tasting and walked around the vineyard. The grounds are gorgeous and Jeff and his wife were awesome. We grabbed a glass of wine and they chatted with us for awhile. Super nice people and the wine is great. Can't wait to visit again soon!
