Good prices, large portions and good atmosphere. Pork was tasty, fries tasted homemade, I recommend it. But I am not a fried codfish fan because I couldn’t get a fish taste. You can vidit this place for Portugese food experience. Before the meal they serve you bread, tuna and pate but they are not included in the menu. People might not realise that they are extra and might be surprised at the end.

When in Lisbon we always return to this awesome restaurant. Great lunch menu for a reasonable price. Don't miss the home made chocolate mousse! Great service.

was here for a christmas dinner. service was quick but the noise was too much due to our table :D tried their bacalhau à lagareiro, a traditional portuguese dish, it was okay (little too oily for my taste).

Very cute local Portuguese place with very nice service! The shrimp patties were incredible and I really enjoyed the homey atmosphere! Very affordable too

Nice freshly cooked fish! We went on a Saturday night and ordered sardines with rice and beans and octopus with green beans and potatoes. Everything was amazing!! Highly recommend it!

Such an amazing family-run business with very delicious fish and meat in a broad variety with amazing quality!!! Very nice and sweet people who are very helpful and always smiling, making your experience there exceptional!!! A must when visiting Lisbon!!!!!

After reading reviews we tried it. For us it was very dissapointing. Compared with other places there was no care of the food (underseasoned, cold)It was not bad, but certainly not worth the time and money....disappointing

Rustic Portuguese flavors at their best! The codfish fritters with bean rice are absolutely delicious and full of comforting, homemade flavors. A great choice for anyone craving traditional dishes in a warm, welcoming setting.

The shrimp appetizer might be one of the best apps I've had in a long time. I wish I didn't get full so quick so I could've got more. The salmon was tasty but nothing too exceptional. Cod Fish Patties were average. Service was slow but the server was very friendly.

I came here the other night with medium expectations, but I soon realized that I had stumbled on a true Lisbon gem. I ordered the fried cod fish (basically cod fritters) with beans and rice. My fish was lightly battered, a scrumptious diversion that I would gladly have again. And the rice and beans, served in a communal cast-iron pot were out of the world. They were laced with porky goodness and well worth the wait. The service was also excellent as our waiter was friendly and efficient. You tell from the staff's attitude that they take a lot of pride in this restaurant. Everything, from the meal to the ambiance, speaks of authentic Portuguese cuisine.

The restaurant was overcrowded, too much noise. The food is not worth mentioning. The porc liver you could use to resole your shoes, same for the filetes. Also had to wait 1,5 hours before food was delivered to our table. Overall not going back ever again

Excellent food. Waiter spoke English. It looks Like mostly locals eat here. It was busy and we had to wait to be seated.We had grilled sardines, grilled octopus, fried Cod cutlet and small fried mackerel. Sardines and mackerel were so fresh.

This place is one of those locals that obviously hasn't changed in 20 or so years. Don't let the bland interior put you off. The food is traditional and delicious. My boyfriend and I just had olives, bread, cheese and fried cod to share and it was more than enough. We enjoyed just having little things to pick on over a carafe of wine. All that including wine and service came to €23! Bargain! Lovely wait staff and everything was clean and down to earth. They will give you bread and butter and pâté when you sit down that they will charge for if you eat it so just politely hand it back if you don't want it, if you do tuck in!

No frills, just delicious food and friendly wait staff. We sat down at 21:00 and it seemed slightly slow but in 30 minutes the place was full. We had two entrees and it fed three people with ease, we also had the house wine (both white and red) and they were delicious. It was great to warm up and fill up.

We came here based on previous reviews and had an entree of jamon & cheese, bread and pate, a half bottle of wine, sparking water, mixed grill meats & Portuguese pork - all for $37.80! The pate was wonderful and the serving size of jamon & cheese was great. The wine was really wonderful - a 2013 bottle of fruity red from Portugal. The Portuguese pork was tender and surprisingly flavourful even though it looked a bit plain coming out. The mixed grill was tasty and filling. Overall it was a cheap and cheerful way to done for the evening that left us very sated at the end!
