You get what you pay for and it’s not a lot. It’s nothing like those established hotels in town, it’s a decent hotel but don’t compromise your comfort & safety. Stayed here for a couple of nights & I don’t think I’d stay here again, ever. Not that it was terrible I am thankful I even had a room to stay in that worked with my budget but you just weren’t getting a lot. The bed was uncomfortable, it looked so worn there was a very noticeable slump in it. The comforter blankets/pillows had pet hair on it, not a lot but I could tell the color & size of the dog. The room had a certain odor to it & I couldn’t get rid of it. The cleanliness around the room was tidy I just tried not too look too hard to find the obvious though. I wouldn’t recommend to a girl who is traveling alone, the place at night is a little sketchy. Towels were washed but still had stains on them, even the bed sheets. For the cost of the room it is…decent. However, I wouldn’t recommend this place for my family, I’d rather pay a little extra to make sure they feel safe & comfortable. The hotel does offer a bit of amenities but they aren’t great as you can see in the photos, so make sure you have your needs. I didn’t use any of the bedding or towels I was glad I had my own. The worst part was I had gotten some kind of bug bite just every night, idk if it was a mosquito or a spider but it wasn’t okay. Overall, the front desk staff were very helpful in checking me in and patient with my requests regarding to an earlier checkin.

It's ok for a night or 2. There isn't a breakfast 😕 and the hot tub is outside and covered with sheet metal . Then we find out we got double charged for a pet fee, and they won't fix it. Told us they couldn't have possibly made that mistake ,but can't figure out their own rates to equal what the bank is showing they charged our cc. Rooms are clean. I do wish I would have gotten a picture of the 70s-style pink tile in the bathroom .🤨

The room was filthy, despite the HEAVY smell of cleaning products which gave me a headache. The bed was hard and lumpy. Basically, it was a $40 room that we paid $160 for, sight unseen. Reserved online & had to pay up front, no cancellation allowed. James who checked us in was one of the nicest people!! The 70-something year old manager lady, WOW. Honestly, we TRIED to talk to her the next morning and ... hospitality should NOT be her profession. I tried talking to her three times and then then just WALKED 2 buildings over to the name brand competition (E.L.) and got a MUCH better King-size matterss, super comfy, a CLEAN room, and $140 with our senior discount. Do yourself a favor and avoid Adobe. There's a really nice alternative 50 yards away, 2 doors down on the same side of the street, with a nice check-in gentleman and free breakfast.

Mold in bathroom, dirty towels, and came home with bed bugs bites all over my body! Called them to let them know about the infestation in room 214 and was told by the rude older woman working there that it was not from the hotel, end of story. Lovely service. Spend a bit more money and do NOT stay here.

Google
The woman at the front desk is very hard to deal with. She is rude and hung up twice after I asked to speak to a room. I called back and she said she hung up because she thought I was done talking. Tried to explain to her that a… ? Was usually followed with an answer from the person being questioned but apparently it went right over her head. She also informed me she couldn’t discuss a room that I paid for all my info is in front of her. The question was does the room have a phone ??? Not a real tough question. Employees like this is what kills other hard work and livelihood this woman would not work five minutes for me, no customer service skills no compassion, no understanding and unable to admit that she is wrong and offers no apologies for her actions

This is not 3 stars, no way. If I could give this hotel a minus 1 star I would. Have travelled 43 nights on a USA tour and this is BY FAR the worst hotel in America. Of the 43, the worst ….Why? .1. a/c not working. Asked reception and she said ‘how would I know every room is different’ it’s also SUPER loud. 2. Dirty sheets No surprise there was sign at reception saying they had no staff to clean rooms. Also Cheetos or Doritos dust in sheets 3. Furniture is offset ie draws extend past walls. Even the maintenance guy banged his legs as did I in the night 4. Lady at reception was surly, unhappy and not meant to be in the service industry. 5. Walls are flaking, grout is flaking, parking limited. 6. Mound in the microwave Again, worst hotel in America.

I guess you get what you pay for which is not much here. They have new TVs but they should have used that money to fix some drafts and install some weather seals on the doors. People were friendly and service was good but the facilities are rundown.

Mattress was OLD. Very uncomfortable. The mattress was indented. I've had better rooms for the same price

Yelp
One of our worst experiences. We got in late, and tired. We were heckled in and got to our room. The first thing I noticed was the bathtub was filthy. It had dirt, hair and a used bar of soap on the floor. So needles to say. I didn't shower. I decided to just go to bed. I went to lock the door, it would not lock. Please see video. I put the table and chairs in front of the door and went to sleep. The room was hot so I turned down the AC. But it would not stay on. It would turn off and on. The next morning I decided to clean the shower myself and took a shower. When I got out, several gallons of water were on the floor, so it must have a leak. When getting dressed I tried to turn on the mirror light. No surprise it didn't work. Don't waste your money here.

