The 17 Best Afternoon Teas In London

"From £75 Monday to Thursday, and £85 from Friday to Sunday Afternoon tea at the Corinthia hotel is hosted in the Crystal Moon Lounge—you’ll understand the name once you see the gargantuan crystal chandelier. It’s a serene space where piano notes caress your ear and a dessert trolley is always within reach. There’s a bespoke tea menu of original blends which mix things like earl grey, darjeeling, and assam, plus excellent sandwiches which are topped up, and some of our favourite afternoon tea desserts and scones. Book for a special occasion or to introduce someone to afternoon tea the proper way." - rianne shlebak, eileen twum

The Best Places for Afternoon Tea in London

"Harrods’ Tea Rooms first opened in 1911, the year of King George V’s coronation, and was initially named The Georgian, quickly becoming renowned for its tea dances on the special sprung dance floor. Today, it is one of the most Googled afternoon teas in London, offering a truly idiosyncratic ‘English’ experience. The fourth-floor space is huge – it’s no surprise to learn that it was formerly the biggest restaurant in town, with capacity for 1,200–and beautifully Art Deco: it has an intricate, light-splashing skylight with wrought ironwork, a mixture of lush booths and round tables, adjoining Perrier-Jouet Champagne terrace and a long-haired pianist tinkling out classics perfectly on a grand. The vibe is completely calm no matter how full it gets, with friendly, unflappable staff who manage to be incredibly precise while putting you at ease. (Note: dress code is smart casual, which means no trainers, shorts, sportswear, flip flops or midriffs, thank you very much). The menu, featuring sweet illustrations by Alice Nyong, has no less than eight pages of teas to choose from – classic, black, green, oolong, white, herbal, plus coffees and hot chocolates – accompanied by a unique little key showing how sweet, floral, woody or astringent each is. There are also plenty of alcoholic options, such as interesting tea-based cocktails, and even really very good non-alcoholic rosé Champagne. The crustless sandwiches are all dainty and delicate, with the stand-outs being the classic English cucumber and mint cream cheese, the ‘King George’ salt beef, and the Faroe Island smoked salmon and lemon cream cheese with white chocolate sprinkled on top. From the pastry selection, the meadow honey cake and chocolate pralines palet are just as pretty and indulgent as they sound—or you can explore the banoffee delice and Pink Lady apple crumble over on the entirely separate vegan menu. Don’t miss the Orient-Express style bathrooms or chic lounge heavy with Chanel tomes just next door, before working off your tea while languidly trying to find an exit in the world’s most famous labyrinth of a department store. Becky Lucas Address: 87-135 Brompton Road, London SW1X 7XLPrice from: £62, or approximately $78" - Tabitha Joyce, Condé Nast Traveller

Hands down my favourite afternoon tea in London! Exceptional service from James, they couldn’t do enough for us! The sandwiches and scones we delicious, we decided to take the cakes home as we were so full up with two rounds of sandwiches! Unfortunately a water bottle had leaked in our bag of sweet treats ruining them all, so sadly we never got to try them! Will definitely be booking again so we can finally experience them!

I’ve been to the Crystal Moon Lounge at the Corinthia for afternoon tea four times already, and I simply can’t get enough of the experience — I highly recommend it! This is more than just an afternoon tea: it’s an experience that keeps you coming back. With exquisite food, exceptional service, and a stunning atmosphere, the Corinthia sets the standard for what a luxury afternoon tea should be. The food is divine, not only in taste but also in presentation. Each dish is crafted with elegance, and the menu evolves over time, making each visit feel fresh and new. The tea selection is very varied, for all tastes. The service is impeccable, warm, thoughtful, and highly personal. You’re served by the same waiter, who will remember your dietary preferences and goes the extra mile to acknowledge any special occasion you’re celebrating with a thoughtful gesture. This attention to detail makes the experience feel truly tailored and luxurious. The ambiance is bright, airy, and elegant. The natural light and decoration create a setting that feels almost like dining outdoors while still being in the comfort of an opulent indoor space. Finally, children are warmly welcomed, with a specially designed activity set to keep them entertained…that is, if they aren’t already busy indulging in the delicious treats on offer! It’s a thoughtful touch that makes the experience enjoyable for guests of all ages.

Had one of the best afternoon tea experiences at the Corinthia. The food was delicate, delicious and plentiful. They weren't tight-fisted! They brought extra if you wanted it and were gracious about it. We've never had such excellent service during afternoon tea! They even noted that we mentioned our daughter and her friend had birthdays and brought out birthday cakes without us having to request it! Wonderful service! We first went to the Marriott Hotel County Hall, but were turned away. That's the second time that happened. The first time it was because no one was there, so they weren't serving high tea. This time it was because they were full. Don't bother! Go to the Corinthia!

