This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We arrived expecting to check in to the room we had specifically booked for — but instead, an older man told us we were being “upgraded.” Sounds good, right? It wasn’t.
The “upgrade” was actually a completely different hotel in front of the one we booked, and the room was clearly worse: outdated, small, and nothing like the one we chose. We immediately told him this wasn’t acceptable and asked to check in to the room we reserved. He flat-out refused and claimed, “This one is better.” Better according to him — not us.
We insisted on seeing the original room we booked. He finally agreed, but what happened next was beyond unprofessional: he opened the door to the room we had reserved, and it was already occupied. Someone else’s clothes and personal items were inside. He had just given our room away without telling us, then tried to pass off a lesser room as an upgrade.
When we pointed out how wrong this was, he acted like we were the problem. No apology. No explanation. Just attitude and deflection.
At that point, we walked out and found another hotel that actually respected our reservation and gave us the room we paid for.
Avoid this place at all costs. Dishonest, disrespectful, and completely chaotic.
