Chin served us and it was overall a really nice experience. You could reserve at the hotel beforehand and the service was spectacular - Chin offered many photo opportunities for us, both with our phones and our polaroid (even though he hasn’t used one before). The pictures turned out well! He was super friendly and engaging and made the experience overall very memorable. It’s a more extravagant way of enjoying high tea, but the experience was worth it, especially with the lake views outside. It came in a set menu so everyone got the same food options, but I believe there were options for people with dietary restrictions. Each food item was delicious, and come in hungry since it’s a bit difficult to finish everything! I really liked the sandwiches and the desserts were made so well. 10/10 spot for instagram photos and suitable for dates and enjoying in a group. We also got a postcard at the end. Would love to come again!

Visited on a Thursday afternoon and it was not that crowded. Good for gathering with friends or family. Nice restaurant located in the hotel next to lake Louise. Waiter was friendly and explained the menu. Choice of mocktail is available. Food was delicious and the tea was fragrant. If you need to visit the restroom, you will have to get a card key from the restaurant front counter and return it after use.

Service and the view are decent. The food and deserts are okay but $105 per person is too pricey.

YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE IF YOU COME TO FAIRMONT CHATEAU! One of the best places for a meal in Banff National Park and all-round it is a 10/10. The food was flavourful and well-cooked. The lunch menu may seem slightly limited but that is a good sign in my opinion, since they want to focus on their best items. We devoured all the food we ordered and we are going back for dinner as well. The drinks were very good. Our server suggested the local beer and the caramel old fashioned. They were both amazing. Nothing beats the view from the restaurant of lake Louise and the mountains. It is a perfect spot for a date, for a family visit or with friends. Finally, our server, Nicholas K was absolutely the best. He asked us for the flavours we enjoyed in our food and drinks and his suggestions were spot on. He even joined us in the banter of teasing one of our friends and that was excellent because he had the emotional intelligence to understand our relationship with each other. You definitely must visit this restaurant if you are visiting/staying in this hotel. If I were you, I would ask for a table served by Nicholas K since he made our experience even better.

We came here for my parent's birthday. The view was exactly what we were hoping for and being seated at a table with a view made the say extra special for us. Our waiter Ross was very knowledgeable and personable. He explained everything in detail and we truly felt taken care of. Food was excellent. We had enough and more food for 4 of us and they provided more at no additional cost.

Google
Afternoon tea at the Fairmont Lake Louise is not ordinary. We loved the food, the service was exceptional and the only time I've felt it easy to tip in Canada so far. Every item was brilliant. The Ementel cheese Madelines were ridiculously good. Is there anything you didn't get right? We'll, to not charge is for our Prosecco because the food was late... Shows that you know how to correct mistakes too. Thank you, kindly.

Google
The views of Lake Louise are unbeatable. We went in expecting to wait a long time but we actually got seated right away. A large selection of food and reasonable prices surprisingly, food was delicious and flavourful. A must see due to the view, again unbeatable when you’re having some afternoon tea. Even if you can’t stay at the Fairmont due to the price, get the afternoon tea. A one in a lifetime experience.

Ok food, great service and gorgeous view. Limited selection of items but they were well cooked, plated and presented. I had the chicken burger and my friend had an Angus which was slightly on the dry side and could have been juicier. The mushroom pasta and desserts were amazing especially the caramel sundae.

Yelp
Wow, I love this place. Just went for a business trip. Can't wait to bring my family back. Expensive... yes. Worth it... yes. Let's start with my #1 highlight - the food. The functions at work hotel meetings, the catering, usually is average at best. The food was delicious. I also had a few things outside of my meeting - the breakfast buffet and a lunch. They were both just way above expectations... a bit expensive but totally worth it, one of the better breakfast buffets I've ever had. My room was recently updated, extremely comfortable. One complaint was I could really hear people in the hallway, and one morning some loud dudes woke me up. But great amenities - bathroom full off high quality products, bedding extremely comfortable. The pool is a bit old, but still very charming. Big indoor heated pool and oversized hot tub. The steam room is a nice touch, very big steam room running all day. They clear the lake for skating. This was a HUGE highlight. Bring your skates or rent them there. People are out playing hockey, taking pictures, lessons, having so much fun. And I mean the view... it is great. Staff was super friendly. I walked thorugh a few areas in the process of renovation, which was a bit creepy, but I quickly got over that. The hotel is overall just so charming, so many activities and shops and things to do, this felt like a real resort in an old classic lodge hotel. 10 minute drive to the Lake Louise Ski resort topped it off. That's a really nice ski area, that I had never heard of until this meeting. 2 hour drive from Calgary into the beautiful mountains. Highly recommended. I hope to be back with family soon. I'll need to save up. I heard it is super expensive in summer. I think winter will do for me and the kids.....

