Adolfo's Taco Shop

First time. (did I rate this already??) I ordered super nachos. It was HUGE, AND delicious, with pulled beef for the meat. I think I got three meals out of "one." Next time, I will ask if they offer a half-serving. Prices are good. Service, friendly. Lots of parking.

Warmly greeted upon arrival. Exceptional food and great customer service, well worth visiting. Bathroom while clean has a locking issue with the door. It's at the far East end of the Safeway plaza behind the Wendy's in the strip mall. Has a solid unmistakable small town hole in the wall vibe, but the food more then makes up for it. We shared the two beef burritos plate with rice and beans. The rice was good, but nothing special. The beans were extremely flavorful and tasted unusually fresh, absolutely killer. I had a side of chips that proved wonderful. The beef burritos came hand burning can't eat it hot. They were full of stewed beef, onions and peppers. An absolute culinary treat to the taste buds. The accompanying salsa was the bomb.

My husband was hungry, it was late and we were driving. We stopped for some tacos. Service was quick, but not too quick as though our food would have been sitting under a warmer somewhere! It was hot and fresh and delicious!

Big portions, you won't leave hungry! The young man at the counter was nice. Service was fast. Food was exactly as we expected. I just wish they switched to cardboard instead of styrofoam.

Previously I've never had a problem with the Benson location, love their food! I always order the same thing shredded beef enchiladas combination, today however, I was truly disappointed! There was some kind of green pepper and maybe a tsp of been in the whole plate!!!! Won't be going back...

Great little taqueria in Benson. Portions are large, food is delicious and service typically quite fast. It’s far from the fanciest place, but it’s definitely our go-to for quick take out that is delicious and fills our teen boys without breaking the bank.

The chicken tacos were good, rice and beans were ok, nothing special, I asked for ground beef tacos and got shredded beef that was not seasoned. The taco shells are homemade and good. This is probably not a place we would eat at again

Best bean burro in of Arizona. I’d be willing to drive 30 mins each way to get a burro! Always super nice people

What a dive, but good food at a good price. Quick counter service of freshly prepared food. This was our first visit. Just happened to come across it from our return to Tucson after a day in Bisbee. We wanted something quick, good and not fast food . . . Adolfo's Taco Shop takes care of all three. A new Taco Bell has opened directly across the parking lot from Adolfo's Taco Shop, but we observed a steady stream of customers coming thru. We sat down to eat, but it appears all their business is phone-in/takeout. Tacos are good size as are their burritos. Salsa is tasty. If passing thru, we'll come again to try other menu items.

Great little hole in the wall atmosphere. I stopped there twice and ordered the green chile burrito. The tortilla was cooked perfectly and the pork in the chile was moist and tender with lots of green chile sauce. Will def be back when I go through there.

Absolutely delicious food! So generous! The restaurant ambiance is lacking, but the smells coming from the kitchen were yummy! We love to support small business and I'm glad we came here. There's a Taco Bell right in front of them and I wished we could persuade the people in the drive thru to come to Adolfo's for actual food, not corporate garbage.

Excellent Mexican fast food. This is my go to Mexican fast food in Benson. I discover it about 5 or 6 years ago, it's my go to place to go. I usually go for something with Carnitas.

3.5 First time there, eaten in Willcox for lunch and dinner 20+ times the past few years. The taste was pretty good I had Shrimp platter so Shrimps and rice and beans and corn tortillas and the Hibiscus tea/tea was tasty. Shrimps were small and the portion of rice and beans was too small. Service great lady and cook very nice...place is very clean bathroom spotless. If I go again I'd try Carnitas plate. was a walk from motel...worth trying.

Great fast service and delicious. We got chicken tacos and beef burrito, the taco shells were homemade and awesome. My husband loved his burrito. We were in and out in under 10 mins. Only four stars because the ambiance isnt great, but the food makes up for it if you're looking for a quick place to stop.

The staff are brain dead and charged us 35.00 for two drinks and two burritos. The place filthy and smells like chemicals. When we asked about the extraordinary price that did not add up the guy behind the counter gage us a blank stare and charged the card. Only after we complained he stormed out and gave us some money back. This place is a sad excuse for Mexican food. But it's the offensive, rude, horrible counter server that makes it a place to avoid.

The food here is better than any other Mexican food within 30 miles! The carnitas torta is excellent!! The beans are creamy and the rice is on point! They make authentic enchiladas, burritos and Chile rellenos!! Be kind to your taste buds and try this really good food!

I stopped by this place early afternoon after walking the Texas Canyon Trail run earlier. I was hungry! I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the food came out promptly and was well-presented. My platter was under $11 and filling. As others have mentioned, the interior of this diner looks old, but it was clean and spacious when I was there. I sat at a table against the wall and watched the constant stream of customers. The front counter gal wore a face mask and there's a sign on the door in both English and Spanish saying that masks are required to enter. All food is served to-go. This diner is at the far left of a strip mall. The parking lot was badly littered. All the businesses really should help keep the area clean.

We had a ham breakfast burrito and a bacon breakfast burrito. Both piping hot and very good. Both the red and green sauces were good as well.