Yelp
Nice staff, room was relatively clean, but the room was not ready until 1 hr after check-in and the bed and pillows were horrible. They both should have been retired over a year ago if not more. Both pillows were lumpy and hardly usable and the bed had deep valleys on both sides with a high middle section. The result was a poor nights sleep with a sore back in the morning. I'm pretty sure there's a law stating the frequency with which beds and pillows must be replaced in hotels/motels and I'm pretty sure both were well overdue for replacement in my room. The coffee was pretty bad and almost undrinkable. I stayed here for $80 and could've payed the same at the Econolodge but chose the Adobe Inn to give my business to a smaller, non-chain business. If I'm ever in Durango again, I'll definitely give the Econolodge a try instead.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting. Dead and live bugs all over the place. Filthy floors. Strange stains on the ceilings. Avoid this place like the plague!

Megan P.

Yelp
This place is TERRIBLE! If you want to experience Durango and get back past 9 pm you are absolutely screwed. They have a sign that says to call a number and the guy is clearly off-site and claims to be 10-15 minutes away. Meanwhile that time passed any and you still can't get into your room. I called for a second time 40 minutes past the time he was going to be at the site and he clearly was not awake and said it was going to be another 20 minutes.

McKenna P.

Yelp
SHARRON was amazing thank you so much for such good hospitality and for the fresh brewed coffee

Yelp
Ug...what a s*^t hole. We were traveling to Colorado Spgs from AZ and booked here prior to leaving. On the phone the man booked us and quoted one price and when we arrived they told me another. I also asked the phone guy if he could send me the itinerary and he refused. Should have known right then this wasn't the place but no, I'm genuinely trying to practice mindfulness and be grateful that I got a room that accepts a pet. Namaste Anyway, we arrive and the place is rough, smelly and looked like section 8 housing. The kid at the front desk, not phone guy, was super cool. He couldn't get me the first and better price but he was very nice. We decided to stay because it was late and Durango was almost booked. So they had us! The room smelled of smoke, outdoor sound was as if we were sleeping with the windows open. All sorts of creepy men roaming about smoking and drinking. In short, pass this one by.

Yelp
This is NOT a family place AT ALL. We stopped here for the night on our way out of the area, after staying in a beautiful cabin up in the mountains. We weren't originally planning on staying an additional night but made some plans after checking out of our cabin and ended up needing a place for the night before leaving town. We have 4 kids, ages 16-5, we are on a budget. We just jumped on a hotel discount app and booked adobe inn. Reviews seemed fine and it was a good deal so we took our chances. Upon arrival, it was evident the place was very old and out of date: popcorn ceiling, orange carpet, faded, pilling and tearing bedspreads, very saggy beds--all of which we could have been okay with for one night. We are from AZ, and legal marijuana is not a thing there--nor did we expect that it would be an issue at a hotel, but I guess that just shows our ignorance. We soon became aware of intense odors in one of our rooms. We called the front desk guy, thinking there was something wrong with the a/c or evaporative cooler. The guy didn't notice a problem. We called him up a little later, as the smell was intense. (It smelled like skunk odor--which I mentioned to the guy). At this point, he noticed the smell right away and immediately went to the trash can right outside the door, to show me what was the remains of a marijuana cigarette. "Sorry," he says. "We don't normally like the guests to smoke right outside the doors." [hmmm, interesting. Tell me about these ash trays you've got lining the walkways...] "The second hand smoke gets sucked right into your room through the a/c unit." Great. I removed my kids from the room to our second room (several doors down) and we did our best to air out the smell. But no dice. The same odor started being piped into our second room (where my four kids and I are trying to take refuge). At that point, we said enough is enough. We quickly loaded our belongings at 10:30pm (along with our sleeping 5 year old) into the car, got a refund and left for the nearest hotel (which happened to be in New Mexico, as everything else in Durango was booked for the 4th of July). The front desk guy tried to tell us (when we went to ask for a refund) that it was an actual skunk. Imagine that! So--it's not the guy right beneath us smoking weed in the chair right outside his door? Nor is it the crowd of people around the corner smoking weed? Wow--that's amazing! He did finally agree to give our money back--thank goodness. The clear draw to this place is the freedom to smoke weed right outside the door of your room. They have ash trays outside every other door and trash cans as well. There is no oreason a person would want to stay here, as it is dingy and old. So--if smoking weed is your thing, and breathing in second hand smoke (having it piped right into your sleeping quarters, no less) then this is the place for you! But for everyone else: STEER CLEAR!! UPDATE: we never received our promised refund. I called and spoke to the manager this morning (who denied any knowledge of our situation--all of our previous communications had been with the front desk guy). She was extremely uncooperative and abrasive and had no interest in our situation. I was flatly told that she would issue no refund. I explained that we would dispute the charge with our credit card company and her response was: you do whatever you feel you need to do. We attempted to dispute through Priceline and again, the manager was completely uncooperative. We are now attempting to dispute through our credit card company. This has been a complete nightmare!! STAY AWAY!!!!