Yelp
Fairmont Chateau is a true fairytale. Five star from arrival to departure and everything you want or need is available. We had a magical stay here for 6 nights and it was everything we had hoped for and more. An organization I work for had our end of year party in Canada and it brought us to Lake Louise. It snowed daily, weather was low 20's F and there was so much to do and see here. There is a complementary shuttle that runs every 30 minutes to / from Lake Louise Mountain. Fairmont offers ski / snowboard rentals/ storage , skate rentals for the ice rink, but tickets must be purchased at the mountain. There is a kiosk available or in person at a walk up window. Activities galore around the resort and be sure to make reservations ahead of time. We did mixology, bingo, champagne at 5pm and a sleigh ride along the frozen lake. Absolutely amazing in every way! There was a New Years Eve celebration held in the ballroom which was a lot of fun for all. There a four great restaurants in the hotel, I would say limited menu but definitely an option for all. We had three rooms as our adult children met us mid vacation, all very clean upon arrival, plenty of space for 3/4 people as the rooms are very spacious. The lake front rooms are gorgeous with an expansive view of the frozen lake and the bathrooms have enough space for two to get ready. If you're considering a stay here, don't hesitate to book the trip. It was truly a dream vacation and we all made the most amazing memories! Cheers!

Yelp
This hotel is the definition of a winter wonderland. Situated in between towering mountain ranges and the Victoria glacier, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise provides guests a majestic view of nature. Getting to the hotel is an adventure. Our drive from Calgary International Airport to Lake Louise was about 2 hours. Side note: we did have to pay a national park entrance fee which amounted to around $60.00 for our 4 night stay at Lake Louise. We upgraded to the Fairmont Gold Junior Lakeview Suite which also has a lake view and conveniently across the hall from the Gold Lounge on the 7th floor. The room was spacious, well-appointed, even came with complementary truffles, fruit basket, and a bottle of white wine. The room features a spacious bathroom with a tub, separate stand up shower, and Le Labo toiletries. Our also came with both morning and turn down service. One of the perks of having a Fairmont Gold level room is the access to the Gold Lounge. There's complimentary continental breakfast, snacks, afternoon canapes, and an honor bar. The highlight of the lounge experience was a our conceirge, Jeany. She anticipated our needs and provided excellent recommendation on activities. There are restaurant options within the property. I highly recommend making reservations to ensure guaranteed seating. Other property amenities include a swimming pool, steam room, workout center, and other activities such as a Cocktail Making Class. Valet parking is available for $55 CAD and self-park is $40 CAD. We opted to self-park. Overall, this hotel is a stand out in location, amenities, and service.

Yelp
Review for the cafe - Lake Louise visitors be warned! The hotel does not allow outside guests (non hotel guests) to wander around the hotel or use their restrooms. We were hungry and just wanted a bite to eat and coffee before the lake Louise hike, and found the cafe in the hotel! Small variety of food items, and of course it was pricey, but it was food.

Yelp
Staying here for a few nights was a gift for my nephew and his wife after their wedding. The place itself is outdated and needs renovation. I suggest Accorhotels take notes from Post Hotel in Houston or from any Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons Toronto. The place has the potential to be more than 5 stars. The location nested far away in gorgeous Alberta mountains and the most beautiful Lake Louise makes it unparalleled. The rooms were old. No good coffee here. The staff were average. The experience of visiting the lake and the activities there is what makes this hotel. Next time I would stay in Banff.

Yelp
This magnificent hotel is on the lake with endless views. One wing is under construction. A lot of the hotel is accessible only with a key card. There are many unique gift & a book shops a long with 7 restaurants . The Chateau Lake Louise is a Fairmont hotel on the eastern side of Lake Louise, near Banff. The original hotel was gradually developed at the turn of the 20th century by the Canadian Pacific Railway and was destroyed by fire in 1924, and was replaced by the current Barrot Wing a year later. Originally built to function only in the summer, it was winterized in 1982 and now offers all the regular ski resort fare during the winter months. In addition to the usual skiing, ice skating & snowboarding, there are sleigh rides, ice sculpture contests & snowshoe excursions.

Yelp
Beautiful view 2nd time around was much warmer in the beginning of September. The first time I came here was over 12 or more years ago in late October and it was freezing. This time I was able to enjoy the canoeing, the fresh air, the blue waters, the views and all of it!! Canoeing ride for 30 minutes is $155 or an hour for $165. Chose the one hour to maximize the experience. Each canoe can hold up to 2 adults and 2 kids each under 55 pounds I think. Heavier sits in the back. You're required to wear a life jacket which is included. Loved the experience.