After my first visit at this little taco shop I can say with confidence that all the reviews have made good correct points. So I will not review Those points. However, a thorough deep clean and fresh paint with fresh color And trim would do a lot for that place. My negatives are few. My combo plate of cheese enchiladas with tostado was cold., enchilada sauce was chilled, the few pieces of cheese in the Cheese Enchiladas were fully intact. The refried beans were cold, rice dry and no flavor. The salsa was canned and tasted old - maybe going bad. The fried tortilla was really good. This place is hit or miss. The staff is not interested in the success of the place - no one was working - the 2 that I saw looked and acted hung over, nice but hung over. Go at your own risk and maybe you can hit on a good day. I hope so as the food tastes like it has potential if someone pays attention.

Stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon. It was not too busy, they got our order out to us wishing 10 minutes. We ate in the dining room, but 3 people came in to pick up their orders. I had the super nachos which were good, and I could not finish them. My husband had the beef burritos plate with rice and beans. He really enjoyed his.

Ordered Carne Asada with beans and rice. Don't think it was in there had to ask for my glass of water and tried to short me 20 bucks on my change somewhere else.

Great little hole in the wall authentic Mexican Food while passing through from California to Texas !!! Recommend to anyone in the area and the food was good and delicious and the service was great !!

The prices have gone up way too much. But, that's like anything else. If you want a huge burrito, quickly, it's a great place to go. It's fresh and always consistent.

I have lived in Benson for more than 10+ years. This restaurant is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants to go to. The food is always good, fresh, and priced fairly. If you want a good meal, this is the place to go for one maybe two people if you're trying to feed a family, think twice about what you're ordering because it can become pricey. Do I recommend it? Yes just be aware that Mexican food is pricey anyway. Fresh taste, fresh food,always hot and always good.

Good food. Especially for takeout. I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Nice staff too. Enjoy

Very good! We generally take out. The carne asada burrito is huge! The chicken tacos are fabulous.

Although this business does not look like the one in the picture, it is actually at the anchor of a strip mall. It's a no nonsense Mexican food place. I had the Carne Asada torta which was better than average and my beautiful loving wife had a chorizo and egg burrito, and that's what it was chorizo and eggs, hence no nonsense. Although there was a sign out front that said masks are required, none of the staff nor any of the approximately six other customers were mask up other than my wife and I There is only a soda fountain no refrigerator for Mexican Coke, beer, bottled waters.

It's Mexican fast food done right! It's my favorite in the Benson area. I've been there about 6 times and it's always good. My favorite it the carnitas torta! Try it and your taste buds will love you!!

Great food, prices a little higher than expected. Taco is $3.50, plates were $8 but include rice and beans. Two plates, two sodas $22.03. Service was fast and friendly. Taste was yummy! We were glad we found a place that was open on a Sunday evening on our road trip back to Phoenix

Food is pretty good but the prices are off the charts now. My fav breakfast burrito used to be $6.20 after tax. Now it's $9.46. Thatza 52% hike!

Great Mexican food. Usually they are pretty fast as well. For a while the place was pretty dumpy, unclean, and just not a place we'd care to eat in at. Then recently they improved it with new upkeep, lots of paint, and some decent cleaning. But with the cleaner store came the much inflated prices. We like the food, but for their price tag it should be a fancy dining in experience. So basically it's a fast food in and out, but costs are sit-in fees. We've been avoiding it for that reason, plus there are a number of Mexican eateries in Benson that are as good if not far better than Adolfo's which we can sit down, enjoy the company of conversation with friends and get the full experience of a nice dining experience. Too much fast food nowadays, so we prefer the dining in method instead.

Real Mexican food!! Not Tex-Mex, which is made with cumin. I lived in San Diego for 50 years, and this is exactly like the food that was so tasty in Tijuana. Just go...and enjoy!

A bit of a rip off. I got the Rolled Tacos with a pinch of meat in them. I've been to plenty of hole in the wall places that turn out to be the best but this is not one of them.

Needs a deep cleaning. Floors, windows, ceiling, and ceiling vents dirty and grungy. Tables not cleaned. Hard to trust the cleanliness of the kitchen when the dining area is grungy. We did takeout burritos which were good. Ordered chips and cheese thinking it would be chips with cheese dip, but instead were chips with chees melted onto them (dry).

Tried the chicken burrito, beef burrito and Carne asada taco. All good, and all HOT! This is a little corner dive, as many good taco shops are. Don't let the pictures deceive - the portions are pretty big! The salsa didn't have much flavor, but the green at least offered some spice. Next time I'll be sure to get my food to go. The drive home will allow the food to cool some, and I can enjoy it with a cold margarita at the house!

Best food in town. Every time I go there the food is consistent the food is delicious I order a number three and a number nine and we're very happy always

We stopped in here on our way back from Tombstone. While walking in, our first impressions were dated decor and a lack of cleanliness. We decided to overlook those and dine anyway. The young lady taking our order was cheerful and helpful. We ordered and sat down. Our food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. I had a machaca burrito, and my wife had the taco combo plate. My burrito had eggs, peppers and onions, which are to be expected. It also had these really white spots in it. I couldn't tell if it was rice or riced potatoes, but either way it really did nothing to enhance the burrito. My wife's taco plate also left something to be desired. The tacos were so-so, and the rice wasn't great. The beans were better than average, though. The food was two stars on Yelp's ratings (meh. I've experienced better.) The lack of cleanliness and dingy decor didn't boost that rating at all.

