If you haven’t eaten at Ado’s you need to fix that! Everything is delicious! The goat cheese and beet salad was fresh and amazing! Then we had pad Thai which was perfection. Our other friend had basil chicken and he cleaned his plate. Then we had tres leches cake and licked the plate clean! Ado is so kind and his food is amazing! Such a gem!

Amazing food. Great unique eggs Benedict… delicious… eclectic amazing menu. Definitely a repeat. Sorry. Forgot to take a picture before.

Google
Exceptional food (Shrimp Arrabbiata, Pad Thai, Chicken Parmesan, Mushroom Omelet) and very reasonably priced. No one in our group was disappointed with their selection. Will definitely make this restaurant a stop on our next trip to Boulder...what a gem!

Google
We had great food and good service at Ado's for brunch. This place should be added to any list of must try in Boulder. The Bloody Mary's were delicious. Our group universally loved their meals; plantain breakfast, steak and eggs burrito, pad Thai, avocado toast, egg plant Florentine, and papusas. The avocado toast, burrito, and egg plant were the standouts for our group. There was no problem with the service, just a little slow, which I'm guessing was a result of us being one of the first tables of the morning.

Google
The food was amazing! Great service. Chicken Fried Chicken is to die for. Eggplant Florentine was great and unique We had a great Sunday brunch here.

Ado’s is a foodies hidden gem on the hill in Boulder! The chef creates flavorful masterpieces to delight any pallet. It was heart warming to support a local entrepreneur within the community. You must go and take your friends, we will definitely be back. Then you for an incredible evening : )

The girl and I stopped in late Sunday morning for breakfast. The restaurant was clean and has a nice ambience, with tables and booths in one room and a full bar in the other. Our server greeted left an immediate positive impression and continued to provide great service throughout our meal. She ordered some sort of Benedict Salmon Florentine dish that had polenta cakes instead of English muffins and man, the dish was great. She was nice enough to let me have two bites. Lol! I ordered the chicken fried chicken and scrambled eggs, which also comes with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. It sounded a little weird for a breakfast menu, but I figured they put it on there for a reason and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious. I’m not kidding when I say that those mashed potatoes are possibly the best I’ve ever had and for breakfast! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the chicken fried chicken cutlet was crispy and light and seasoned so well. Seriously, this was unexpectedly one of the best meals we’ve had in Boulder, including most of the “fancier” places. We are going back this weekend!

Came in for appetizers, drinks and dinner. Staff was friendly, kitchen staff prepared all the food perfectly. The chef inspired dishes were flavorful and some of the best presentations I've experienced. A must do dining experience.

Yelp
What a surprise to find such great food on the hill in Boulder. The chicken marsala was great.

Yelp
Amazing food. Great service. Small and quaint. We were up near Boulder and wanted to have a late lunch/ early dinner. When we arrived they were serving their lunch menu but we really wanted pasta so they brought us the dinner menu. Everything was SO good. My son actually had a burger and said it was "the best burger" he has had in a long time. The rest of us had pasta that was amazing including one family member who had gluten free rice noodle that she said were amazing! Definitely adding this place to our Boulder list of great restaurants!

Yelp
Got emails saying my reservation was confirmed for brunch and then a reminder that morning. Show up and they're closed. No notification at all. Will never try to eat here again. Fix your communications system.

