On the Grid : Dirty Dozen

"Ok, we're just going to put it out there - it's whiffy down in the underpass. But it's worth it. Dirty Dozen is an initiative of the City of Melbourne that sees the repurposing of 12 glass cabinets to present works of creative practitioners, across a range of fields. A focus on inventive, site specific work drives the programming. At the time these photographs were taken the exhibitors were engineers & scientists Skunk Control, who explore the communication of science through art, and art through science." - Grosz Co Lab

I visited the store tonight (28/09) with a friend. Initially, we ordered the Tiramisu one, not realizing that it didn't have the halal label on the menu. Once it came out and was served, the staff kindly confirmed with us that it was in fact, the literal only pancake that was not halal. She very nicely told us we can switch the menu to another one that's halal-friendly or ask for a refund. We chose to change our order to a vanilla brulee. It was splendid! The souffle pancake was incredibly soft, and it wasn't too sweet. We were touched by the staff's consideration about the halal menu (for context, we're hijabis), she went out of her way to help us out. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for her name. Our biggest gratitude to her. Would definitely come back for the pancake, the vibes and warm service.

Craving dessert late at night in Melbourne and stopped by this pancake place. Food and service were great! Liked how it’s slightly on the outskirts of the city which is easier to park or less lines to get in.

My mum has been wanting to visit for so long and we finally got the opportunity to go today! 10/10 souffle pancakes, the best I’ve ever had really they’re so soft and jiggly while being thoroughly cooked all the way through. We ordered the matcha pancakes, fresh fruit pancakes, yuzu cheesecake, fruit boom green tea, and sakura and berry hot tea served in a small teapot. Everything was great, staff was friendly, the restaurant itself is really cute with very clean tables and chairs. It was overall a lovely dining experience. The cheesecake was soft and had a melt in your mouth experience too.

Visited after dinner during my trip in Melbourne. Good smell around the cafe. Ordered original pancake as prefer to taste the basic menu first and did not disappoint at all. Pancake served in good portion, right taste (not too sweet or too buttery). Not too long wait as staff mentioned. Great service mind staff and ambient. Will definitely visit again when have chance next time.

Tried the tiramisu, dark chocolate, white chocolate strawberries pancakes. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty, and the white chocolate strawberries are always a favorite—sweet and smooth. The dark chocolate wasn’t as rich as expected and had a faint eggy smell that threw off the flavor a bit. Some hits, some misses—but still a great spot for a sweet treat.

Adozen Adozen is a must for soufflé pancake lovers! The pancakes are insanely fluffy, and the white chocolate strawberries are a total game changer. The matcha cheesecake is the perfect treat to pair with it. Amazing vibes and even better food, I definitely recommend!

20 minutes… TWENTY. MINUTES. ⏳ I stood there doubting all my life choices, questioning if I should’ve just gone home to eat Maggi. But then… the plate arrived. AND MY LIFE CHANGED. 🥞✨ Adozen Adozen pancakes aren’t just fluffy — they’re basically **clouds that went to private school** ☁️🎓. Jiggle jiggle wobble wobble, every bite melts like a sweet little dream. Compared to Kumo, these bad boys are slightly more eggy 🍳, but honestly? That’s the secret weapon. It’s like pancakes with extra personality. Best part? Instead of rolling you into a food coma like most desserts, this one is so light you’ll still have stomach real estate left for your NEXT sugar adventure 🍡🍨🍰. Basically, this pancake whispers: “don’t stop, keep eating more dessert.” Verdict: Worth the wait, worth the hype, worth sacrificing your diet. 11/10 would jiggle again 💃🕺.

If you haven’t tried soufflé pancakes before you’re definitely missing out! I have tried them once before and I wasn’t really impressed, however recently I got to try the soufflé pancakes from Adozen Adozen and I really enjoyed them. This is what we had: Haku Earl ($25.3) - this is their limited time special, it was not too sweet and I had a really strong earl grey flavour. White Choc Strawberry ($21) - this one was pretty good as well. The strawberries were nice and fresh and the strawberry cream was pretty good too. Yuzu Cheesecake ($13.5) - the yuzu cheesecake was very tart and is really good if you are wanting something not too sweet. Peach Cold Brew ($9.5) - this was a mix between a peach tea and coffee which my boyfriend really, really liked. Strawberry Matcha ($9.5) - the Matcha was pretty good, but I couldn’t really taste the strawberry Momo Peach ($5.8) - a hot peach tea The pancakes were super light & fluffy and not too eggy. I know other places it’s pretty eggy, but not for these ones.