Yelp
First time staying at a Fairmont and it's at Lake Louise! I was thrilled to visit during the start of winter (it was snowing and very cold) as the castle was very warm and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed the small touches like a welcome gift and extra amenities around the room. I loved the pool and gym area, on a weekday, it's like we had booked it all to ourselves. We went to one of the restaurants for an Ala carte lunch and it was pretty basic and disappointing for the price. It's such a great view, it needs a better menu. We had a custard for dessert that was the best bite for the whole weekend. The breakfast Buffet was a great add on to our room charge, so worth it. All you can eat and you can order small plates from the menu. The egg Benedict was perfectly cooked and they had the best avocado toast.

Yelp
Nestled amidst the breathtaking views of Lake Louise, the Fairmont Hotel in Calgary offers a picturesque backdrop for a dining experience. However, while the scenery was spectacular, my visit was a bit of a mixed bag. Initially drawn to the hotel for its famed high tea, I found myself a bit underwhelmed by the menu selections. As a high tea snob, I had high expectations, but unfortunately, the pairings didn't quite hit the mark for me. The tea room itself was lovely, but the offerings didn't quite match my palate preferences. On the brighter side, the dining area provided a more satisfying experience. I opted for the halibut with vegetables, and I must say, it was delicious. The halibut was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of seasoning, and it wasn't overly fishy--a definite win in my book. I appreciated the accommodating nature of the waitress, who graciously accommodated my dietary requests, ensuring my halibut and veggies were prepared to my specifications and free from any unwanted ingredients (seed oils/canola oil). Overall, my dining experience at the Fairmont Hotel in Calgary was pleasant, albeit with some mixed feelings. While it may not rank as the nicest Fairmont I've visited, the scenic beauty of the area added to the charm of the experience.

Yelp
The good: spectacular view, food is good, not above average but OK. Staff very solicitous and nice, the hotel has a beautiful antique look yet very modern and clean. The bad: for $1000.00 they put us in a room the size of a broom closet, no free continental breakfast or anything, just not feeling why so expensive, the room isn't spectacular, no hot tub, a very small refrigerator, no microwave, just an average small hotel room. The food is very expensive and only average. Could get better food at Deny's, for $1000.00 I expect a bigger room, continental breakfast, or at least a drink from the bar.

Yelp
Bucket-list visit! Didn't have the opportunity to stay overnight, but did spend about half a day here and had such a lovely time! Lake Louise was frozen over, but it was still an incredibly stunning view! Every inch of this chateau is perfection, including the service. We stopped by the coffee shop for a little pick me up, and it was exactly what we needed! We packed our own lunches and sat outside in front of the chateau/lake in the adirondack chairs with our warm drinks. Gorgeous sunny weather and an even better view. If I make it back out to Alberta one day, I would love to stay even just one night because prices are a bit steep, especially depending on the time of year. They are also doing some construction to the chateau, so I'm excited to see the updates!

Yelp
Situated on one of the most beautiful lakes in alberta. Lake louise is so beautiful. So beautiful there are hoardes of tourists trying to drive in to see it and sometimes bus loads of people. It's basically a lottery to try and park here because it's just pure luck. I've done all the hikes and plains of 6 glaciers is probably the best trail at this lake. I did it by horseback and it was by far the most amazing trail of the entire rocky mountains. (I've done every day hike from banff to jasper to canmore over the last 10 years). The best part of going hiking in this area is this beautiful fairmont hotel. I always eat here and I just love everything that I've ordered. The bar is known to make some spectacular cocktails too and the view from the restaurant is pretty breathtaking. There's free wifi and parking is $50 which is pretty worthwhile if you can't get in to the parking lot of lake louise...you can pay to park here. Suggested if your from far away and don't want to miss it. Lake agnes hike is pretty easy for everyone with tons of switchbacks but has a teahouse at the top and connects to several other trails. I prefer the plains of 6 glaciers trail and its best to do it via horseback!

Yelp
My husband booked this hotel for us, and I had a lovely stay. We were fortunate enough to get a lake view, and the view from our room was stunning! Everyone we encountered here were really friendly, and it's such a beautiful hotel. The room was quite small, and the bathroom was probably the tiniest bathroom I've been in (besides cruise ship bathrooms). But the location was simply amazing. It helps that you don't have to wait in line for the canoes if you stay here.

Yelp
Phenomenal! It's like its fifth star kept poking us the entire time that we were there. Situated on Lake Louise, this stunning, beautiful hotel has many amenities to offer. The restaurants and bars are top notch, and the service is spectacular. They were renovating (expanding) the spa while we were there -- based on the hotel, it's sure to be excellent and completed without expense spared! When we arrived, we checked in at the gatehouse then drove up to the hotel and were immediately greeted. Check-in was a breeze, and a room overlooking Lake Louise is to die for! The Fairview Bar and Restaurant lives up to its hype -- the cocktails were amazing! The views by the lake are amazing (could easily sit there for hours). The hotel does a good job of minimizing foot traffic of non-guests. We would 100% come back again. Bravo, Fairmont!