Beautiful afternoon tea, especially love your lapsang souchong tea blend and pistachio eclair. Inventive sandwiches too. Thank you Rosa for taking such good care of us!

Google
I chose to go on an afternoon tea for my birthday and I'm very happy we chose Corinthia. Our experience was great and the location was beautiful. Plentiful tea options and the sandwiches were delicious. I still think about the scones they were warm and soft, so good! I didn't really care for the desserts but I'm not heavy on sweets. Absolutely recommend for your London afternoon tea experience.

I recently had the Festive Afternoon Tea at the Corinthia London's Crystal Moon Lounge and it was undoubtedly the best afternoon tea I have ever had. It consisted of three courses: sandwiches, scones and cakes / pastries. The sandwiches were not only tasty but consisted of different flavours which contrasted well. The festive jam which accompanied the scones was delicious. However, the real highlight was the cakes. It is difficult for me to choose a favourite, but I particularly enjoyed the Mont Blanc Choux and Plum & Amaretto Tartlet. The Crystal Moon Lounge itself is stunning and was the perfect environment to relax and enjoy the tea in comfort. It was also beautifully decorated for the festive season. However, the absolute highlight for me was the excellent service provided by the staff. Not only were they professional and welcoming, but they struck the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing me to enjoy the tea at my own pace. My server did an excellent job of explaining the courses and also responding to any queries or requests. Afternoon tea is one of my favourite treats and I will definitely be returning to the Corinthia London in future to enjoy the non-Festive Afternoon Tea.

Yelp
Had the most wonderful Christmas afternoon tea here Arrived early so sat at the bar and had 2 tasty champagne cocktails, our bartender was amazing and very kind and attentive . The actual tea room is soo beautiful stunning with the chandelier and the service was amazing from all our servers from start to finish The sandwiches were delicious and the teas were great, we chose the chocolate noir and the Darjeeling The scones were a smaller size than I'm used to but I appreciate not feeling over stuffed, the plum jam was my favorite and I loved that they sent us home with a jar as a gift- The desserts were lovely and pretty and they have it on a cart they wheel table side A very unique British experience that you should try when in London As always the pink champagne was the icing on the cake!! It's worth the money that you spend here !!

Yelp
Beautiful and absolutely luxurious, this was a wonderful hotel to stay at and has great amenities and great location - right next to embankment and the river. Less than 5min walk to Trafalgar Square and St. James park. Room wise - we stayed in the river suite and it was so lovely. It had a beautiful living room and bedroom with 1.5 bathrooms. Service was great. We had a butler that came to do turn down service and was always at hand to help with any requests. Spa - the spa downstairs is so nice. Big spa and saunas. The pool is small but also has family hours. Really great relaxation rooms. Breakfast - the breakfast in the mornings were awesome. You had a menu to pick your main breakfast from but also a bar for you to go and select bread, charcuterie, cereals and other things. The green juice is so yummy.

Yelp
Our second stay - we had a brief one night layover a couple years ago and knew we had to come back to explore more of the city and this fabulous hotel. It's all in the details - from the moment you arrive at the airport they have a driver waiting for you, and when you arrive at the hotel you're welcomed by everyone you come into contact with. Breakfast was included and excellent. Velvet was a sexy, luscious spot for a nightcap, there was an amazing trio playing and Katrina was a wonderful server. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom, and the bed heavenly and comfortable. If we are ever back in London, pretty sure we will always stay here! Perfect location for so many sights - Trafalgar Square nearby and the embankment station is closest tube.

Yelp
We experienced excellent service from the moment we walked in! A traditional high tea service is offered at the Corinthia, with or without champagne along with a large variety of tea selections. Our tea was served hot and refreshed often; however, I was surprised sugar cubes were not served, instead of packets. The finger sandwiches and pastries were tasty; typical of high tea offerings. The vanilla creme pastry puff, mango tart and chocolate hazelnut desserts were definitely standouts. Our service was outstanding and the attentive servers and live piano music made for a memorable experience!

