Where do I even begin to start with this..?!||||Oh hang on, I remember now. This is the hotel that nearly took my own life from the uncooked food they had on offer to everyone who stayed there during their holiday.||||I spent the best part of 3 months hospitalised (unable to walk or talk for a long period of time) and 1 month including within that was in intensive care. How can you get so unwell from food poisoning I have been asked by many? Quite simply, when the bacteria that's infected you shuts down your immune system and then reaches your brain in the process, you know your in big trouble!||||Fortunately for me I survived this horrendous ordeal and now have a full diagnosis from this of an neurological disease titled BBE (Bickerstaff Brainstem Encephalitis) that I now have to live with the rest of my life. Professionals say I will make a full recovery and can't quite believe how quickly I have recovered since showing signs of rapid improvement during my time in hospital as well as since being discharged from hospital itself. That's encouraging to say the very least.||||It's incredibly lucky I managed to make it home in one piece since feeling the effects of food poisoning at the end of the holiday and not at the very beginning, something which the hotel states to this day it isn't responsible of making me unwell I would like to add. This could of well ended up for me in a fatal way had that indeed been the case with it being rather fortunate to say the least that I was treated in an English medical facility back in the UK with all the desirable neurological equipment that was needed to give me the chance of staying alive.||||After I had lumbar puncture sample taken on the day of being hospitalised, this therefore proved how long the campylobacter had been living inside my system and pointed towards poultry (chicken shawarma) that had been digested by myself from the all inclusive buffet and just so unluckily for me happened to be uncooked. If I am quite honest. the food on offer with the all buffet on evenings very rarely changed from the night previously so I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest that food was put out from the night before for all those who happened to be staying there the same time we was (August 2024 - Sept 2024. Be very wary as I didn't witness any temperature checks of the hot food being taken and by law the following should always be taken into account of any restaurant facility worldwide:||||1. Fridge temps||2. Cooking temps||3. Hot holding temps||4. Cleaning records||5. HACCP Records (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)||||The hotel itself is situated in a rough area in Korba (do not leave the hotel complex at night) as well as it being surrounded by guards 24/7 doesn't put you off at all does it..? Do not believe and be suckered in the same way we were from its appearance on the outside. The rooms are dated and our bedroom mattress was incredibly stiff and very uncomfortable. The yellow stained towels that we were supplied/replenished with daily were not the most pleasant to use either just for the record.||||The only good thing about the hotel wasn't even the hotel itself, it was the beach surrounding it! White sands and the sea was clear in some parts which made that part of our stay beautiful to witness. Endless amounts of fly's there by your side though when laid down pool/beach side so prepare to get restless and not be able to relax. The grubby sofa beds are also always looking like they could do with a dam wash and are probably riddled with bugs of all sorts.||||Usually, If you pay for 'all inclusive holiday' this therefore means drinks and food is all covered to come with all that, however at Africa Jade that is not the case at all. Granted breakfast/lunch and dinner is included from the indoor restaurant buffet at certain times of the day only I would like to point out, the food however outside by the pool you have to pay outright for as the complimentary food that is left out all day for the endless amounts of fly's to sit on and lay whatever they feel the need to!||||Alcoholic drinks have to be collected from a small bar/drinks area which leads on to the beach and its not served with normal alcohol either. The typical alcohol that you would usually find everywhere you will have to pay for, and that's based only at the main bar next to the pool funnily enough.||||English is not the best language to speak situated here as its mainly French orientated with a slight twist of German/Russian/Polish few and far between. Most of us English expect our language to be spoken everywhere so I guess it's only lazy of us altogether, however it would of been nice to of had an English speaking holiday rep on behalf of 'Love Holidays' to help aid us in translating how furious we actually were with the setup here all round.||||Don't go to this hotel also if you're looking for good animation either for the kids as it doesn't start until 21:30PM every night. You will be harassed daily by them by the pool or on the beach proclaiming it is the best thing ever and you should come along every evening. We usually ate at about 6-7pm so to have to wait around 2 and a half hours never really appealed to us or our kids for that matter. There was nothing for kids to do during the day other then go to the overcrowded pool with no slides whatsoever and attempt to take part with AQUA GYM every 4/5 hours. You can only imagine how bored they all got with that after a short period of time and them ending up back in their rooms afterwards using up the hit/miss Wi-Fi.||||I myself am one for liking a street market or two so you can get to the nearest one which happens to be in Nabuel via taxi booking from reception. Be careful who you get into a taxi with as well as some can appear shady and untrustworthy. They all speak English there funnily enough and you can find some really good items to buy and spend your DINAR on, however I was warned on multiple occasions it can be unsafe there for travellers in general and not to always trust the sellers at face value. I love to barter, but only with an item for sale I know is genuine or at the very least close to. Don't fall for the scams there as it reminded me a lot of other 3rd world countries I had visited in my past adventures. The selling of living live tortoises there did make me wonder what the hell that was all about?!||||Always be prepared for delays at the airport as we had a horrible delay in getting back to the UK of up to 7+ hours with hardly any announcements made for updates and always make sure you spend all your DINAR as its illegal to take it out of the country physically.||||Think it's safe to say I won't be heading back to Tunisia anytime soon and the whole experience has put me off ever visiting other north African countries in the future.||||I lived to tell you all the tale and will fight until the very end in making this hotel suffer in the same way I and my whole family did late last year.||||DO NOT STAY AT HOTEL AFRICA JADE THALASSO!!