Yelp
We stayed in a 1400+ USD room. It was a very small room. Like a storage room. Smallest room I've ever stayed in. It was Lake facing but it was a very small window. Cannot see the lake until I walked up and tip toed. The toilet it a stain in it. The bathtub didn't drain properly. The drain appeared to be fixed with uneven white paint? Downstairs at the Lake View lounge they had the bar cluttered with dirty glasses. The blue couch in the bar Area was dirty. I emailed concierge a week prior to our booking and never received a reply. I asked about the shuttle to moraine lake in the email and since they never replied I ended up having to book with an outside company. 2 stars because the one person at the front desk who checked us in was 10/10. Rest of experience deserves negative star. With the brand and price tag you think you would be getting luxury but it was down right gross.

Yelp
There is no skipping Faitmont Chateau if you're in the lake louise area, period. Either you'll be here to walk on the frozen lake Louise in winters, skate in it, sipp hot cocoa/mulled wine from the frozen ice bar or you'll take a picture in front of the frozen castle. Either ways, there's plenty to do in winter here. I've not been here in summer, so not going to comment on that, but I bet that it is equally beautiful and much more crowded in the summers. We decided to be a bit bougie out here and indulged ourselves in their afternoon tea. First things first, they had vegan options!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It made me so happy!!!!!!! And second, it was delish! Every delicacy on the tea was yum!! If you like fancy stuff, at a very fancy restaurant - look no further, this is it!

Yelp
This is THAT place that will fulfill your SO's princess dream. Such a fantastic experience overlooking the stunning Lake Louis lake. We didn't stay at the hotel but we came for the Afternoon Tea session. I'm not known to be a "high tea" person but this place blew my expectation out the park. You have many tea choices and a pre-determined selection of finger snacks. All of it is fantastic. The view is fabulous as we overlooked the icy lake Louise. It made me feel like a princess for sure. TIP: this is by reservation only so highly recommend booking the earliest (12pm) slot possible AND arrive a bit earlier than call time so you can get a great spot by the windows!

Yelp
This was one of the hotel my husband and I stayed in during our honeymoon. Another recommendation from my parents since they've been here before and loved it. We decided to upgrade to Fairmont Gold since I knew this was going to be much better than the Fairmont in Banff Springs and I'm glad I did 'cause my husband loved the perks! Our favorite perk has got to be the free continental breakfast, light appetizers before dinner, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks . These were definitely things we always looked forward to everyday. Other perks include private concierge, lounge, complimentary newspaper and wake up calls to name a few. Honestly, I was excited for the private concierge 'cause I had a great experience over emails, shoutout to Joie Tan. She made sure our room was decorated and it was beautiful! She even printed a couple of our wedding pictures and framed it!!! It was beyond sweet! However, when we got to the hotel the private concierge sucked. The Asian guy in front wasn't very helpful, he kept telling us that we had to make some reservations on our own downstairs. The concierge downstairs were more helpful. We stayed at the Fairmont Gold Lakeview King which had such a mesmerizing view!! It was 10000% worth the money in my opinion. Another perk you get if you stay here is discounted canoe rides and priority! I think it's $90 for hotel guests and $120 (don't quote me on this!) for other folks. We didn't have to wait in line for a canoe! Although the hotel room was great, I wouldn't recommend the restaurants in the hotel which I'll explain in a separate review.

