Aerotel Domodedovo

This hotel could be a good transit spot before or after a flight. |My flight landed at night, so I decided to book a room at AirHotel to rest and wait for my next flight there. |It could be a bit tricky to find the free shuttle, but if you ask around, airport staff would guide you. Basically, it’s next to Gate 2 (to the left). |The check-in process was swift. |I had a comfort room with a king bed. The room had everything needed: slippers, a dental kit, shampoos, a mini bar, tea/coffee (instant coffee) facilities. |The breakfast was nice with freshly squeezed orange juice, omelette, blini, fruit, veggies, etc. you can even make your own waffles there.

Awful experience. We spent a night and paid extra for a superior room hoping for a better stay, but the room was quite chilly and the heating was not working properly. We needed to ask for heaters, but the electric ones weren't working properly, so we then had to ask for additional blankets. We inquired whether the issue was limited to our room, but were informed that the whole hotel lacked a suitable heating system. Also, there were no electric outlets available for charging our phones, and we needed to request an extension cord to access the sole power outlet intended for the refrigerator located behind a table. It’s an old hotel from the Soviet period that provides no worth for the price. The sole advantage is its proximity to Domodedovo airport, and the personnel were accommodating in supplying additional heaters and blankets.

The location of the hotel is ideal for transit travelers or late night arrivals because the Train/Metro doesn’t operate from Domodedovo Airport to Moscow City Centre (approx. 45 km) in between 0000 hrs till 0600 hrs. Hotel is located just outside the Airport terminal parking and also offers free shuttle service which moves every 30 minutes. The hotel infrastructure is of Cold War era which is depicted in Holywood movies. However, the air conditioning was satisfactory and room was decently spacious. Bed linens were clean and mattresses were quite comfy. Toilet was adequate with supplies of towels, toiletries and bath tub with warm water. The reception staff was very helpful with respect to our requests for late check in and late check out. It is prudent to mention here that the location and comfort wise the accommodation is cost effective and recommendable. The Wi-Fi was working satisfactorily on the ground and 1st floor, but not effective on upper floors.

The hotel is near airport. There is hotel shuttle bus to give you a ride to airport. It really convenient if you need a place to sleep while waiting for your flight. Meal was not bad. There is no air conditioner. It really hot inside the room make me feels like I can't breath. The room kind of a little bit too old.

I was quite worried after seeing a bunch of negative reviews on TripAdvisor, but my booking was non refundable, so I risked it.||||At US$45 per night (for a middle tier, "standard" room) don't expect a Ritz-Carlton experience (there will be no valets with silk gloves and no Renoir painting on the walls either), but the place delivers great value for the price.||||Positives: A clean, decent sized room; a comfortable bed; only a 5-10 minute walk from Domodedovo airport terminal (if you don't want to walk, a shuttle is also available, running every 15 minutes or so).||||Negatives: the WiFi at 2 Mbps is slow - bring your own SIM;||Breakfast buffet arrangements date back to Year 1 B.C. (Before Covid), a reasonably good food, but shared utensils to take it - bring your own hand sanitiser...

It locates very close to the DME airport walkable and it provides shuttle bus every 15 mins to the airport as well. Very frequent and convenient. Wifi is also working well. The elevator is quite dark inside. Poor lighting in the lift making me difficult to see floor button to be push.

Stayed here overnight because it was the nearest hotel beside airport and it provided free airport transfers. At Domodedovo Airport's arrival area, we had a difficult time finding the location of the hotel's shuttle service as there were no signages and most locals don't understand nor speak English. Someone directed us to go up the elevator to the second floor to look for this hotel but we got lost. Do not go up by any means! We went back downstairs and finally found the information desk located at the far far left side of the arrivals area leading to the departure area. We were advised to go to Exit Gate 3 (not Gate 2 from what I read on some reviews and the hotel's website) in between Departure check-in gate numbers 107 and 108. Just across the exit is the parking lot where you will see the aeroport van (photo attached). Hotel is just a 5 minutes drive. Room is basic and small, no air conditioner as the weather is still pretty cool, shower area also small, room has a complimentary bottled water and snacks like Chocopie and potato chips. There is also a water dispenser at the lobby where you can get free water. Breakfast was good though few selections, better than Radisson and Crowne Plaza. I liked the sausage, crepes and fresh juices. Asked hotel to book us a taxi to Cosmonaut museum, a 1 hour ride costs RUB 2000. There is no taxi meter in Moscow, drivers give you fare estimate and fare price might just increase when you reach your destination so better take the metro!