Yelp
I loved this place so much. The place is very cute and interesting. The decor ranges from French, to old Chinese currency, and a New Orleans poster. The menu has an eclectic array of foods, some Italian and some Latin. Loved the Salvadoran choices. We tried the mushroom crepes, the Salvadoran shrimp and chicken marsala . The mushroom crepes were delicious. The fondue sauce was amazing and the mushrooms were so savory. The Salvadoran shrimp has a delicious sauce with rice and salad. The rice is flavorful, maybe enhanced with chicken broth and salad was perfectly cut (no big salad pieces). The chicken marsala was our favorite. We enjoyed the taste of the sauce, the texture of the chicken and the combo with the risotto. Loved it! Service was great.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner before a show at the Fox theater. What a gem! The menu is full of intriguing options, selection was difficult. We decided to split a grilled Caesar and then had the pork chops and the lamb burger. All the food was outstanding and super delicious. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Boulder.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant based on recommendations from our daughter who lives in Boulder. To look at it from the street, you wouldn't know if it was even open...they may need some signage or something to draw people in...but, the service, food and drinks were AHHHHHMAZING!!!! We went for dinner. The owner was very attentive and brought us some roasted Brussel Sprouts (compliments of the chef) and they were also delish! My youngest daughter has Celiac Disease and he was very attentive to that as well. I ordered the Chicken Piccata & it was INCREDIBLE! This place is a hidden gem, if you are contemplating eating on The Hill in Boulder, DON'T OVERLOOK this place...you won't be disappointed! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Creative menu selections by a chef who is proud of his work! I had the best Brussels sprouts appetizer I've ever had! I loved the chicken Marsala with a twist. This family run place also offers a full bar to complement your meal.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner on Friday and once again it was delicious! We love Ado and his food!!!

Yelp
Nice place on University Hill for lunch or dinner. Menu features a variety of sandwiches and pastas, as well as an eclectic selection of entrees. Everything is reasonably priced, and over a few visits the food has always been excellent. Nice comfortable dining area. Make a reservation if there's a big event on campus the evening you want to dine.

Yelp
We are from out of town and when we arrived in Boulder, I wanted to get some solid American food. I searched on yelp and found Ado's Kitchen. I'm SO glad we ate here. The food is AMAZING! we got their Fried Brussels sprouts, Prime rib sandwich, and Carbonara. Their Carbonara was one of the most DELICIOUS Carbonara dishes I've ever had. The way they cooked it was amazing and the pasta itself was just spectacular. They were in the middle of a food photoshoot when we arrived and the owner was very kind and gave us an extra meat dish with mashed potatoes and green beans for free from the photoshoot. I'm so glad we came here to eat. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious!

Yelp
When we arrived on Sunday morning after our hike we stopped in to Ados. They looked like they had no idea someone would show up for brunch on a Sunday morning but there they were. We were off to a rocky start especially when the man who took our orders only asked my friend what she wanted to drink and then I just sat there like, "ummm...okay, it's fine no coffee for me." He did correct it after another five minutes if awkwardness. I have the eggplant Florentine and my friend had a big burrito I think? They were both actually really good and Made up for the lack of service and preparedness we felt. Probably won't go back, but if you happen to be on this street and it's not breakfast I'd give them a try considering they had an entire lunch and dinner menu as well.

Yelp
Just ate dinner here. It took about 10 minutes for a waiter to wander out and seat us, which was not a good sign. Also, the ambient temperature inside is very cold. I ordered a kabocha squash dish that sounded appealing. It turned out to be deep fried and stuffed with cheese, and served on a bed of the sweetest red sauce I've ever tasted. This dish is genuinely disgusting, the worst thing I've tried to eat in many years. Under no circumstances would I dream of coming back.

Joshua S.

Yelp
Ambiance is dated. Very much like a 90's pub rather than a place I'd expect great food. Served was great. Burger special (lamb) was damn good. Close to campus.
google avatar

Gabrielle W.

Yelp
Overlooked fine dinning on the hill. My family and I walked here for brunch and were pleasantly surprised by the attentive service and delicious breakfast dishes. It has a comfortable old school feeling with red leather booths. I believe it was the owner that served us and he showed us great care in our experience here at Ado's. We will be coming back!

B S.

Yelp
This place is actually terrible. Waited an hour to be told they wouldn't serve anyone, this place is ran by people who have no idea what's going on at night time. I would give -2 stars if I could. I will gladly go somewhere else!

