First of all: the tour guide did a good job, he knew a lot and took the time to answer all of our questions and was very friendly.
The reason for the two-star-review is the following: in fact, you‘re paying 730n$ per person to visit a zoo that only shows five cheetahs. They are fed every day by the employees and are being kept separately from other animals. The 1.5-2h tour includes that you look at the cheetah, get some information and then get a very long introduction about the history of AfriCat (which wasn’t to be honest too relevant for us).
All in all, we were disappointed as from the website, we thought before coming that the target of AfriCat is to release cheetahs again into the wild and educating locals - both is not happening anymore. We felt a bit misled from the information online and I did not get the impression that nowadays (i think it was different in the past) my money goes towards a good cause.
For anyone who wants to see a cheetah closeby and doesnt care that they are not in the wild (but rather in a zoo setting), the tour can be recommended (but still I think it is way overpriced).