Yelp
The high tea experience in their moonlight chandelier room was phenomenal. My only wish is they offered times earlier then 2p as I was quite hungry by that time. Our server was very accommodating with my current diet restrictions and I ended up opting for the vegetarian sandwiches instead of getting the regular plate and needing to exclude any deli meat, smoked meat which would have excluded more than half of the choices. They give you refills of whichever sandwiches you like so don't worry about not getting full. Their sparkling tea is a must try. I went with the green tea variety while my husband got the hibiscus and both were very tasty and made the experience extra special even without champagne. I really appreciate the non alcoholic options dining places have as it makes me feel included while I can't drink. After sandwiches you'll get treated to some very delicious scones accompanied by clotted cream and several jam varieties. I think these were my favorite of the ones I've tried in London. With tea there was an option for all pallettes. I highly recommend trying the chocolate one. The lychee fusion was also very nice. All the teas we had were delicious so you can't go wrong. Just when we think we're done, our server brought out a celebration mini cake for our special occasion in addition to a cake cart and explained all the options. It's not a choose x amount, you get one of each beautiful cake. My favorites ended up being a chocolate eclair, strawberries and cream and our passion fruit cake. Don't worry about being unable to finish as they will box up your leftovers. Overall I loved this tea experience and would highly recommend it. We booked ahead online and they will check in about any food allergies or restrictions.

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights during London marathon. Loved this hotel all around. Excellent five star service, big rooms, awesome waterfall shower, huge soaking tub. The spa here is amazing, one of the best I've ever been to. Four floors with coed sauna, steam room and pools. We used the spa twice, once during our stay and we even came back to use it again. We also tried the afternoon tea which was excellent. We were traveling to Edinburgh for a few days and didn't want to take our big suitcases and they stored it for us free of charge. Location is excellent within walking distance to the tube and many tourist sites like the London eye, Trafalgar square, Covent Garden, etc.

Yelp
This is a very nice hotel. My review is for their tea time in their restaurant not the hotel stay. Reservations in advance required for tea-time- credit card over the phone is required. The service, and the selection of what was offered was superior to another hotel tea time I tried in London. The egg sandwich with truffle was amazing.. all the tea sandwiches were good.

Yelp
Staying here right now. I don't usually write a review until a stay is over but I don't want to forget. Beautiful hotel. Great place to stay in London! Quiet and comfortable rooms with a lot of style and a great bed. Excellent room service for breakfast in the room before heading out for the day. Nice hospitality and overall service along with a very convenient location makes this a great place to stay. Thank you!

Yelp
Beautiful space with pretty decor, amazing staff, and clean bathrooms My husband and I traveled from the US for our honeymoon. Made the reservation online about two weeks in advance (many spots available at that point!). Opted for afternoon tea rather than high tea because we wanted sandwiches and sweets! TEA: Sparkling tea is delicious and great for those who don't drink. Server will fill one champagne flute. The jasmine tea was smooth and delicious; the green tea was subtle and smooth. COURSE 1: Sandwiches were very tasty - comes with two of each. Both of our favorite: truffle with egg. Server was kind enough to bring two more without charge! Note: all buffet breakfasts we had in Europe included salmon lox - so much fancier than in the US! COURSE 2: Two scones for two - yummier with the strawberry jam inside. COURSE 3: Dessert doubles - very very decadent. The fact that we could not finish was our biggest regret during this occasion! Perhaps we could have shared one of each and asked to pack our leftovers?? Didn't seem like the vibe though... Overall, great experience and definitely the highlight of our stay in London. (A bit pricey but seems standard and transparent on the online menu. Service fee included and divided among the staff so no need to tip on top!)

Yelp
My wife wanted to experience Afternoon Tea on her first visit to London so we looked around chose the Crystal Moon Lounge. [[ Location ]] It is located inside the Corinthia London Hotel which is beautiful and close to Trafalgar Square which you can walk around before or afterwards. [[ Dress Code ]] They are not strict on dress code and you can be pretty casual. I saw people wearing t-shirts, shorts, and sneakers/sandals. Don't worry if you didn't bring formal or smart wear. This is great since as a tourist in the summer, it can be very hot. [[ Food ]] We opted for the traditional afternoon tea which was about 65 GBP per person. The afternoon tea comes in 3 waves. 1.) Selection of Finger Sandwiches 2.) Scones served with Organic Strawberry, Rhubarb and Litsea Cubeba jam. It also comes with Cornish Clotted Cream in case you prefer that instead. 3.) Sweet Delicacies depending on the season For 1.), the server will ask if you want to eat anymore sandwiches. You can get as many as you want which is a nice touch. [[ Conclusion ]] Overall the experience was pretty fun and we had a great time. I would recommend coming here for afternoon tea.