Yelp
Lake Louise is one of those places you see in magazines and travel websites, and is probably regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in North America by some. There are certainly more natural, untouched lakes (even Lake Moraine right next door), but the downside of having a Fairmont right on the lake is also its greatest perk. The Fairmont Lake Louise is obviously a very high-end hotel, so those that want to explore nature and come back to luxury will find this may be one of the greatest hotel locations in the world. The hotel's design is still firmly rooted in its classic roots, and doesn't quite have the same level of renovations as even the Fairmont Banff Springs an hour away. This is a part of the charm, however, since you are transported back to a simpler time where you are focused on relaxation and nature. Coming here during the winter is probably a bit less common, and you certainly have to be prepared for the weather. The Fairmont has some nice amenities like Afternoon Tea that make the cold much more bearable. Every year the Fairmont also sets up a small ice castle sculpture on the lake and maintains a fairly good sized skating rink. If you've never skated on a lake before (which I suspect many Americans have never done, like myself prior to visiting here), it's quite an experience. Skate rentals are fairly cheap at $30 CAD for a 24 hour rental, and for those staying at the hotel and wanting to pop in and out of the rink, this is a good deal. Walking across the lake (yes, actually on top of the frozen lake) is pretty magical and provides incredible views of the surrounding mountains. It's a great way to spend your morning before coming back to the hotel for the aforementioned tea. The Fairmont's isolation and connection with nature makes its visitors a captive audience, however. Though possible to drive or transit into the (very) small town of Lake Louise, you will likely not do so. This, unfortunately, means that you need to be prepared for very high costs. Food and drink routinely ran into several hundred dollars a day for a couple, though admittedly we were not being particularly price conscious. Breakfast was easily $80 CAD each morning unless you went to the coffee shop to get small pastries (but who really wants to do this at a Fairmont, unless you're getting it to-go?). For the price, I do wish the service & room were a tad higher end. Though the staff were friendly, the front desk did not provide a sufficient orientation and we had to go ask around to find which restaurants were open for breakfast and such. This is in contrast to the Fairmont Banff Springs, where the front desk provided a very thorough orientation on Christmas decorations that were still up after the New Year, restaurants, and more. Our room also had an issue with a lack of hot water in the shower, though maintenance was able to fix it on New Years Eve very quickly after we notified them. This is also not a place to come to get away from other people, unless you come during an off-peak time. The rooms seem fairly small and densely packed, meaning that it always felt relatively crowded in the few restaurants available. It feels like the peak guest capacity for the rooms is much higher than what the restaurants and common spaces can really comfortably support. I'm not disappointed with the hotel, staff, and certainly not the scenery, but you must expect that the unique setting and isolation from nearby towns and infrastructure will mean you pay for it. This high cost doesn't get you away from other people, but it's worth the price to have access to the beautiful scenery while still maintaining (very very close) proximity to a high-end hotel.

Yelp
Beautiful location with stunning views! Went with my fiancé Memorial Day weekend. We were lucky enough to get a reservation here on a packed weekend. We were seated right away and got the best view, facing the lake. We ordered some drinks: - salted caramel espresso martini (made with vodka, liquor 43, espresso, and homemade salted caramel). This was a 20/10, best martini I've ever tasted - chai tai (made with run, gin, chai spices, pineapple, angustura bitters, and lime) 6/10. Didn't have any chai taste so a little disappointing For food we ordered a salmon plate and a basil pesto pasta. Both tasted delicious! This was a great lunch outdoors in the heart of Lake Louise. The hotel itself is very big and beautiful!

Yelp
We stayed for our 6th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. The location is everything. The staff are very nice. The property has many amenities and our time was perfect. We rented ice skates, hiked to three frozen waterfalls, and walked the frozen over lake. In the evening we enjoyed time in the "Living Room" which is an area for guests only to enjoy board games and coffee. We also wandered around and explored the hall of photos to learn some History of Lake Louise. When we arrived they had an anniversary dish in our room waiting for us. Everything was so easy. The hall smelled of gingerbread. Everything was top notch. Breakfast was excellent and so were afternoon drinks at the Lounger. Only complaint is the dinners were pricey, limited, and not great. They could use better dinner options for the price that you pay.

Yelp
We came to Lake Louise to look at the beautiful lake, and hike to the teahouse. On our way to the teahouse and as we looked around the lake, we saw the Fairmont château lake Louise hotel. We also stopped by inside to pick up some snacks, use the restroom, and take pictures. Overall was a pretty hotel it was very busy though and lots of traffic since you have tourists who stay at the hotel and others who were just coming by. At the time they're doing some construction in the front, so that's just some note for July 2022. Overall was pretty nice, just that the buses in the front took very long, and in the summer heat it was a bit hot to wait over an hour for the bus back to the parking lot.

Yelp
Very special experience to stay here in the winter time. There are fewer guests and my family of 4 felt like we had the place to ourselves most of the time. We used all the amenities including ice skating, snow hiking around the whole Lake Louise (complimentary ice cleats) the indoor pool and hot tub with lockers, the Living Room with complimentary hot drinks and board games, the Guides Pantry with 24h grab and go food and yummy breakfast bakery and the Afternoon Tea at Fairview restaurant. I highly recommend to splurge here and get once in a lifetime experience. We stayed in a Jr suite going for about $600 per night in March 2023. It's comfortable for 4 people.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. Blown away by the presentation and execution of every dish. Gorgeous views of Lake Louise and the surrounding Rockies.

Yelp
The premier property right on the lake. It's gorgeous on the outside and inside. It definitely suits the surroundings. We stayed at at the end of the Rocky Mountaineer train ride to cap off a wonderful trip. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed comfortable. Service everywhere was top notch. There were several gift shops should you have a few extra loonies. On-site restaurants were nice but pricey. The breakfast place was a bit overpriced, I think. I did appreciate the shop in the center of the hotel where you can grab prepared foods. Helps a bit with the budget, especially with nothing else easily accessible outside the hotel. We enjoyed the outdoor live music one evening. With the amazing backdrop as her stage, the acoustic singer sang a good set. Overall, it's a luxurious hotel, especially if you can get a room with a view of the lake.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with Lake Louis view. However the reservation ran so fast even though we tried to book 3 months ahead

Yelp
It's a lovely hotel that is in part welcoming to masses of tourists that wander in while visiting Lake Louise. Tourists are welcome to dine in for breakfast and lunch, but must stay at the hotel if they wish to dine there. We were not staying at the hotel, but did have reservations at their sister property, so they extended the courtesy of allowing us to have dinner there. We arrived before dinner, parked at the hotel and then had a quick walk in the rain around Lake Louise.

