We visited Addo African Home for our tour business, as we want to experience what our guest will experience. The lodge is rated as a 2*-hotel, however it's closer to 3*. The Lodge is close to the main entrance of Addo and they organize full day drives to Addo. Clean, modern vehicles, friendly rangers. You can also book game drives at nearby lodges, for example Schotia Private Game Reserve. The rooms are actually rondavels, all basics are there, good shower, very clean!! only the WiFi could better throughout the lodge. The lodge is also a school. All students live on the premises. Part of the restaurant vegetables and herbs are grown in their own garden. Students are very friendly and do 200% their best to give you a good time. Overall, we will book this place for our guests, and would recommend this to others as well.

Good service, with a smile. But, very expensive for what you get. I travel a lot, and for far less money, got 5 star places like Bona Bona etc. Paid R1520 for a rondawel. Bed was very hard and hollowed out, obviously worn out. No real table to put my stuff on. Restaurant on site had good service, but the pre-starter I received was terrible. No taste and was bland. The bread roll received was extremely hard. Struggled to cut into it, and could not bite into it as it hurted the inside of my mouth. The main course which was a shredded beef pasta, was very nice and tasty. I strongly suggest that prices are revisited. And rooms upgraded. I will not pay more than R450 per night as it stands. And make the menu bigger, with n little bit bigger portions.

Fantastic place to stay. So friendly and helpful. The game drive and guide were excellent. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the breakfasts and dinners in the restaurant were delicious.|The daily cakes available in the communal area were a lovely treat.|Stayed for 3 nights. Very relaxing. Didn’t want to leave!

We loved this place. The staff is so kind. The food is delicious and the hospitality is great. And then : to know this is an education resort. Youngsters from the townsship get the opportunity to learn a lot. And our guide Wamele is a great guy. We saw a lot in Addo with him

We had a wonderful stay at Addo African Home! We highly recommend dining at the restaurant as well! Throughout our stay, the service was exceptionally friendly — special thanks to Precious, who served us on our first night!

We stayed for 2 nights. Room was infested with bats crawling in from the outside through little cracks underneath the pointed roof. This could be seen by feces on the floor where the entrance of the bats where (hut alfred on the left from the front door outside angle). So we kept the lights on so they couldn't enter, this was met with discontent by squicks coming from the bats. A good night sleep was thus not the case, also because of the construction works only done at night , when it was 7am they where done and so was our night. Bats can be carriers of rabies so be warned (or another variants ). Also safetywise we could hear a car alarm going off at night of a visitor and when he put of the alarm and returned to his room , the car alarm began again ..... Room isolation is not present, you can hear the road & the trains passing by at 01, 03 and 06 am. Rather disappointing because the staff is really kind yet the management lacks. If you have a hotel, and visitors pay for a night to rest, please give it to them .

I loved staying at Addo African Home. The staff were amazing - Candice always had a smile in her face and gave such positivity. The only things that weren‘t perfect were some little issues in the Vasco da Gama room: The toilet papier was loose from the wall and the curtain rod had no bump at the end which resulted in pulling the curtain down by accident. The rest of our experience at Addo African Home was great and we highly recommend this place and their staff ^^

We only went to the restaurant. A lot of staff, it's also a school. Some dishes were very good, others not so much. Vol au vent was way too dry. The meat was overcooked. Gnocchi were great. Prices are steep.
