ADGE Boutique Apartment Hotel (Sydney, New South Wales) Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Don’t let the Surry Hills location put you off for a second — while you’re on the southern edge of the city center proper, a longish walk from the waterfront tourist attractions and the districts where the boutique hotels generally cluster, you couldn’t ask for a better neighborhood. Here you’ve got one foot in the established city center and one foot in an emerging, creative, largely residential district. Not literally; that’d be awkward. And there’s nothing awkward about the ADGE Boutique Apartment Hotel." - Tablet Hotels

I really enjoyed my stay. The Adge has vibrant decor and a really funky aesthetic. It's also in a good location, close to the main drag but far enough that the street didn't feel busy. I opted for a "mystery room" because it was cheaper (and I love a lucky dip), and I got a standard king room (I think), which was plenty comfortable. However, my biggest highlight was definitely the coffee from the Cafe in the lobby. Honestly, the best cup of coffee I've had in a long time. I think the barista's name was Katerina? I started the day with a double-shot cappuccino, and usually I wouldn't have a second coffee, but I had another double shot-latte after I checked out. Also, the staff were friendly and thorough, but without being overbearing. Did it have its flaws? Well yeah, every hotel does. But at the price point, it was excellent value for money. And being able to roll out of bed and get a stellar cappuccino? Priceless.

I have been staying at the Adge, and previously The Cambridge, for my Sydney trips the past 15 years. It has been consistently great! I have stayed here many times as a solo traveller, also with my mum and partner and recently even with my daughter. I have always loved the location, the service, the cleanliness and the convenience. I feel safe and welcome here and have always loved that I can park right at the hotel and then walk or take transport to go out, eat and explore the city. I also use it as my base when travelling to Sydney for work as getting in and out of the location with car is super easy and then there are fantastic facilities right on my doorstep after a long day of appointments. The Cambridge, as I still like to refer to it, continues to offer fabulous value in one of the coolest parts of the city. Highly recommend.

The location was a great fit for me. It was not very busy in the evening when I arrived, which made things quite relaxing. It is also right across the road from the NSW Police building, so the area felt safe and central. There was staff at the reception even around 11 at night, and they were very friendly. There is a small cafe downstairs in the lobby that serves breakfast. It was a bit busy when I went, but there are plenty of other nice cafes within a short walking distance, so options are not a problem. The hotel itself is very colourful. I am not sure what the exact theme is, but it gives off a graffiti-like vibe. From the lobby to the elevator to the rooms, they have maintained this bright and creative style throughout, which makes the place feel lively and different. I stayed in a Queen room, and it was clean and tidy. The room was small but cozy, with colourful velvet carpets that added warmth. It had all the standard amenities, including a mini fridge and USB-A charging ports. The view was of another building, but that was not really a concern. Overall, it is a lovely boutique hotel with a cheerful atmosphere and a convenient location.

Positives: - Excellent location - Staff are very friendly and helpful - The room was a generous size - Good water pressure as far as hotels go! - It is rare for me to have much interaction with housekeeping but my request for an iron and ironing board was met very courteously and I appreciated them checking if I would like my room refreshed (I was working remotely from the room for a day or two before starting my holidaying) - I didn't need the room refreshed at that time but appreciated being asked. Constructive comments: - I will start by saying it's rare for me to give less than four stars as I know hospitality is a challenging industry and I really do appreciate the care it requires to meet people's needs day in day out. - In saying that, when booking the room the images showed a room with lots of natural light, a quite airy and open vibe. My room was dark, dingy and gloomy. The bedroom 'window' was not a window but just some curtains over some glass with a black wall behind it - absolutely sealed off. The living space window opened up to a dark gap between buildings looking over into other hotel corridors. Very little natural light entered the area even on a sunny day. Waking up on my first morning, it was dark as night and I didn't realise it was already a lot later than I usually wake up naturally, which put my body clock into disarray and I struggled to get any sleep for the remaining 3 nights of my stay. The darkness during the day also set an unpleasant and oppressive atmosphere when I was working from the room for a time (I ended up relocating to the cafe downstairs when I could) and I had to have all the lights on even in the middle of the day. it didn't really put me in a good state of mind to enjoy my stay in Sydney (though ultimately i did). - Minor comment but the pillows were too large/high and solid for me - bent my neck upwards, I had to position two pillows kind of alongside each other and put my head in the gap between them to achieve a more comfortable height.

We had a wonderful stay . We have been three times and each time we have had a great experience. Friendly and very helpful Front desk staff . Going above and beyond when hubby was unwell. Decor is very vibrant and funky . Fantastic location and walking distance to many places. Close to food and tourist spots and train station. Rooms had all required amenities . Anything we needed extra towels or pillows was never a problem. Room was clean and well Maintained . Special mention to manager Paul who goes above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable. We will be back again soon.

I had such a fantastic stay at ADGE Hotel! The place feels fresh, clean, and vibrant from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is modern yet welcoming, and it’s clear they take pride in keeping everything spotless and comfortable. A special mention to Nim at reception, so warm, friendly, and accommodating, making check-in and every interaction a genuine pleasure. It really makes such a difference when the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. I also really appreciate how inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly the hotel is. It has such a positive and open vibe, which made me feel completely at ease during my stay. Highly recommend ADGE Hotel if you’re looking for a stylish, clean, and welcoming place to stay in Sydney!

We stayed at the Adge Hotel for just one night and were really impressed. The location is excellent — close to everything we needed — and the service was exceptional from start to finish. There was a small hiccup with our booking, but the staff went above and beyond to fix it quickly and professionally, which left us even more impressed. The only minor downside was that the air conditioning was a little inconsistent, with the room alternating between too warm and too hot. Overall, though, we had a fantastic experience and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great service and a prime location!

I stayed an a delux king room for 7 nights. I had stayed at the hotel in Jan 2024 and returned becuase I enjoyed the location and atmosphere of the hotel. The service from front desk to cleaning staff was quite friendly and good. The online pictures for the rooms are accurate. This hotel has a hip/chic/new age decor and vibe. It has a cafe that cooks breakfast all day and has delicious bakery items as well. There is a new restaurant also attached that serves modern brazilian dishes. That place comes alive at night with live music and people singing and dancing. The restaurant looks quite nice and the prices are reasonable. The hotel is located within a 10-15 minute walk from the museums and the Central and Museum train stations. It's in a relatively quite area, very close to the Surrey Hills restaurants and night life. It is also close to a gay male district. The area is safe, clean and relatively quite. I would return. I recommend it for adults, singles, couples, business and leisure.