Looking for a place for a quick lunch. Had the shredded Beef tacos. Not bad the shell was a bit greasy. Other wise not bad tacos. You need to read the wall to see the menu. Fairly clean seemed to be somewhat busy for a week day around noon.

For a small town taco shop, it's everything you'd want. Good food at a good price. It's clean for what it is and its locally owned!

Quaint setting with ever so tastey choices. We thoroughly enjoyed a medium sized order of carnitas with a side of beans. Very generous portions at a very reasonable price.

This was a good spot for a quick meal. The beans and rice were actually very good and the meal over all was good. Nothing super special here. It's open where as many of not anything else is open. Enjoyed their meal and came out warm and ready to go. Standard Mexican food menu with decently priced specials. You won't bust your budget coming here for good food.

Decent not spectacular Mexican food. It's at the far far end of the mall after the Dollar Store so don't give up like we almost did- its almost invisible.

Good food and decent place. The paint inside is nice. They should play music. Definitely too quiet. Popular with locals. The smell is of floor cleanser. If I was them I'd prop open the door and let in some fresh air. Their best advantage is they're open.

Pretty good food. Reasonable prices. Nice people. The place is charming in a "midway" kind of way but the food is pretty good.

This is the best Mexican food we've eaten. The burritos are so good. I also had the chicken enchiladas and it's just all mind-blowing delicious. You've got a secret food haven in this small town and you should definitely give them a try!

I got the super fries. It comes with carne asada, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and cheddar cheese. I got mine without sour cream. Just like every other restaurant like it in the state, it's a huge portion. As soon as I started eating it, it tasted really bland. There was no flavor what so ever. I had to put salt on it to get some flavor. Will I go back? Not sure. We'll see.

Wow, wow, wow! Stayed in Benson last night en route to El Paso and stopped in here for breakfast. Best decision of the trip this far. Had an amazing chorizo and egg burrito and folks, it was dig-doggity bomb! If I'm ever anywhere near Adolfo's again, guaranteed I'm heading back!

Food was quite tasty, plentiful, and a decent price. I recommend getting your order to go as the interior is kinda trashy looking. Their menu is quite large so lots of options. I had the fish tacos and they were some of the best I've had. Wife had chicken enchiladas and the red sauce was flavorful with just a bit of heat. Good stop for a Mexican fix when you want to grab and go.

Delicioso! We were traveling across the country and really wanted something different than the way-too-many burgers and fries we had along the way. Adolfo's was SO GOOD. If you're driving through, or if you live in this area and haven't discovered it yet, PULL OVER NOW and order a chicken enchilada. It's an experience you won't soon forget! YUM!!!!!

The food is not too bad.... not good at all but not horrible.... what I cannot understand is how and why they allow this place to be so filthy. I see a layer of dirt on the windows and covered in bugs. Every moment is a fight to keep the flys off. The entire place needs to be emptied... bug bombed... bleached... then bleached again. Unbelievable how it would pass any health inspections. Luckily for me I will never be here again and am just passing through on my way back to Los Angeles. Never again. It is filthy. Beware!

If I could give this place a minus, I would! When I arrived the windows and doors were dirty (bad sign); it was lunch time and only 1 person in the restaurant (bad sign); the young girl behind the counter was literally staring past me, staring in space with a scowl on her face like working here was her worst punishment; even when I said hi to her (because she did not greet me), she still stared off into space and would not acknowledge me! Then I looked at the menu, on the wall, it looked like all plates were about $10 each! Really? Dirty, filthy, strip mall restaurant! I was so put off by everything that I saw up to this point, I turned around and walked out!

Disgusting! Actually garbage on the table out front! The front and dining area are simply below any standard you can imagine! Since Covid season the simply barricaded the hall to bathroom with what ever handy. Old tables and chairs. The place hasn't had a thorough cleaning in what looks like years! How are we supposed to imagine the kitchen is any better. Owners should be ashamed for not taking a day off and scrubbing the place down. At least get the garbage off outside table and sweep out front. Astounding lack of respect for the customers. To be avoided except for the haunted house curiosity it presents.

Small shop located in a shopping strip. Nothing fancy, you can eat inside but we choose to take out. Burritos are basic but very large, I had the carne asada which was very tasty. Husband had carnitas which he said was good except that guacamole had more onions and tomatoes than avacado so that a was negative for my picky hubby. There is a small charge to use cards.

Large portions and decent prices. Hole in the wall type place. Food was just ok but it was convenient to get to. We only tried the combo 6- taco/burrito so it's possible there are better things to choose. There were quite a few locals getting food which tells me it had to be better than we experienced personally. Don't expect cleanliness. The bathrooms were pretty bad. It was quick tho. I was starving and didn't get a pic of the food.