Yelp
Ados food is the best food all around boulder. Great prices around and just a 10/10. Definitely go here you will have the best time ever! Ado is also just fantastic!!! Service is 100/10

Yelp
Loved the Brussels sprouts and the burgers . Quiet and casual. Not too expensive and good quality.

June B.

Yelp
Love this place! Never went while I was a student but now as staff I love this place. Everything on the menu is so good. And fun bar too.

Lisa S.

Yelp
The food and drinks were phenomenal. Service was a little slow, but he had a surge of people come in at once. I recommend this restaurant.

Chantelle B.

Yelp
had a great lunch at Ado's today, you must try the lamb burger! Best burger I've ever eaten
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
Fantastic food! I went with a group of 7 people, and each dish got rave reviews. I had the chicken marsala on risotto cooked to perfection. We also had calamari and the fried Brussels sprouts...all excellent. We were wondering if we made a good choice as it was empty when the rest of the restaurants are full, but it was a case of this restaurant being in the wrong place of cheap and easy food. Ado is great and does a fantastic job.

Alan M.

Yelp
Have eaten here many times, both brunch and dinner. Never had a bad meal. A remarkably diverse, international menu, in a casual environment, with everything cooked to perfection. Hard to pass up the mushroom crepes or the brussels sprouts, whatever else we might order. Ado's is one of our favorite restaurants in Boulder. The chef/owner is a caring and passionate person, who always tries to please.

Yelp
Our brunch experience was absolutely outstanding. Went on a Sunday and it was a little slow so I think we got there after the rush about 1:15. The place has two entrances one is the restaurant side, and the other door takes you into a small but very fun bar to watch the games. I haven't been this impressed by brunch food in a very long time. I think it was a very unordinary concept of eggs Benedict. What I ordered was a spin of it but instead of the ham I had their delicious bacon. It was served on a polenta cake, underneath that was a creamy pesto sauce and I was blown away on how fresh and delicious everything was. I never had eggs Benedict with bacon so now I guess that will be my new thing. The owner, the wait staff, the kitchen peeps every buddy were so welcoming. I WOULD go back in the next time I go to Boulder I might just have to visit this place. It is a walk from Pearl Street eybut worth every step.

Ashley S.

Yelp
I wish I could give Ados kitchen a 1000/10. This place has the best brunch and dinner. I have personally tried over 2/3rds of the menu and it still amazes me. If there was one place in boulder I would recommend for food and serivce it is Ados kitchen!!!
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
My nieces love this restaurant and have waited 2 years for Covid to return. (they visit from out of town). Their favorites are Pad Thai, Mushroom crepes, and Pupusas Plate. Bonus on this visit (5/18) was our order was taken by Ado himself!
google avatar

Will T.

Yelp
I love this place so much. The prime rib sandwich and the fried chicken are out of this world. Ado, the owner, is a nice guy and he runs an excellent restaurant. I would argue that Ados and The Sink are the two best restaurants on the Hill. By the way, order a "breakfast shot" from the bar

Vipin B.

Yelp
Best in town Great kitchen, excellent service!!! I would highly recommend the marsala
google avatar

Mindy B.

Yelp
Everything was cooked from scratch. We were in town for college tours on Tuesday. I'm so happy we stopped here. The food was amazing. Veggies were fresh, flavor was on point! I had the Ramen noodles (delicious) my husband had the Turkey dip and cleaned his plate. My boys plates were great too but I didn't get to taste them because they ate them too fast. Service was great! Definitely make a stop at Ado's
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. I had the carbonara and my friend ordered the fried brussels sprouts and the mushroom crepes. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The waitress was so friendly and provided helpful suggestions from the menu. Ado came out to talk to us at one point and he was so nice. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back.

Yelp
Ate dinner here and it was so delicious returned in the morning for breakfast. The Chicken Marsala was outstanding with the crispy prosciutto. The eggplant Florentine was a unique and scrumptious blend of flavors. Ado works hard to ensure every customer has a first class experience. It is an amazing place in the heart of the hill. A must for anyone visiting CU and Boulder.

