Adulala Resort & Spa

The location of the resort is peaceful and naturally beautiful. I really enjoyed the environment and the views. However, the rooms were average and could use some renovation or better cleanliness. The service was okay, but not very consistent. I expected more attention, especially for a resort of this level. It has great potential, but I hope management works on improving customer service and maintenance.

Once the best resort in the country, now totally abandoned. Rooms are capacious but poorly managed and maintained. The water and amusement park is fine but again not properly handled. I don't recommend this place anymore. Should be closed and properly renovated.

This is an abandoned place, the only good experience we have there was the room size. That was great. Apart that, the phone line was not working and they were not willing to maintain it. Even the compound or the rooms are not maintained properly. The waiter tried to fool us by giving an old receipt as of ours and didn't try to apologize when we confronted him either. The buffet was terrible, not worth of it's price. I know Adulala was a great place years ago but not anymore.

We went for a one day getaway with family, but we felt we couldn’t return home any sooner. Everything at the resort was depressing, it was very poorly maintained. Despite arriving late due to unanticipated traffic on the way, and being told our room was ready, it wasn’t. We booked a family room and found out that we couldn’t use one of the showers because it was so old, rusty and just gross to even look at. The TV once they finally fixed it, had only one local channel. Food was bad, especially so for the price you pay! The amusement park wasn’t working the day we arrived due to power, and the train, which made us book there in the first place was out of service and wrapped up. Next morning trying to get some breakfast all the chairs we checked were dirty with food crumbs wiped off of the table…. The food was no different…. There wasn’t a single thing we liked. The “amusement park “ and “water park” started working that morning so we allowed our son to enjoy few rides and quickly got out of there. Overall, we felt sad to see the way the place is, as it was once a beautiful resort we enjoyed about a decade ago, but there’s no returning back for us, and wouldn’t recommend it for anyone until things change.

I had a pleasant stay at Adulala Resort — the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the pricing was very reasonable. Everything else met or exceeded expectations. However, the food was a big letdown. It really needs improvement, as it was far below the standard of the rest of the experience.

Most Disappointing Stay – Avoid This Hotel This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've ever had. The room was extremely dirty — the pillows didn’t even have pillowcases. We had to ask the front desk to come and change the bedsheets. The overall environment was filthy and definitely not safe for children. I strongly recommend staying away from this hotel.

Stay Away from This Place! I had a horrible experience in Bishoftu — they were serving raw meat that was literally on the ground. It is completely unhygienic and unsafe. This place is not clean at all, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially if you care about your health. Just stay away!

They make you pay $1900 birr per person upfront for lunch buffet to get into the resort. The buffet is horrible, the food is cold, very few choices, service is super slow. This place is running a scam. You are better off paying a little extra at kuriftu a few miles down.