Yelp
Perfect spot to visit Lake Louise in Banff! Both during the Winter and the Summer. I didn't personally stay here but I visited the area, they have a little cafe in the inside for food and drinks and to warm up. They also have an outdoor frozen bar to purchase drinks and enjoy while out there. There's an area to ice skate, they also have a sleigh ride, and you can walk on the frozen lake during the winter. I would also love to visit during the spring or summer to see the difference. Very professional workers and I think this is a great spot for a stay here at the Fairmont.

Yelp
Located right on the side of gorgeous, blue Lake Louise - this hotel has beautiful views of the lake, glaciers, and has access to the most popular hikes inside Banff. This hotel is beautiful, old world elegance at its best - with daily parking at $30 onsite in their garage - you can't beat it if you want to not have to get up at the crack of dawn to have access to the lake and fight for a spot in the nearby park lots or do the park and ride shuttle. Book your lunch or dinner well in advance and arrive early. You'll have to check in at the gate with the attendant who will verify your reservation and you'll be on your way. They have a ton of shopping and dining and this hotel is massive. I went into about 6 shops inside and we saw 5 restaurants with a quick service cafe on the back side entrance nearer to the lake. I was only a day explorer here and can see the appeal of staying on site to be close to Lake Louise and nearby Lake Morraine which you can book a $20 shuttle ride to with the hotel as a guest, but I can also see that you're paying tons of money to be here while there are so many people like myself who come and use the amenities as well, that you'll be standing in lines during tourist season and not have the exclusive experience you paid so much for.

Yelp
I'm so conflicted with this review because in some categories F.C.L.L deserves 4 or 5 stars and other categories it was close to a 2 or 3 stars. We stayed the week of Aug 7th-11th and had a Lake view room. Upon arriving at the hotel we easily found on site parking. I think it was $30 a day. Our room wasn't going to be ready until 3pm which we were aware of. The hotel bathrooms had lines of 10 plus people and only a few stalls. They didn't have toilet tissue and trash was everywhere. That continued the whole time we were there. They did give us a key to use for amenities. Every time we would use our key to open the side door hoards of people would follow us in. That was a little weird. We wanted to get ice cream at the little shop but there were lines of over 15 people. We ate at all of the on site restaurants and we got board with the same menu. I had two of the worst dinners I've had in a long time at the Lake View and Wallister Stube. The service and team were good and knowledgeable. The quality of the food was lacking. I had a salad with wilted and sour lettuce. One of the worst seared ahi tuna meals I've ever eaten. We got breakfast vouchers with our canoe rental one morning. We stood in line for 20 minutes for coffee. A dispute broke out about line cutting that was disturbing. Not what I would expect at a hotel of that caliber. Our room was fine. We did pay extra for a lake view. The view was stunning and we could crack our window open to get some air. It made up for the fact our air conditioner never worked. Luckily it never got too hot. The room decor was dated but it was ok. We paid over 1k a night for our room. It was our anniversary and never got even a little note or acknowledgment from the hotel. I guess most that stay there are celebrating something. They did have a nice workout room, indoor pool and whirl pool. It was sufficient. We did use the shuttle to Lake Moraine for a $20 fee. We booked with the conceige. We did hike both of the tea house hikes. We could look out the window and see the buses drop loads of people every morning so we were sure to start before the buses dropped off the groups. It was nice not having to worry about parking etc and enjoying the Lake after the tours left. I'm not sure I would stay here again. The total trip cost us $$$$$$ and we're not trust fund babies. We did have a nice time hiking, canoeing, white water rafting etc just the cost was high for the quality of the hotel restaurants and dealing with the tons of people , waits etc. We were more relaxed hiking than at the hotel.

Yelp
We came here early may and had a wonderful time. We had a room that overlooked the partly frozen lake (found out it thawed a week later... BUMMER!!) but we still had a great time hiking in the snow, the views and enjoying the restaurants on property. We will be back!!