Yelp
Overall 3.5 stars. We will go back and try other things. The food was good, but could for sure be stellar. Food = 3.5 Chicken Marsala = 4 stars - Nearly perfect sauce flavor. Portion size was good. Could use more mushrooms and more sauce but not bad. Fanstatic risotto.Lost a star for two reasons... No veggies (needed asparagas, broccoli, something!) and very little prosciutto on it (not like the photo at all) Chicken Valdostana = 3 stars - Amazing sauce flavor but VERY little sauce. Did not come close to covering the meal. Needs way more. There was barely any cheese and prosciutto on it. Valdastana should be more than just breaded chicken, this was barely more than that. Could be a 5 star dish, its not. It did have asparagas and good mashed potatoes. White Wine by the glass selection = 1 star. Reds had a decent selection but white was not great. The Chard server's selection did not go with the dishes, way to sweet (odd for Chard). I expect better for a bar attached to a resturaunt with good (non-bar, $20/plate food) Ambiance = 3.5 -- nice little place, the bar music next store is loud even though it wasnt busy. Somewhat messes with the ambiance even though the place itself was a solid 4 star ambiance wise

Yelp
We came for lunch on a sunny afternoon. Way better than I had guessed. The food was a good sized portion and very tasty. Must be a great chef. Attentive service, clean, nicely decorated. I'll come again.
google avatar

Jim C.

Yelp
My favorite place for dinner in Boulder! Chicken Valdostana is unbelievable. My wife likes the Marsala.

DENNIS B.

Yelp
Great food. The owner and chef has put his heart into this place and it hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves. A hidden gem on the Hill in Boulder.
google avatar

Tova B.

Yelp
super cute inside. fun booths and nice l had the veggie omelette and subbed their pesto for mushroom and it was pretty good. it was just really r oily. wish the potatoes were bigger and had more. my friend had the meat lovers omelette and he said it was good just wish there was more meat as he is a meat lover. overall pretty decent especially convenient being on the hill but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Ado makes the best food around town! He is truly an artist in the kitchen and offers unique and creative cuisine. The ambience is great because you can sit at the stylish bar or at a romantic table. It's nice to have a fine dining spot on the Hill.
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
I called ahead to see the wait time for 1... I was told by the very friendly gentleman that It wouldn't be much of a wait that I could probably sit at the bar. When I walked in the place it had a bare minimalist kinda vibe. College kid spot for sure. I stayed because of an item I spotted on the menu The Stuffed Chayote. The owner cane to take my order. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE CHAYOTE:(( Ado said if I had time he could make it but it would be awhile. I decided to go with The Chicken Marsala which he recommended. Oh boy am I glad I did. The chicken was tender served over risotto and topped with micro greens. It was so so so delicious. Definitely a spot I would recommend
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
After living in Boulder for 11 years, we've eaten at just about every restaurant this town has to offer and the food did not disappoint. 99% of everything on the menu is HOMEMADE and you can taste it. First off, $5 Bloodies and Mimosas on Sunday, done and done. My Eggs Benedict was one of the best I've had in a minute. Can we talk about the polenta cake under the salty/sweet ham? Fontina cheese and creamy basil pesto. Skip downtown, skip the Boulder staples, and try something new! Support this local, delectable Boulder gem!

J Z.

Yelp
I had the spicy wide noodles with shrimp. Absolutely amazing. Great service including great discussion with the owner. Fantastic food and fantastic people.

Joshua B.

Yelp
Excellent food!!! I had the breakfast pupusas, and my wife had the breakfast burrito. I would highly recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
I met a friend for dinner on Thursday. There was no one else in the dining area, but a few at the bar. TJ greeted us and seated us in the dining area, which was fairly small. He said that it is normally just him and the chef/owner that work on any given night. I ordered the chicken marsala that was served over mushroom risotto iwth some crispy prosciutto, which was a nice touch. It was fabulous, very tender and flavorful! My friend ordered the Mongolian combo and said it was very good. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes!

