We had our wedding here and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Every single detail was beautiful, and the whole day ran seamlessly thanks to Irene and her wonderful team. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how amazing the food was, how friendly and attentive the staff were, and how stunning the hotel is. The warmth and care we felt from everyone made the whole experience so special – nothing was too much trouble, and everything exceeded our expectations. Our stay was just as unforgettable. The staff went above and beyond, even bringing fresh water to us by the pool. We made the most of the spa, which was so luxurious – our massage was absolute bliss. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with plenty of choice and everything cooked to perfection. Truly, the staff can’t do enough for you, and their attention to detail makes all the difference.

**The Good:** |Aegiali is truly a beautiful 5-star resort that offers stunning views of Aegiali Bay. The architecture is remarkable, and it's clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into creating such a lovely environment. The amenities are excellent, including a well-equipped gym and a unique spa with an indoor pool. The outdoor pool is equally impressive, and the overall scenery is breathtaking from all angles. The staff are quite friendly and go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. It’s heartwarming to know that the owners are wonderful people as well.||**The Bad:** |However, I did encounter some disappointments during my stay. We had reserved a "multi room suite" per the hotel’s website, which indicated that we might need to switch suites during our visit. Since we were late this year, we opted for the "pre-paid last minute" offer, accepting it without hesitation. When we arrived, we were assigned to a standard room rather than a suite. After expressing my concerns, I was informed that the room was categorized as a superior room, with pricing similar to a suite. While I understand their reasoning, there was still a significant price difference of about 700 euros for the week, which felt a bit unsettling. In the interest of resolving the situation, I chose to accept their offer to stay in one room throughout our visit. Nonetheless, I couldn’t help but feel that the website’s description was misleading, and I wanted to bring this to their attention.||**The Ugly:** |To make amends, the hotel kindly invited us to dinner at their restaurant, which we gladly accepted. However, I was taken aback when we were charged for the wine at the end of our meal. This felt a bit disappointing given the circumstances we had already faced. Overall, the experience left me feeling a mix of appreciation for their efforts and frustration over the misunderstandings.

Amorgos has given all we had hoped for and more, I m torn between keeping it a secret and sharing the amazing people and location! We didn’t actually stay at the hotel we stayed at one of its other properties (SeaRock - reviewed separately) but this gave us access to the hotel. This is a lovely hotel in an already peaceful and perfect location, the hotel overlooks Aegiali town where there are shops, restaurants, supermarket, and beach. We hired a car and we used Evdokia and would again Giannis was extremely helpful with 5* service. |So I can’t comment on the hotel accommodation but we ate breakfast here most days, there was a lovely selection served by very helpful staff. A particular mention for Poppy and Arta who made us feel like friends, and were always on hand for banter and for local knowledge, not to forget George and his fabulous coffee making skills. | We were able to use the amazing facilities - pool, spa, gym etc and were privileged to witness the family run ethos, and how Irene and Stamatis and all the family are always visible, approachable and helpful. A transfer from Katapola was also provided (30 min drive away) as most of the ferries arrive in Katapola although some do arrive in Aegialis. We are really pleased we chose to stay at this end of the island. Chora town between the two ports is lovely and worth a visit. The small villages close by Tholaria, and Lagada are definitely worth visiting, both have their own authentic and lovely restaurants. We were lucky enough to be here festival time in Tholaria and witness the locals including the hotel family owners, come together in celebration. We weren’t at the hotel for one of the yoga retreats but the guests were a mix of yoga retreat groups and holidaymakers such as us. If you are not there for the extensive yoga programme the hotel hosts I would recommend a car Amorgos deserves to be seen, we love it and we will be back.

Aegialis may have been one of my top stays in my years of traveling. Their attention to detail was phenomenal! From making sure we were taken care of, to the rooms, to the recommendations for things to do on Amorgos, I give them 5 stars! They were so accommodating of my furry friend, Biskotaki as well! Never have I experienced such white glove service in Greece. Bravo to the team! The views help as well! Overlooking the bay with amazing sunrise and sunset experiences. Added bonus, 3 beaches all within walking distance if you want a break from the pool as well! Well done team! Special shout out to Anna for her kindness and support! Bravo!

The rooms are modern, stylish and five star standard. All staff made us feel welcomed and provided excellent service. Always so helpful at front desk, including a delightful concierge available every day to guests. The views from rooms, restaurants and pool are nothing short of spectacular. This hotel combined with location are pure magic. The owner welcomed us on several occasions. Would return in a heartbeat.

The Aegialis Hotel and Spa was a disappointment. We stayed for 7 nights at this Hotel and Spa. Booking almost a year in advance to have the - Exclusive Veranda Room. Billed as one of the nicest in the complex. The Exclusive Balcony Room" several thousands of dollars cost - was advertised as combining tranquility and luxury with state-of-the-art technology. Unfortunately, it was not tranquil or luxurious. First - LOUD BANGING OVERHEAD NOISES every morning which we were there - We learned that this due to the proximity of an overhead huge "hot" yoga studio where the other group had loud and early classes, setup /meeting - what ever starting at 6:30 -7 am. ( OTHER review talk bout noise but this was next level) We used ear plugs -sound blocker - noise cancelling phone app etc to shield us from the sounds of POUNDING and loud music . But nothing could stop the early pounding of foot traffic. This daily noise then was followed by blaring NOT YOGA high intensity work out music at the highest level. ( We have video of this if you chose not to believe) = Yes we made a complaint but since there were no other rooms at this "HIGHEST level " of Luxury within the resort there was nothing we could do. |We had other issues with the added cost of coffee pods each day even though the room advertises you can "enjoy the coffee amenities within your suite" You get a few pods -to make the smallest cup - & if you want more it is a daily extra 3 euros. |Another issue to note is the "into town/ beach shuttle" It runs infrequently even though it is below the resort - the only two times first starting at 11 am and 2 pm get you down and into town - stopping near LOCO beach bar, This is the only way to the beach -is walk downhill and then of course walk the steep steep uphill - the shuttle is on a scheduled and more than once we were waiting for the 4 pm return OVER 30 minutes until my husband called for the 3x time and then they added us to a group returning to the resort. Yes you can walk - and we did that - but with all the beach items - walking up STRAIGHT hill with over 94 steep steps wasn't what we wanted to regularly do/ And yes - this and the fact that they didn't help one member with concessions on the shuttle- time - location into town etc who was injured without an exorbitant quote of ( something like 60 euro one way) was very off putting IT is a lovely island and yes you have to have guest concessions but know that for us it was not tranquil or relaxing. On a plus - when I asked for an extra blanket or towels they were given - they also gave us a nice bottle of wine at check out and a note apologizing - which we have still -

Best hotel on the island hands-down. Mainly focuses on doing yoga retreats. Dinner and breakfast are buffet style. Drinks cost $20 plus so be prepared to pay if you’re a drinker. Rooms are small by US standards, unless you upgrade to the honeymoon suites. Fantastic view of the bay. Great access to walking trails, good connections to ferries and other islands.

I'm the founder of MELT Method and this year we decided to do a Couples Retreat in Greece and found Aegialis Hotel & Spa. This location is a trek to get there as you take a high speed ferry from one of the other islands to get there. It is remote, and the hotel is beyond stunning. The staff, world class. Irene the CEO and her family treated us like family. The rooms to practice MELT or Yoga or Pilates are also world class. We felt very taken care of, there's incredible hiking, walking paths, and fantastic food both on property and off. You won't be disappointed. This is a great place for honeymooners, couples, or besties wanting a week of luxury vacationing!