Yelp
The pool was boarded up. The carpet was severely stained. The windows were old and did not open/close, but had interesting little sliding doors to cover them. Room had an odor. Door didn't latch on its own and had to be rather strongly pushed/pulled closed to latch/lock. Bathroom seemed clean, if in need of a facelift. Linens were clean. Beds were clean albeit hard. At least it was cheap.

David J.

Yelp
NO POOL !!!!!Be aware of $300 deposit pet fee!!! When staying with your furchild seems like no privacy (felt like our vehicle was being watched by someone lurking around we were asked if we have a pet and if they find out they would charge $300) after telling them we have our small pet they charged $20 extra to add him next time I will bring my horse (NO POOL!!!) I think if they going to charge for pets I think they should at least be more friendly to pets with fenced in area to stretch legs a corral perhaps for $300 deposit

Greg H.

Yelp
Stayed here last night. Great price 54.95 with tax for a single and great room. New furnishings. Super clean and quiet. Much nicer than the motel 6 I stayed at the night before in Ogden and only 3.00 more. Best deal I've found this whole trip.

Chowie E.

Yelp
This was a $45 room in quality that I paid $128 per night for. I was very disappointed but too tired and hot to get on the phone and try to find a better place. It was not as advertised. Allow me to list a few objections: 1. Check in was very slow and in the agreement you had exactly 30" to accept the room or your money was lost; 2. The insides of the room were quite old and the carpet yucky; 3. The bathroom door was notched in order to get it past the toilet(!); 4. There was a "carry-out" window over the sink vanity as if it were a Wendy's or a MacDonalds at some point. Very strange; and lastly, 5. the owners have written to me 4 times already telling me my opinion is not valid through the booking service. FOUR times because their opinion is the only one that matters. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Mike K.

Yelp
Front desk guy out front getting stoned, Then later outside yelling and swearing at someone for something, ants in bathroom, tiny rooms, paper thin walls, windows that barely close/lock, seen better days. If this is what Durango is now all about avoid the town. It used to be my favorite place for taking the fam.

Steven W.

Yelp
I have been pleasantly surprised by my stay. The room was very clean and the mattress was comfortable. I have stayed at many hotels in Durango and for 60.00 night this was an incredible deal. The basics, hot shower, nice bed, internet, light breakfast were all ok. All in All a good experience for one of the best priced deals in Durango.

Lissa S.

Yelp
... So this is the place you see on TV were stuff goes down at the hotel in the middle of the night and the police have to be called not once but 2x. Yelling, people banging on doors, running up and downstairs...honking the horn over and over again at 5am. Complained to the office when they opened at 7. They said we should have called the manager...like who the heck is supposed to know to do that at 2:30am... So basically they didn't care that no one got any sleep and had a long day of driving ahead of them. Is it cheap? Yes....Is it clean? Meh....Is it questionable? Very...Would I stay here again? Never Super sketchy place.

Aerial J.

Yelp
the price of the hotel was not what I was promised, the rooms were not up to par. It was honestly not what I was expecting from what I had seen in the photos.

Debbie L.

Yelp
Great hotel and great service! Have stayed at the Adobe several times and every time, the front office has been very friendly and helpful with anything that their customers might need. Great value and especially since many of the rooms have been remodeled.

Jimmy D.

Yelp
This hotel is horrible, the manager and desk jockey gave away our booking that we booked through Priceline, and then told us it's not their fault and that they wouldn't help us find a room, basically putting my wife, 8 month old baby and myself out on the road, with no where to stay! Cheers guys I hope You go bankrupt with your two stars.

Johanna L.

Yelp
I'd heard good things from a friend but was really disappointed. The floor in the room was dirty. There was no hot water for showers in the morning (it lasted 5 minutes and there were two people needing showers). The jacuzzi only has one jet that works. We asked for directions and ended up going in the wrong direction from where we wanted to go. Totally overpriced for all this.

Rich B.

Yelp
Clean room, no complaints $100 a night got my money worth. 10 short blocks from downtown

Valerie K.

Yelp
Great Place! I would recommend to anyone staying in Durango! Great rates and it has always been so clean and quiet! A real hidden gem!

Dorothy W.

