Afro World

Sometimes I get some hair/body products but their prices can be expensive compared to other hair/beauty shops in the area. Their staff can be friendly but depends on what you're buying and at times challenging when there is a dispute regarding their prices of some items wrongly priced.

Such lovely customer service. I have been shopping here for years ! They provide a lot of good hair and beauty products, good all round

the phone repair booth is the best !! he fixes anything !! he makes all he right repairs & doesn't cheat !!! he is honest repairman and trader, gives very cheap fair prices. Doesn't rip you off like the others & explains everything. I always go to him whenever I have a problem with my phone or need something. 100/10.

The owner and his children are always very pleasant to customers as he should be, but now there is this one work helper who constantly stares you out and has a very sour look, I won't be going again. Rather shop at some now quite common black owned cosmetic stores which you can find one near you on Google.

I love this this Hair shop and have been buying from Afro World since early 1990's. It has almost everything you need to pamper your hair/skin - I love you Afro World. But I have an issue with you!!! As goooooooooooood as you are - why is it difficult for you to set up a website customers can access easily without having to phone up the shop the old fashion way, in order to get what they need?????? Please, set up a website that we all can shop from, please!

Very bad communication and false advertising, saying the hair is real and human hair but it wasn't. Got told me can straighten, dye etc. Very bad shop

I found them overpriced on certain things, such as a simple bar of Black soap they added like 0.50p when their competitors a few shops away is selling at 99p or £1.00... There no need for this especially when the going price is 1 pound. Not a large hair range either.

Been looking to do a review for a while. Shop was well stocked when i visited. However this is an Asian male run hair shop. They dont know about hair or the ethnicities theyre "catering" to. Was annoyed at the assumption that we're all just looking for a straight wig or relaxer 🙄. We dont all want straight/damaged hair. The shop is packed with straight synthetic wigs and very little curly choices. I would say to any Black, Biracial people or people with curlier hair textures to find a shop owned by Black people or people with your hair for a better service.

This place has the best selection of Afro beauty products in Dalston, maybe in the world! I always pop in here on my way past, because if you have Afro hair its impossible to resist and even if you don't, there are still plenty of bargains to be had in this Aladdin's cave of cocoa butter and carrot oil. They have all the best-known brands such as Dark and Lovely, Nexus and Palmer's and the shop is much larger and better stocked than the several others that line the high street. They always have special offers on products and they also have a great selection of wigs and hair extensions. My only gripe with this store is that the sales people are quite irritating and pushy, although it's clearly not too much of a deterrent since I still go back after one of them shouted across the store that I had dry hair and then came running over to spray me with something that looked like Coming to America's Soul Glo .

About 3 years ago I bought myself an huuuuge can of industrial strength hair spray from here. I still have it and it still works like a dream. It cost me less than 4 quid and I still have the price tag on it to show with pride that it can from Afro World! They also sell some types of henna that you can't get in other places, liquid and powder. All go stuff. If you have blonde hair and like to by that special purple shampoo, get it from here. It's like half the price of anywhere else! I can lose hours in Afro World, I really can.

this store has lots of WEAVE (extensions, weave-on, whatever!) and tons of hair products, oils, hair sprays, and accessories. though they didn't have everything I was looking for (hoping to find something so I wouldn't have to purchase online) they still had a lot of products. I was annoyed by the fact that every two minutes someone was trying to "help" me (if I need help, I will ask for it!) but all in all, it was ok.

worst customer services I have ever experienced. I ordered with them on line. Its meant to take 2-3 working days, after 3months I still hadn't received my order, so I asked for my money back this took another 2 weeks. Every time I rang the business to ask where my order was or when my money would be back in my account I was lied too.
