Without a doubt the most beautiful and relaxing B&B I've ever stayed in. Being able to bring our dog was the major drawcard initially, with the assumption that the real thing wouldn't be as good as the photos, but in reality this place is a revelation. Breathtaking views over the river where you can watch the sunrise from the dining table or hammock, a legit fireplace to warm the home of an evening, the rustic coziness of exposed timber and mud brick construction, abundant wildlife, and just the most beautiful sense of stillness. This is a place to just be. Add to that the sense that the staff all seem to legitimately care for you and your wellbeing (thanks so much for all the thoughtful touches Gavin), and that you're smack bang between pristine national parks, beaches and rivers and it feels almost more like a healing retreat than a B&B lol.
A few practical points
- Units 1&2 have renovated bathroom and kitchen, but those in 5&6 are perfect in their own rustic way (I think all are going to be renovated in a few months)
- Heating is from the fireplace only, so be sure you know how to light one!
- Each unit has its own firewood supply that is topped up daily
- Hot water is mostly gone by the evening
- Kitchen has everything you need other than an espresso machine
- Able to hit 2.5Mbps over 4g, so connectivity is perfectly suitable for streaming, YouTube etc, at least in unit 5. The brick blocks the signal though so much slower in the bedrooms
- TV has HDMI in