Benjamin D.

Yelp
Absolutely the best food in Boulder. Brussell Sprouts outstanding. Stuffed chicken the best I've had. A must try for flavorful food. Both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast I had the Eggplant Florentine with Salmon. Outstanding. Owner is great. A must try in Boulder

Jack K.

Yelp
Worst customer service. The owner Ado has a terrible attitude and doesn't want service. Don't go here

Tammy O.

Yelp
This review is long over due. We made reservations at the restaurant for my husband's birthday but when we showed up were told the restaurant was closed. I was upset of course, but the owner came out seated us, personal cooked for us and served us even though the kitchen was closed. Not too many restaurants that would do that. On top of that his food was amazing! Everyone in our party had something different and loved their dish. I highly recommend try Ado's.

Joan G.

Yelp
I want to start by saying the food at Ado's is excellent. It's been one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder. The menu is international, with choices for all diets. The fettucine is to die for. Truly, everything on the menu is good. They are even keen to accommodate large groups. Ado is friendly and charming and often comes to the table to check on the food. I rated it a "3" because the ambience is mediocre at best and the service is spotty. They take reservations, but don't seem to write them down. In addition to showing up and not having my reservation on their books, I have had at least three other experiences that have colored my view on the restaurant. One night I called in a pick-up order. When we arrived, they told me they had just spaced it out. Another time I had a reservation before a show on the CU campus and upon arrival were told they had some electrical problem and were closed. (We were able to enter the restaurant.) If you know the Hill around the CU campus, you know that there are few fine dining places, and on the night of a performance on campus, it's nearly impossible to get a table. If you have people with reservations it seems that the professional thing to do is to call them and apologize when a situation arises. That way, we could have made other plans. But last night was beyond the pale for me. I showed up for a reservation, again before a campus performance. There was one table filled with dirty dishes and no one around. I walked around to the bar where a very drunk customer was sitting. I asked if anyone was working. He began yelling at the top of his lungs for Ado. No one showed up. I went back to my table to call the restaurant to see if anyone would answer the phone. No answer. Sat for 10 more minutes with the inebriated customer sporadically yelling for Ado and went back to the bar. I could see in the kitchen two giant pots boiling away over high flames on the stove. No one around. The man at the bar is alternately bellowing Ado's name and apologizing to me for being unsuccessful at rousing a worker. I am very sad about this. I don't know what to say except Ado's needs to get their shit together. Great food can only take you so far.

Peter And Pam L.

Yelp
Ado's Kitchen & Bar is by far one of the best restaurants in Boulder. The service from TJ was fantastic. He was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. We were really impressed when Ado (Chef and owner) came out himself to take our appetizer order and to recommend wine pairings for our meals. The food was over the top and for our family of four served very generous portions (our boys are college students and always hungry)! The full bar offered a wonderful selection of wines and TJ included our 19 year old with a great "mocktail". The menu is broad, diverse and very affordable. We all ordered something different and each dish was as good as the other. For a great meal on The Hill in Boulder give Ado's a try.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
A do's serves brunch food until 3pm, yet another reason why I love this place. Affordable cocktails, open late, convenient location and friendly staff, what more could you want? I recommend the Eggplant Florentine.

Katherine A.

Yelp
I love Ado and his cooking and his restaurant is one of my all-time favorites. Try his new seafood stew...it's the best. But call first to be sure he has it. It's not on the menu yet.
google avatar

Sophia W.

Yelp
Don't get the Sweet Plantains!! I totally thought it would be more like a traditional Costa Rican breakfast (beans, rice, eggs and plantains). I was very mislead. The "mashed black beans" I really did not like. It was just black goo, and it honestly didn't taste good at all. It didn't go well with the eggs or plantains. I gave two stars because the experience was nice and the plantains alone were really good. If management is reading this, pair the plantains with something more tasty!