Yelp
Best 10 days ever! Everything about this hotel was great, from the moment we checked in, to the time we checked out. There was a small glitch in our room that was immediately responded to. The location was perfect. this was our first time in London and we are so glad we stayed here. What really made this stay exceptional was the staff. they could not have been nicer. 5 star hotels are more than just a pretty lobby, it is the team that makes it work and the Corinthia has made that happen...We truly enjoyed our 10 days there! Can not wait to come bac

Yelp
Simply the best! Loved the Corinthian London! The perfect place to escape the busy streets of the city and experience a luxurious afternoon..the service was impeccable, the staff was friendly and I cannot wait to return! 5 stars for the entire experience.

Yelp

Yelp
Excellent location for HIGH END AF afternoon tea. The place is stunning and over the top in all the right ways. Top not service. Lots of tea selections. Yummy sandwiches and pastries. You'll just feel like you're royalty as this places oozes with luxury! Make a reservation and lean the hell in on an over the top decadent experience.

Yelp
I loved everything about my stay here. They are attentive, they are helpful and they will even bring you your Uber eats! (LOL) it's true though! I really loved the location of the Corinthia and the room was perfect temperature, well equipped and virtually soundproof. The bathtub televisions was dreamy after a day in the office and walking around town. I would not suggest the room service. Not because it's not delightful, but it's super expensive for some relatively simple items - hence my earlier comment about Ubereats! So many great spots to eat around this hotel - if you can, get out there! Starbucks is VERY close, the Tube is nearby and there are plenty of good enough pubs within stumbling distance. The strand is close by and there are some great gifts to be purchased right across the way (go toward the river walk). The pricing of this hotel can go UP and down, so if you can hit it just right, it's worth every penny. Above and beyond 500 pounds, I might suggest staying elsewhere. The fresh flowers in the lobby and beautiful high-tea spread is to die for. I love how they have not let go of regal tradition. Looking forward to returning.

Yelp
The Corinthia London is the top of ultra luxury hotels, and in all my travels I have never experienced such amazing service. The hotel is simply beautiful. Every step through the public areas (lobbies and restaurants) offer breathtaking views of modern furniture, fresh flowers, stunning chandeliers, and modern decor. The service here is immaculate. Every employee greets you with a smile and a warm hello, and if you pause for a moment, even simply to admire the beautiful appointments in this hotel, a staff member will stop to offer assistance. I've never experienced such a well trained team of service professionals in my life. Honestly, this management team could offer a case study for providing luxury experiences. The room we had (garden terrace suite) was incredibly spacious, and well decorated with modern furniture and every creature comfort one could imagine. The room was the size of a small apartment, it made me wish I could stay here forever. The spa is absolutely over-the-top gorgeous, with so many things to do and simply incredible design appointments. I have never seen it's equal in all my travels. The hotel is located right in the heart of London in the Westminster area, allowing one to walk to a nearby tube station or to any of the local attractions in just minutes. The only problem with this is that you may never want to leave the hotel, because The Corinthia offers the best of everything in London, all in one place. In summary, I would not only recommend The Corinthia London, I should say it is an absolute requirement to stay here if one wishes to sample the very best in luxury hotel experiences. My only regret is that we did not book our stay for longer. The value for the money spent here makes this hotel one of the best things one can do to ensure a pleasurable stay in London. I could go on and on about this hotel, but simply put: The Corinthia London is the best of the best in luxurious hotels, they should be studied by hospitality management education programs as a case study in immaculate service and facilities management. Bravo to the Corinthia management team. You have really outdone yourselves. Thank you for providing my wife and I with such an amazing luxury experience. This hotel deserves every one of my 5 Stars, in fact I would give them 100 stars if I could. We will be coming back and making sure we book more time here for our next visit. Simply amazing!

Yelp
What can I say this is the best hotel EVER! We stayed in a suite. We came into town for the BAFTAs because my husband was nominated and the hotel totally spoiled us. They were so nice and accommodating. They laid out a wonderful welcome spread in our hotel to congratulate us on the BAFTA nomination with fruit and champagne and everything. We had them steam and press our BAFTA clothing the day before and they did a great job! We ordered room service and it came quickly and again everyone was so nice. I loved that our room had a doorbell too. My husband DID win the BAFTA and there was a bottle of Champagne waiting for us when we got back to the room! We loved being so spoiled. Thank you again for the amazing service

Yelp
If you are looking for an afternoon tea location in London... Look no further, you found the perfect spot. Staff are professional yet friendly, warm and attentive. Food was tasty and well executed. The portions are generous, the tea keeps flowing!(and so does the food!, my fiancé had a second helping of sandwiches ). The Corinthia is a beautiful 5 star, luxury hotel, exquisitely located in the center of London. Although prices are not low, the quality justifies what you pay. I would most definitely come back for another afternoon tea. My partner had a glass of champagne with his, while I decided to skip the bubbly. We paid around £150, which compared to previous experiences seems very reasonable. I cannot forget to mention the lovely pianist who came by for a lovely chat and played lots of songs especially for us . Hopefully see you soon again!.

