I rarely write reviews, but this place deserves all the praise. From the moment we walked in, everything about the evening felt special: the food, the music, the atmosphere, and above all, the hospitality.
Let’s start with the food: absolutely superior. We went with the tasting menu (€60), and also opted for the wine pairing (€25) – both were worth every cent. Each course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly crafted with care and expertise. It’s not often you get a tasting menu of this quality at such a reasonable price.
As for the service, it was exceptional. At one point, my mom wasn’t a fan of one of the dishes (purely personal taste), and without hesitation, the staff offered her a completely different dish that wasn’t even on the menu. That kind of genuine, accommodating service is rare, and it made us feel truly welcomed – like family rather than just guests.
Now, about the Fado: I’ll be honest, I’m no expert and didn’t really know what to expect, but I was captivated. The format was thoughtful and engaging. We were seated and served our first course, and then promptly at 9:30 PM, the lights dimmed and the music began. Each set included 3–4 heartfelt songs, followed by a break where the lights came up and the next course was served. This rhythm continued throughout the night, creating a seamless blend of culinary and cultural experience. The singers were passionate and deeply talented – it felt like a privilege to witness.
I’ve read a few negative reviews online and, frankly, I don’t understand them. Perhaps expectations were misaligned, but in our experience, there was nothing that felt commercial or inauthentic. Quite the opposite – this was the kind of place that welcomes you with warmth and sends you home with memories.
If you’re considering going: just come. Even if you don’t know anything about Fado. Even if you think it might be touristy. It’s not. This place is the real deal.