Yelp
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the beautiful Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. We hope to make this a family trip for years to come. The staff were all so friendly. We chose to upgrade our experience to Gold, which meant hot breakfast daily, delicious canapes in the evenings, unlimited drinks and snacks, premier service, efficient check in and check out on the private floor, and being on the highest floors. The greatest gift of staying at this hotel is the convenience of visiting Lake Louise whenever you want. You take away the stresses that come with parking, timing when you can get to the lake, waiting for hoards of crowds to thin out, unpredictable mountain weather, and so much more. By being right there, whenever the weather was great, we could roll out of bed and walk straight into the beauty. Waking up for the mornings and staying out late in the evenings, all when crowds thin out, were super easy to do being right there. My husband and I saw the endless droves of shuttle buses, tour buses, and cars that bottlenecked up the path to this lake, and we never had to experience any of that. The hotel itself is on the older end. There's a certain charm and historic type of beauty to this, but don't expect the glitzy glamorous hotels of more modern big cities. The pool and gym are standard. Food is delicious. We enjoyed the fresh pastries offered with Gold. I can't count how many croissants I ate. Gold breakfasts were on point. Every day is different, but there were standard juices/smoothies, sausages, bacon, potatoes, and an omelet bar daily. My favorite breakfast included a Belgian waffle bar, complete with Canadian maple syrup. The evening canapes varied as well, but the chef was excited to present his share of imported French cheeses every night. My favorite was the triple creme brie from France. One night, there was an Indian themed canape night, with curry, pakoras, and samosas. We were so full from the breakfasts and canapes, we never even had to go out for a meal. Since this was a relax-cation for us, we spent 4 days and 3 nights relaxing here. But I could see 2-3 days as sufficient enough to explore the surrounding area, with other days spent elsewhere if you're going on a road trip to say Jasper National Park. While the nightly rates are definitely on the higher end, you are paying also for the convenience and beauty of being at Lake Louise. You will really appreciate this fact when you witness the masses who come all the way here just to visit the lake and who will also have to leave moments later.

Yelp
Spent my 32nd birthday here at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and it was so beautiful! Our view was perfect from the room. We also hiked around the entire lake around 530/6am and it was so refreshing. Doesn't get dark until after 10pm, so it's nice to sit out by the lake at night too. For what we paid, it was worth it! I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
If you wanted to ever feel like a princess, come here. This was amazing and the presentation was next level. I think I ate everything here and left nothing for anyone else. No one can stop me! (Except acid reflux) Price point is fair, but the service was worth it! Food aside, I would come back just for the pastries. 4.4/5

Yelp
Food is not bad and the view is great. It is a nice place to take it easy and enjoy the lake views while eating a nice meal.

Yelp
Great view, delicious food, professional staff. What's not to love? Shrimp lasagna, summer salad and blta were all hits. Had to some tea too to get my Canadian on.

Yelp
We made a reservation for afternoon tea. There is also a menu for vegetarian/ vegan and they were flexible with substituting items between this menu and the non-vegetarian/ vegan menu. Several tea options to choose from and each person gets a free pot of tea refill. Everything was wonderful. We loved the variety and didn't leave a single crumb. Service was great. If you're lucky, you get a table by the window with spectacular views. Several customers were more interested in getting their IG photo ops than their tasty scones, tea sandwiches, and desserts. This was very distracting but we focused on the tasty tower of deliciousness.

Yelp
We had afternoon tea at the restaurant, which included the usual sweet and savory concoctions available at such an offering. The teas were of the usual variety - from earl grey to oolong. Our group partook in earl grey, jasmine, and chai all which were judged to be very good, with the green tea found to be excellent. The scones were wonderful and the clotted cream very light and almost with a consistency of being whipped. All the savory offerings were tasty from the lamb to the lobster and caviar on toast. Of course the deserts were to die for, with the blueberry cheesecake and shortbread being the consensus favorite. It's not an inexpensive experience, but one quite worth it.

Yelp
Ok 5 stars for the view. Went here for lunch on a Friday after a hike, we were seated immediately. The service was good given how short staffed they were. Ordered the Chaitai cocktail which I really liked, also ordered their chowder (which was ok I expected more since it was highly recommended) but I enjoyed the beef au jus especially their waffle cut sweet potato fries!!!!

Yelp
Our stay and Chateau Lake Louis was absolutely amazing. The view from our room was incredible and we had a fantastic time. The bathroom and room were spacious and lake Louise is literally out the front door. There are excellent dining options throughout the room and a gym with a hot tub and steam room. The concierge was incredibly helpful with everything from making reservations to help planning our day. We rented canoes from the boathouse and we were able the skip the line because we were guests and we got a discount. I would absolutely stay here again. There are lots of hiking trails out the front door and endless things to do without going far.