Yelp
This is a great hotel. They really know how to treat their guests. I was there for a week and everything was awesome. Pool and spa downstairs are well maintained with an attendant looking after the facilities. Concierge service was on point with their dinner recommendations especially Guillaume. I forget my iPhone charger but they brought one up right away. Anytime I needed a taxi they had one summoned in mere seconds. The day I arrived they accommodated an early check in. The day I left they loaded my bags into the taxi while I was checking out. As for food and drink the breakfast was good if not spectacular. One day I ordered off menu and the other day I had the buffet. Went to Ketteridges for a drink and that was fun, though I did not sample the food. Also had some wine in their other bar. Love the Nespresso machines in the rooms so I could get started each morning with a coffee. I also think the location is a good one as it is not too far west or too Far East. My meetings were all within a close range which cut down on the stress of the trip. And after work there are great neighborhoods and restaurants in walking distance. I will repeat!

Yelp
Everything about the Corinthia Hotel was incredible. The service, the ambiance, the flowers, the food - they know what they are doing here and they do it well. I stayed in a garden suite, which was gorgeous. The hallways leading to the rooms is spacious and the hardwood floors are beautiful. The bed was comfy and turn down service daily was a nice touch. We had satchels of lavender on our bed, and of course, chocolate. The bathroom was huge, with a nice tub and a towel warming rack. The shower and toilet are separated from the rest of the bathroom, which is nice when you are sharing a room with someone. Breakfast in the room was amazing. Lobster Benedict was especially delicious. All in all, this is not a cheap hotel but you really do get luxury treatment. The inside of the hotel is really impressive and the service is top notch. I'd love to stay here again.

Yelp
This review for catered event only. Here for two-day conference in several rooms and halls. First class service, facilities, catering and a staff fully attentive to hospitality. Convenient location too. History of hotel is a grand Victorian building dating back to the late 1800s, and totally updated. I would rate 6 Stars if I could. * Attentive service in all respects...before, during and after each meal. * Delightful lunch that included imaginative salads, Sea Bass entrée with mixed veggies, inventive desserts with fruit, and delicious coffee. * Décor is fresh and understated luxury with huge ceilings * Convenient to the heart of London, and the Embankment Underground station * Appetizers served at the end of the day with wine were tasty, visually appetizing, and attentively prepared. Generously served during entire cocktail hour. And yes, there are Rolls Royces parked out front presumably for hire.

Yelp
My husband and I choose to stay in this hotel because of our previous experience. But this time, the hot didn't meet our expectations. This hotel is in a prime location. However, if you are muslim, consider that the bidet pipe inside the toilet not working in most of the rooms as we were told by hotel's technician. Also all the sinks have drainage problem. Though they changed our room, but we had sink's drainage issue till last day of our stay. All staffs are very nice and friendly. The hotel's room service was amazing. They clean every morning and re check in the evening. If you are staying in this hotel, you should try pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Though, it was not as clean as our last stay. There was lots of dirt on the back side of jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet has lots of variety. However, it is expensive and you should be careful when you get the bill. Every day we had issue because of wrong calculation. Also it took very long to bring my boiled egg and I had to cancel my order. we complained to manager mr. Nicholas and he was so nice to consider and gave us a complementary breakfast. When we wanted to checkout, I asked for late checkout because of our flight time and they were nice to extend it till 2 pm instead of 12. However, from 1:30 they keep calling and come to the room and asked us when we will checkout. Since it is a luxury 5 star hotel and it is an expensive one, I can not accept these issues. It is not worth the money we paid.

Yelp
Ummm how do I describe the Corinthia? Heaven. Yep, heaven for sure. Seriously the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. Incredible architecture, decor, and ambiance. It was an absolutely dream from start to finish. The staff took us on a tour of the hotel when we checked in, which is absolutely necessary since the place is huge. There's multiple dining areas, bars, and a spa. We got the king suite, which came with a bathtub (that had a tv, wow!), shower, etc. The spa was amazing, even if you just go to the pool/sauna. I would certainly recommend going. The bar downstairs had a lovely bartender who opened a bottle of mezcal for me (only mezcal I could find in London woohoo!). He made creative, fun drinks for us. Breakfast the next morning was brought to our room and it was superb. I would say all in all, amazing place. Perfect location as well. Come knowing you're going to spend a pretty penny, but here I think it's worth it!

