Affinity Gallery

Affinity Gallery is a breath of fresh air in Lagos' art scene, conveniently located just a block away from Yenwa Gallery. It's exciting to see their dedication to emerging artists, offering a platform for bold and experimental artworks that challenge conventions. while i wasn’t allowed to take pictures of the space and the art, i managed to steal a few moments to capture some highlights discreetly. i also had the chance to visit their adjacent space, Coperate Studios, which added another layer of creative energy to the experience. Affinity Gallery is truly a dynamic hub for contemporary art.

I got there quite late, close to their shut down time. The gallery was so colorful and I loved the displayed artworks. Interestingly, all the artworks I saw were made by women 💪💪 The hosts were welcoming, although the place was quite empty because there was no exhibition. If you’re looking for beauty, quiet and a mix of colors amidst the madness that is Lagos, I’d totally recommend!

Saw the exhibition “the thread that binds” and each artwork had it’s own peculiar beauty! Makes me think about how independent we all are yet connected as one.

I’ve enjoyed a couple exhibitions at Affinity last one being “The thread that binds”. It has a really a really cool studio as well. Parking here isn’t the best though but the in gallery experience is pretty good.
