We enjoyed our stay at this family-run hotel, the perfect location for everything we wanted to do in Milos -- without a car. We arrived from Athens by ferry, and walked about 5-10 minutes to the hotel (on a side street). The staff is welcoming and over-the-top helpful in planning your trip. Our room was simple, clean, with a very modern bathroom and a nice little balcony. There was a sink and refrigerator, and a very big (modern) supermarket about five minutes away. It was easy to prepare our own simple breakfasts -- yoghurt and fruit, tea and coffee, then head out for the day. We were a 10-minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece... and on the way, along the ocean, is a string of family-owned restaurants. All of them are good, you don't need to worry too much -- but the hotel staff can also share opinions. We were also surprised to see how large and lively the downtown port area is -- many restaurants and stores, but not overcrowded. At the port, we talked to the boat vendors -- most of them professional, not at all pushy. We booked ourselves on an all day catamaran trip taking us around the entire island -- highly recommend this. The boats all go to the same places, so pick one with seating you will enjoy. On ours, we stopped to swim several times and the food prepared by our crew was wonderful. We also spent a half day at Sarakaniko beach (the moon beach) -- a can't miss experience. We were able to swim in the water seeping into the volcanic rocks. A third day, we took local buses (15 minute rides each) to Plaka the capital and to the fishing village of Polonia. Highly recommend this hotel for budget travelers -- Milos has many $$$ choices, but this delivered all we needed.