Yelp
Can I live here forever? This place is beautiful and the view from my room is amazing overlooking busy streets of london with the red london buses and black nostalgic taxis'. Atmospher in the restaurant was tranquil and the waiting staff were very attentive to our table. Great choice for our staff dinner meeting. :D

Yelp
Came here for the afternoon tea. BEST service I had my whole trip. They did not even want me to lift a finger except to eat my food. I didn't pour my own tea or organize my food. The sandwiches we delicious...all of them. The desserts, scones, everything. Hell I don't even like marshmallows but theirs were delicious. White Rose was my favorite. The tea choices were diverse and plentiful and the champagne was nice. Overall, this was the best experience of my trip.

Yelp
When we visit London, we only stay here. This is by far the best hotel stays we've ever had. When you walk towards the hotel, you see luxury in every detail. The street is lined with some of the most expensive cars you could ever find. Lamborghini, Maserati, Rolls Royce, Bentley...you name it, we've seen it parked here. When you walk into the hotel, the luxury continues with their detailed decor and style. There is a large table that is beautifully decorated with fresh floral arrangements in vases. To the right is hotel check in, the left is the concierge. Both with a desk of people waiting to help. If you walk straight into the hotel and go up the stairs, you can go to the restaurants or sit down and have a drink beneath a large, gorgeous round chandelier. It's a wonderful experience just to walk in and see the hotel. What makes the Corinthia great isn't the views or even location, it's the staff. They are so friendly and helpful, everyone is eager to direct you and wish you the best day. Having my daughter in a large, American stroller made it hard to get around at times...and through the small European doorways. There was always someone to help open the doors, hold the elevators, offer directions, and hail us a cab. The hotel is located in Central London; steps from Big Ben and the Houses or Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Thames River, London Eye, Cleopatra's Needle, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, etc. Its a great location to see some of London's most famous attractions on foot or short cab ride. There is also an Underground stop just across the street from the hotel (we never used the subway system though). The spa is incredible and voted as one of the best spas in all of London. It was hard for us to use as they have limited pool hours for children. Our hotel room was beautiful and had nice city views. It had a comfortable king size bed with a crib for my daughter. The crib also came with a Burt's Bees bath set and little stuffed animal for her. The bathroom was huge and had the most amazing rain shower head. The room was cleaned in the afternoon, looking as perfect as when we first checked in each day. In the evening, we found the turn down service was lovely. They would have slippers on each side of the bed for us with a chocolate on our pillow, or lavender scent bags/spray to help calm us for bed. We've stayed her twice and have enjoyed our stay both times. We can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Fantastic tea and even better service! My only complaint is that we waited too long to pay at the end. The value for the price paid was great. The sandwiches were delicious and we were offered additional ones before the scones came out. I've had better scones, but I did enjoy the rhubarb jam that accompanied them. The desserts were plentiful. They brought over a cart and asked which you'd like to try. We tried them all and they were all good. My favorite was the éclair. Before the tea, I had never tasted an éclair that I liked. My tea was really good. I wanted to try something different and chose the Kooibos Tea. Our tea was refreshed about halfway through and someone was always around to refill our tea cups. I appreciated that because the tea pot was extremely heavy. We were a party of 2 and loved the seating along the side of the wall. I will definitely return on my next trip to London.

Yelp
Stopped off here for a drink at the bar. However, children are not allowed in that area. We opted for the lobby area for some drinks and to warm up. It's freezing outside at this time. Unfortunately, this area was drafty and cold. However, the beauty, the service ad the presentation of the drinks including the tea was first rate. Not bad after all.

Yelp
Didn't stay the night but stayed for afternoon tea. The ambiance, decor, the staff, everyone was wonderful. I'm pretty sure the woman who was taking care of us may have given me the stink eye a few times over afternoon tea etiquette, but I tried to remember haha- it was my first time. She recommended the black mango tea and it was absolutely delightful. The sandwiches and scones were also delicious- honestly the entire afternoon tea experience was my favorite thing during my visit to London. Thank you for making it unforgettable- will be back next time for sure

Yelp
I chose this hotel to be close to all the Central London spots - 5min walks to Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbe, Parliament, Big Ben, London Eye, South Bank! Service is excellent. The free access to the Spa lounge and pool area is great to wind down after a long day of sigh seeing.

Yelp
My mom and I spent $18000 for 3 nights. Not worth the money!!! Called the front desk many times no answer. Needed a charger and had to go to the front desk because no one answered at reception (for $18000 why is no one answering the phone)! On top of this we were stranded an hour away in a foreign country with no help from the hotel. Concierge didn't return our call and manger was too busy to speak to us! It's only day 1 at this place and it's not worth the money. Stay at the Savoy it's 1/3 of the money and 200% better service!

