We had an exceptional stay at African Pride Marriott Melrose Arch! From the moment we checked in, everything was seamless and incredibly welcoming.||**Check-in & Service:**|The staff were outstanding—friendly, efficient, and always eager to help. We felt genuinely cared for throughout our visit. Special thanks to the front desk and concierge teams who made everything feel effortless.||**Room:**|Our room was spotless, stylish, and very comfortable. The bed was perfect, and the little extras—like luxury bath products, bottled water (sparkling and still), and turn-down service—made it feel like a true 5-star experience.||**Location:**|The hotel is located in the heart of Melrose Arch, which is safe, walkable, and full of great restaurants, cafes, and shops. We loved being able to explore the area without needing to drive.||**Food:**|Breakfast was one of our favorite parts of the stay. They had a huge selection of fresh food and it was beautifully presented. The on-site restaurant also served excellent dinners with a lovely atmosphere. We had a private room for our family and the service was wonderful. ||**Facilities:**|We were unable to spend time at the rooftop pool due to renovations but it has great views. The fitness center was also clean and well-equipped. Reliable Wi-Fi made it easy to stay connected.||**Final thoughts:**|This hotel truly lives up to the African Pride name. Every detail is carefully considered, and the overall experience is luxurious yet warm. We highly recommend this location for both business and leisure travelers. ||We’ll definitely be back!

This was our third visit to this hotel and we never tire of it. Beautifully and originally decorated, rooms are stylish and quirky. We were upgraded to a suite on this visit and it was spacious and comfortable, ideal for spending time relaxing. |What sets this hotel apart is the wonderful staff, all so friendly, welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. A special shout out to Dingaan who greeted us last time and welcomed us back like family. |Food and service in Aduna Bistro is first class and highly recommended. |We can’t wait to return!

Amazing staff, maybe the best staff that I've seen so far. MPHO, DINGAAN, SNETHEMPHA, AND ALL THE REST were absolutely fantastic. Dingaan made sure that we had complimentary wine and fruit platters in our rooms and he's always ready to help. Mpho does an excellent job at reception, she s very friendly and professional. Thank you for the lovely 9 nights experinece. Definitely one of the best hotels in terms of cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, quality of the food and service. Thank you

We are thrilled with our stay at African Pride. Monica was a pleasure to work with even prior to arrival. At check in you're greeted with refreshing cucumber water and the friendliest staff in Johannesburg. ||As a titanium I was upgraded to an executive room which is enormous and beautifully furnished. I loved the little features like the rubber ducky beside the soaking tub and the safe hidden behind the art. Unathi at check in was a pleasure! She went above and beyond to make sure our group of four (2 rooms) were taken care of and Dingaan always had a smile on his face. He made sure we understood our room and the amenities. This hotel is spectacular and I would certainly stay here again.

Spent one night at the downtown Johannesburg location for our last day after a two week Safari. Front entry way inside the hotel has a definite wow factor. Beautiful all around. Check-in was very easy and quick and front desk staff extremely friendly. Nathaniel was top notch, greeted us with “holy” water and even gave us a quick walk outside to give us the layout of the shops and restaurants surrounding the hotel. Just by chance we mentioned to him that this was also a honeymoon trip for us and would be our last evening in South Africa before flying home. When we entered our room it was littered with rose pedals with a heart shaped rose bed of pedals on the bed. Champagne with glasses and a welcoming note from the staff. Couldn’t have been more surprised and grateful. Had dinner in the evening at one of their fine dining restaurants downstairs. Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere. Again the staff was nothing but amazing. Enjoyed the continental breakfast in the morning and it was more than could be imagined. Absolutely first class. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it. Would love to stay here again when we get a chance to visit Johannesburg again.

Very beautiful and individual hotel with art and wall paintings which is one-of-it’s-kind. Rooms are just beautiful and clean, pleasant smell in the whole building. Great staff, always willing to help and very friendly. I‘m looking forward to coming back!

The hotel itself was great — clean, stylish, and well-located. However, we had a very disappointing experience with the laundry service: my boyfriend’s sunglasses and money were taken from his pocket after handing in clothes for cleaning. This left a bad impression and made us question the overall security and trustworthiness of the service staff. A real pity, because otherwise, it could’ve been a perfect stay.

A special mention goes to Ashlyn, who truly exemplifies African hospitality at its finest. Her warmth, professionalism, and proactive service were evident throughout just 1 night. As an Ambassador Elite, I’ve experienced many Marriott properties around the world, but few have made me feel as genuinely welcomed and appreciated as this one. Ashlyn's attention to detail and guest care is a benchmark for others to follow. She ensured that everything—from the suite assignment to thoughtful touches—was handled impeccably. Highly recommended for fellow Ambassador Elites looking for a stay that reflects both premium service and genuine care.
