I have visited this hospital quite often for my OB-GYN appointments, and later had my C-section here, as well as a sleep study for my baby. Overall, the organization of work and cleanliness of the hospital are very good. The staff treated me professionally and supported me a lot during the surgery and after it. The birthing room was quite comfortable. My husband did mention that the couch was not very comfortable, but that didn’t really matter because both our baby and we were treated with great care and respect.

Thank you to the hospital for the Christmas gift for the kids — it really means a lot that you create a festive atmosphere even in the hospital. The only downside is the long waiting time to see a doctor, sometimes 3+ hours. Hopefully, this can be improved.

I have never been so disappointed in the way that I was treated at Lutheran General. I was transferred there from Sherman hospital in Elgin Illinois because they did not have the ability to remove the blood clots in my left leg. So after hours of waiting Lutheran General said that they had a room ready for me. I was transported there by ambulance just to sit in the emergency room hallway from 7:30 a.m to2 P.m while watching people come in after me go into rooms but when I questioned the hospital staff they said I all those people had breathing problems. But I was supposed too have a room ready for me on the floor not in the emergency room. I was not taken to the floor until 6:15 and that was after my procedure. I was there from 9/16/25 to 9/19/25 . On 9 /18/25 I was awaken by the charge nurse telling me that they was going to move me to the 9th floor and I asked him what since does it make to move me then after my procedure in the morning I would just be coming back. So after I asked them to get me a doctor to discharge me and that would just have my heart doctor do the TEE .They said that was going to get the paper for me to sign myself out and once again I asked for the doctor to come and sign me out. The charge nurse came back ask if they didn't move me would I stay and I said yes. After all that I had been through at this hospital I was afraid to have the procedure done there because I felt the strongest presents of racism. So for my safety I had them cancel the procedure and to discharge me. There's more to this I'm on water pills and the nurse didn't come check my urinal until 7 a.m before she left

The worst ER experience in the history of existence. The nurses in this hospital are absolutely disgusting. They treat you like garbage when you’re there for an emergency, on the brink of collapsing and feeling like you’re about to die. They’re just absolutely horrible. Disgusting attitudes in the way they speak to you and the other patients there. You can tell there’s no love in the work they do. It’s like they’re secretly hoping you’ll die. I’ll never come back here and I live in morton grove, 5 minutes down the road. I’d rather risk my life and drive the 20 extra minutes to Resurrection.

During the past 24 hours at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital my family and I have received amazing care filled with empathy, skill, and genuine care. Thus far we have had the pleasure to work with a few nurses. Our first nurse was Lauren whom was extremely warm and diligent. Lauren would check on us regularly and provide all of the necessary items we needed before we could even ask. Next, we had the pleasure of working with Lena. As a nurse, Lena provided very insightful parental instructions and recommendations for us. She gave me guidance as a father on how to feed my newborn son and confirmed that I was burping him properly. She connected with my wife telling stories that eased my wives anxiety. Next, we were serviced by Pam who was just a beautiful light in the room. She was on point in every aspect. Last but not least, we were cared for by Eva. One thing that I loved about Eva was her interpersonal skills that made us feel like family. She was meticulous with every interaction with us and she checked on us frequently. When my wife was in pain she provided impromptu care that remedied the pain within minutes. I’ve had a 5-star experience here and that’s in comparison to other hospitals that have even been ranked higher. You can’t always believe in the statistics, because Advocate is the BEST!!

The emergency room at Advocate Lutheran General is a heavily funded Level I Trauma Center that receives government subsidies on the condition that it delivers the highest standard of emergency care. Yet when I sought treatment, I was told that “doctors are not on call” and that I would need to wait until morning to receive care for a potentially life-threatening condition. This emergency room is a pathetic joke. Refusing timely care until morning is a clear violation of the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1395dd…

Waited 6 hrs to be seen. The ER needs more drs & nurses & should outsource cleaning! Help is super young and tries but for whatever reason on a beautiful Tues. afternoon everybody and his brother was in the ER. Not the hospital I remember from 40 yrs ago. Even though the teams worked well(bilingual and kind) would wash out in a MASH unit. But have been to 2 other ERs and it's the same thing. SAD. Won't recommend a great ER I did find cuz the likelihood it would get overrun is high. Think the area demographics have changed tremendously. Hope yall stay well.