Yelp
Had my very first high tea experience in London! I had a business meeting with a big group of people (14). The table setting was very awkward and inconvenient for us all to sit and talk with the other people we were meeting. It was not the kind of fancy tea I had imagined. I was hoping for higher tables and chairs. We were seated on couches squished snd slumping over low coffee sized tables in front. As for food, the biscuits and spreads were delicious. It didn't taste like it was all made of butter. It was a nice dense texture and delicious. The finger sandwiches were very boring and simple. The cheese and spread used tastes like the cheap stuff from a local supermarket. The ladies I was with felt hungry b/c the sandwiches were so unsatisfying. So they ordered fries. The fries were very yummy! The tea and pastry selections were nice too! However I got to say... I was a little bum about the pastry. The colors weren't Instagram-able. Pinks and pastels works for me. In all I had a great experience and time but it's b/c of my company. The venue was beautiful, terrible table arrangement for our occasion though! I would rather try another place the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Wow, the Corinthia Hotel has had a reputation for being a good hotel for many years... and until today I would have agreed. This year I ended up in a dingy (the rugs being the qualifier for that description) & the smallest room I have seen in the hotel since I started staying there. Since there have someone else staying in this room with me it will be uncomfortable to say the least. At over 500pds a night I am not a happy customer. Maybe the 2 stars is a little harsh, but I am extremely disappointed in how several issues have been handled, "I'm sorry" just does not cut it sometimes. I try to write nice reviews on yelp, I would like to consider it a platform for sharing positive experiences w/friends... it is upsetting that I am in a position to feel strongly inclined to write a review like this.

Yelp
More often than not I am unbelievably disappointed in hotels in the UK. The Corinthia hotel has changed that for me! We checked out of the Corinthia today after a 7 day stay. Here are my thoughts: The Good - *Gorgeous, well-appointed rooms. Beautiful lobby. Loved the Harrods "store." *Staff is unbelievably nice and bends over backwards to accommodate requests. *We didn't eat in either hotel restaurant but breakfast (via room service, which was included in our rate) was top-notch. Not sure what the Corinthia cook does with his scrambled eggs but they are divine! *Location is a bit off the beaten path but the hotel is quiet which is nice. The hotel is just a 3 minute walk from the Embankment tube station which is very convenient. The Not So Good - *Room Service is delicious but every day something was inadvertently left off our delivery (butter and/or milk for tea and/or water, etc.). Not a big deal bit just something to note. *Shower water temperature changes randomly which can be a bit dangerous. *Check out was the only real issue...the clerk tried to charge us for breakfast (which was included in our rate) and also refuted the spa credit that was allotted to us. Not sure why this was such a problem since I booked our stay directly on the Corinthia's website and thus everything should have been clearly indicated in their system? Everything was sorted out in the end but I hated leaving on a slightly negative note. The Bottom Line - I will definitely stay at the Corinthia on my next visit to London. This was definitely an overall fantastic experience and I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
The Lobby Lounge has an outdoor area where you can have a fine cigar and perfect Manhattan. Why a Manhattan in London? If you have to ask... The drinks are expertly made the food works. Have a cigar and a drink and then another. Do not falter

Yelp
Came to London for a layover and decided to make a weekend out of it. We stayed at the luxurious Corinthia Hotel. Service was great and the rooms were immaculate. I highly recommend stopping off to visit the restaurants inside the hotel. Food was delicious and the service was prompt and attentive.

