I DO NOT recommend this accommodation. Particularly for a woman travelling alone. I felt completely unsafe from the moment I stepped in the door to check in. This intensified as I was making my way to my room and met several men alone hanging out in the hallways and outside the lift as I exited. I was given a room at the end of a hallway. The room looked polar opposite to the images on the website. It was filthy, the carpet all stained, window was a cage and glass you could not see out of. It felt unsafe and dirty and I didn't even want to sit on the bed. Paced for a minute, then hot footed it out of there only to find another man lingering in the hallway on his own. Absolute false advertising. For the same price I got two night at Vibe Hotel. Clean, reputable and perfectly safe. (Yes, I should have read the reviews).

Do not stay at the Adelaide Paringa. First night, I was on the second floor and my window looked out onto an alley way. When the drunk people stopped at about 2am the trucks started and kept going until I got up at 5:45am with a total of about 2 hours sleep. Honestly if council came and did a noise assessment they would be shut down. The level of noise in my room was extreme. To their credit they moved me when I explained how bad the noise was..BUT as I was out attending a course they needed the room. They moved my stuff to the next room while I was still out. My groceries and book did not make it to the next room. I complained 3x about this and asked them to follow up. I was told they would but at the same time was made to feel like I was making it up. They told me that they had asked the cleaners if they had taken the stuff - of course they said they had. Management insinuated that I was making it up and was lying. They told me on numerous occasions that they would call me and sort it out. They never did. Finally the rooms really arent as pictured on the website. They are super dated. You cant open windows they are all bolted closed. There was various local homeless/drug affected people that seemed to be staying at the hotel wondering around with no shoes. Really strange and poor experience all around.

Staff at the front desk are lovely and it's in a great location, but my room was terribly hot at night even with the aircon on so I didn't sleep super well. Also, bring your own shampoo and body wash - the liquids in the bottles don't match up with the labels. I know I didn't just shower with Thank You body wash, and I'm pretty sure I just washed my hair with hand soap. All the liquids in the 4 bottles in the bathroom are exactly the same despite having different labels and brands...

Read my other description of the rooms for more detail. Someone opened our room front door in the middle of the night. It was locked and we apparently had the only keys. I saw it happen. I was up late watching tv with my earphones in because I was sharing a room with my parents who snore. I saw someone open the door by about 30cm. The only reason they couldn’t get further in was because I had used something to tie a makeshift stop-chain. This place is a scam. It claimed to be completely wheelchair accessible which it was very much not. The mugs in the room had not been washed since the previous patron had apparently enjoyed a cup of coffee. There were grossly insufficient power points also. The elevator door opens before it stops moving. The location of this hotel was also very bad as nearby pubs seemed to enjoy multiple brawls. The wooden bed-side table had a full quarter of the unit sawed off to fit around a beam.

I did not sleep one bit due to people arguing excessively next door all night. Management blamed me and did not effectively deal with it. I tried multiple times!! Felt very un safe all night. I tried getting refund and manager Kayne made several lies. Deleted my review as asked for a refund THAT I NEVER GOT hence reposting now. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS PLACE. I have since learnt its notourious!!

Great stay in a charming old building at very reasonable prices. Hosts Kane and Lindy were outstanding. I will be staying here next time I visit Adelaide in the near future. Situated in a very central location close to all amenities and attractions.

Do not stay here. Absolutely terrifying, run down, unclean motel. The door to our room had clearly been kicked in before. It seemed it was being used as short term emergency housing for homeless/drug users. Felt unsafe and left 2 minutes after getting in the room and booked elsewhere. Not cheap for what it is either.

The building is old and has many problems. The furniture is of low efficiency and quality. Cleaning is superficial. Horrible place to work. The manager is polite, but only to the guests. It was a very bad experience in my life!
