afros makes SOO MANY unique and one-of-a-kind pizzas, and they were all so delicious. not to mention, the guys were super friendly !! prices are super reasonable too. while the flavours were super interesting, i’d say the most outstanding part was the crust — every single one of the pizzas had super crunchy, crispy edges, with a thick and fluffy interior, baked with a strong savoury cheese taste.
my favourite one was the hendrix , which was an INSANE chicken and waffles style pizza. the chunks of chicken were savoury and paired SOOO well with the sweetness of the maple infused and seeping out of the crust with each bite. it was also a bit spicy, and there was a strong sharp cilantro taste.
the sam cooke had a crispy panko sprinkled all over, and the tart sweet cranberry went well with the salty chunks of turkey. dipping the fluffy soft dough hOT SAVOURY gravy made it super juicy and it kind of just exploded with flavours in your mouth.
the jackie brown was also really great, although the tanginess of the coleslaw and the kick of the crispy jalapeño was much stronger than the chicken taste, and i didn’t really get much of it?? but i don’t mind because it was still really tasty.
the mac and cheese was baked with a crispy top but the noodles underneath were drenched in a creamy, cheesy sauce and it was just an all around super classic comforting dish.