Yelp
My wife and I chose to celebrate our honeymoon on November 29th, 2018 through December 3rd, 2018 at one of the most prestigious 5-star hotels in London, The Corinthia, or so we were told, but were continuously disappointed throughout our stay. Immediately after checkin we considered canceling our reservation and moving to the Savoy as we very much regretted our choice. The staff did not perform to a 5 star level and we are writing to inform the management of the good and bad so things might improve for future guests. Arrival Upon arrival we were greeted by Alex. We did not inquire about upgrading our room but Alex shared with us that were going to be upgraded from an Executive king room to a junior suite. Upon checking Alex then informed us there were none of the Junior Suites available. This set the tone for the stay. Being told that you can have something better but then not delivering was a huge and unnecessary disappointment. Further, no one at Corinthia made an effort to recognize this special time for us, our honeymoon, and the reason for our stay. The first room was nothing special and lacked a fireplace as advertised on the website. It was a standard room that you would find at any 3 star Hilton and not what we expected when staying in a 5 star hotel. We called the from desk and asked if there were other layout options available. They offered to show us another room on the same floor. We accepted the move and informed Alex our bags were ready to be moved. We waited for several minutes and no one showed up. We had to drag all of our luggage down the hall where we discovered our keycards did not work for the new room and we were locked out of our old room. My wife had to search for a phone in the hall and call the front desk. After finally arriving to the room to let us in, the lady seemed annoyed and also there was no one else with her, confirming our belief that the hotel was never going to help us move our luggage. Upon unlocking the door my wife and I were again forced to move all of our luggage into the room without an offer of assistance. Room Service Room service was good. The food was very delicious and we enjoyed the wings and Mac and cheese. It was prompt and well displayed on the cart. This was the only positive aspect in our stay. Bar We had cocktails at the bar. The toasted coconut old fashioned was superb. Restaurant We tried the hotel restaurant and while waiting to be say were told to hurry up and order because the kitchen was closing. It was clear that the staff only cared about getting us out as quickly as possible. I ordered the Cesar salad with chicken and received a nearly palatable bed of greens with a very sad and bland tasting whole chicken breast. My wife ordered fish and chips and received a heavily battered and greasy fillet of unknown aquatic origins. Concierge I requested tickets to be printed. I called the concierge one morning and was given an email address. Nearly an hour later nothing had been delivered to our room. We went down to the lobby to the concierge desk to ask for the documents but were redirected to the front desk. The lady had to search for the email and print the documents while we waited and watched as many as six Corinthia employees stood around not doing anything but talking amongst themselves. As of now we will not plan on staying at the Corinthia again and will recommend to our friends and family that they avoid this hotel as it does not live up to expectations. The stay at the Corinthia was proceeded by an amazing experience at the Plaza Athenee in Paris. Not only did they welcome us with rose petals and complimentary bottles of wine each day, they went above and beyond to exceed our expectations in every aspect. I would recommend tuning the Corinthia's guest relations to mirror this extraordinary service.

Yelp
An iconic hotel in the heart of London. Try here for afternoon tea or a delicate cocktail or two.

Yelp
I was contemplating whether to give 3 or 4 stars.... But I'm feeling generous today, so I'll do 4. Not really my taste when it comes to decor and style, but still a nice hotel regardless. Now I know it's London... But rooms are pretty small, even for the suites... The bathrooms, however, are amazing. They are huge and very comfortable with heated marbles.

Yelp
My memorable stay at this wonderful hotel was marked with understated luxury and elegance. I had the pleasure of calling the Corinthia home for three weeks, during a business trip. The executive room I stayed in was spacious (particularly for London), immaculate, and tastefully luxurious without being overly opulent. My room had large, gorgeous, sit-in windows with street views. The bed was big and very comfortable. The room came with a remote for different lighting options, including "mood" lighting-- which I found funny, but maybe useful for some guests. The large bathroom had heated floors, and a tv in the soaking bath. The separate shower had both traditional and rain faucets. The bath amenities were good quality. The walk-in closet even had a bench, internal lights, and a mirror-- all you need for getting ready. Additional perks included treats on my pillow (alternating between chocolates and lavender sachets) and fresh slippers every night, with turn down. The service was impeccable. My wake up call would include tea in my room, and someone would even open my curtains for me if I wanted. When I'd come back to my room at night, I'd find any stray clothes neatly folded. Overall, first class accommodation without any affectedness or attitude. The lobby was beautifully decorated and scented, with sprawling flower arrangements. High tea and breakfast were consistently of excellent quality. The hotel is centrally located, right across the river from the London Eye, a quick walk to Embankment station, and a stone's throw from Piccadilly Circus. I loved the Corinthia, and hope one day I'm fortunate enough to stay here once more. If it's within your budget, stay here for a posh yet peaceful getaway!

Yelp
Food was good, but overpriced. You are basically paying for the ambiance. Service was solid when they came to the table, but the team was not too attentive.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. Full disclosure we had a fabulous suite so my experience is of a stay in an absolutely wonderful room The hotel is gorgeous. Elegant and warm. The suite was amazing - I think I could live there. The staff are all so friendly and helpful from housekeeping to the concierge. Location is very close to three underground stations and you are minutes away from many attractions. The spa is probably the nicest I have been to. I did not have any treatments but just enjoying the facility with its pool, sauna, steam, therapeutic pool or heated lounge chairs in front of a fire is wonderful. The ambiance forces you to relax Hope to go back

Yelp
Afternoon Tea here is to die for!!! The Lobby is beautiful & chic. It is a bit pricey but very much worth it!