Yelp
Mr. Gonnotio. I have just returned to the USA from Canada where I stayed at the Fairmont Hotel Lake Louise property for two nights. I reserved the Junior Suite Lakeview king breakfast package. The room number was 683. I had high expectations for my guest experience; however, the guest experience turned out to be well below par. Fairmont Hotel has the monopoly on this beautiful location and still manages to provide mediocre guest experiences. Photos speak louder than words so I have included them. The Fairmont Hotel Lake Louise AB Canada failures are as follows: 1. Paid a higher rate for the Fairmont Hotel Junior Suite lake view room specifically for the view. Upon entering room 683, it was disheartening to observe that the windows were so dirty that the view was distorted. (See pictures) 2. No mini bar. The mini bar fridge was unplugged. There were instructions on the mini bar indicating who to call at the Fairmont Hotel to have the mini bar stocked. Disappointingly, this was false information. Apparently, the mini bar option was not available - period! Their loss. We stocked up with a good assortment of liquor at the local liquor store 2 km away for the price of 2 drinks at the Fairmont Hotel. 3. No Fairmont Hotel room service - period! 4. The Fairmont Hotel room "air conditioner" (see picture and video) was affixed to the plexiglass window without caulking. Therefore, whenever the wind picked up, the wind would create a howling noise. We used towels as best as we could to block out the noise. At $1,500.00/night I expect better. 5. The booking indicated that the Fairmont Hotel breakfast could be enjoyed at any of the hotel restaurants - false. 6. At dinner and breakfast, I was informed by the servers that there were no coffee beans in the entire Fairmont Hotel for expresso. Amazingly, the servers managed to "scrounge up a few beans" when we displayed incredulous looks. 7. We gave our server a cash CA$20 tip at one of the dinner's and crossed out the tip area on our bill. We were still charged CA$20 for a tip bringing the tip total of CA$40 to the server. The Fairmont Hotel Lake Louise management were made aware of this but have ignored the information and our request for a photocopy of the bill that we signed. First time in Canada so the opportunity to create hotel brand loyalty for Fairmont Hotel Canada (Accor Live Limitless) is obviously lost. There is an extensive array of hotel choices world wide. Needless to say, I have no plans to give my business to another Fairmont Hotel (Accor Live Limitless) anywhere in the world in the future.

Yelp
A little dated but packed with charm, history, and a million dollar view of the lake & glaciers. The hotel staff were from other countries on some kind of program and they were amazing, very helpful. The restaurants, especially their breakfast bar, was worth the stay.

Yelp
The Fairmont is the perfect place to grab a lunch after strolling around the area. The windows frame the lake and mountains and you can admire the lush gardens of the Farimont as you dine. Our server was very accommodating, splitting up our dishes when we mentioned we were going to share the burger and lobster roll. Also, very reasonable prices for lunch (entrees under $20) and they have a beautiful cocktail bar. Extra star for the view alone!

Yelp
Fairytale setting with views directly over Lake Louise. Possibly one of the most dramatic views for a restaurant. The server was very friendly and nice and had her piece of information of the place to give. The food was pretty good but what struck me was the price was very very down to earth. Typical menu prices for entrees were in the 20s and 30s ( quite similar in pricing levels to a small family bistro and cheaper than places like Keg and Earls!

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel. So much to do on the property, I was never bored! They truly pay attention to details to make your experience great. Thankful for the indoor parking garage and perks like the Ice Bar. Fun experience overall. My only critical feedback would be how tiny the bathrooms are. If you're a larger person, be ready to squeeze in there. Shower pressure was great and beds were comfy otherwise. A really nice stay.

Yelp
If you ever get the chance to stay here... it's a MUST. This is one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed at in my entire life (and I stay in hotels 300 nights a year). Besides the fact that you literally get the wake up looking at Lake Louise (if you're lake side), the rooms are amazing. There are so many restaurants / bars on site, you can basically get anything you want. We were lucky enough to be lakeside and on the top floor with benefits and access to the breakfast. It was simply so good I stayed in there an hour after my partner left to keep eating. You are on Lake Louise, so you get to fight the crowds and parking. AND you are so close to Moraine Lake that we left very early in the morning and was able to park very close and avoid the bus tours there as well. The hotel rooms are amazing. Turn down service, robes, slippers. All toiletries are Le Labo. It was truly an experience. We only stayed a night but it was worth every single dollar. Do not pass this hotel up if you are coming to Banff!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and just so happens it is right by Lake Louise! We didn't stay here but came after our 4am moraine visit to eat before our hikes. There are quite a few restaurant options in the hotel. One downer was they put their hotel clients as priority if there's a wait list at some restaurants. We did find a nice buffet for breakfast and headed into our hikes. The highlight of this review is their teatime!!! Recommend making a reservation ahead of time. The staff was so accommodating as our hikes took longer than anticipated n we were running down the mountain late to our reservation. They welcomed us with open arms after we explained and everything came out timely. Everything on the teatime tiers were amazing!!! The lobster roll was superb and a favorite. There's a table buffet full of sweets after you finish your savory sandwiches and they were all amazing!! Not to Mention the window views were breathtaking. A little pricy but a must do.