Yelp
Beds are ancient and very very uncomfortable. Place seems clean but beds and pillows are horrible. Don't stay here. Not worth $69 a nite plus tax

Kenneth B.

Yelp
I stayed here about a month ago. No working a.c.. beds sucked. An to top it off I got charged 200 bucks for a cleaning fee for smoking. I don't smoke! All an all complete dump. An they steal from the guest to boot!

Becca H.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars, I would but that's not an option so 1 star it is. I called and booked a room this morning. The lady on the phone, who happens to be the manager, took my credit card info, told me she was charging my card, and confirmed a pet friendly room. At 10pm, on a very busy, holiday weekend, we showed up and they didn't have our reservation. The guy working the desk was somewhat apologetic but said, "this is very frustrating of my coworker because I just dealt with the same situation a few minutes ago." On a positive note, Tyler at the Best Western was awesome and had a room available. They will be getting a 5 star review because of service. And the rooms were clean.

Chris D.

Yelp
While traveling the southwest I stayed here on 05/06/14. The motel looks better from the outside than the rooms do from the inside. The whole place needs to be updated badly. The carpet in the room was dingy and needs replacing. The price of the room with AAA was $60 plus tax. I don't recommend this motel unless and until they spend some money re-doing it. I will also say that it is close to and convenient for getting downtown.

Cameron W.

Yelp
What a dump! Windows won't open (probably a code violation), dirt piled in corners of woodwork, only outlet other than the bathroom doesn't work, no grab handle in tub, dim lighting. It goes without saying there is no microwave, refrigerator or coffee maker. Cost just under $80 is low but not low enough. Go somewhere else.

Chad B.

Yelp
Great welcome by a young man behind the desk. He even offered for us to see the room first. There are no plush amenities, but that's any small hotel. Very clean rooms.

Andie A.

Yelp
To be honest I was worried about staying here because of the bad reviews but I had a pleasant one day stay, it's right on the main street and close to downtown plaza and thats a plus. The room was clean, we had hot water and a good nights rest. I'm glad we stayed here for a good price would stay again 7/10.

Kathie S.

Yelp
First of all, we stayed here based on the good reviews on the various websites. Secondly, I'm giving this an "a okay" rating BUT ONLY BECAUSE we had no hot water on Saturday morning when we showed! The room was 209. When we checked in, the attendant gave it to us for a reasonable rate because 1) it was small and 2) it faced the street (Highway 160, four-lane highway). So, we will NOT criticize on either of those points. We knew going in there would be street noise and it was small. The room was very, very clean; it was nicely decorated and quite comfortable. No complaints there. Even had a nice little fridge, microwave, and small electric fireplace!!! We slept well since there wasn't much traffic at night but by 6:30, the traffic noise was awful - again we knew that. So, my husband got up and showered. He came out and told me it was barely lukewarm. So, I went in to brush my teeth and wash my face - with again, barely lukewarm water. I let the shower run a good 5-10 minutes; got in an still lukewarm. I showered; washed my hair; and was in there a good 5-10 minutes. As I was rinsing off, the water finally was getting to be what I would call "warm". When we checked out, I mentioned it to the woman at the desk and her comment was: "Well, we've had no other complaints"! I don't give a rip; we had NO HOT WATER FOR SHOWERS IN THAT ROOM! Don't give me that kind of response. We would stay there again because it truly is a nice, comfortable, convenient place BUT NOT IN ROOM 209! The front desk staff needs to learn how to address the client's comments!

Bryanna S.

Yelp
The room has been "renovated" if you count a coat of paint as renovated. There are no phones in the rooms. Period. So if you have any questions you have to walk to the lobby to ask questions. When I went to the lobby they said it cost them too much money to have phones in the rooms.they do not provide breakfast and the front desk staff seemed unconvinced that I was asking questions. Overall.. Ok room. Crappy wifi. And no customer service..

Tom R.

Yelp
Cramped parking lot, a little dingy, but easy to find, easy to navigate from, everything was as advertised, everything in the room was clean and worked as it should, and staff was friendly and attentive. Great value for the price considering the cost of other hotels in this town.

Theresa M.

Yelp
Thieving mgr stole $200 from us by claiming we had been smoking pot in the room charged our credit card. We only knew this by checking our account the day after we left. No one contacted us Neither of us, both professionals on vacation , even smoke cigarettes. Mgr hung up on us refusing to answer our dispute of charges. Refused to give owner info. We contacted better business bureau. Room was dirty towels smelled. Mattress was old and has big hole in center. Not worth being stolen from. Beware. Go somewhere else!!!!!

Matt W.

Yelp
Not a nice stay. Ants in the room. Staff was very rude plus cops kept showing up. Basic room, no phone, windows didn't open, and not sound proof at all. I guess you get what you pay for.
