Afuri is a ramen restaurant highly recommended by many, and I personally found the food genuinely interesting. The portion size per bowl is quite large, and the ramen is served at just the right pace—neither too slow nor too fast—so you can enjoy it comfortably without feeling rushed. The flavors are well-balanced, and the menu has enough variety to make you want to come back and try different options.
The Yuzu Sake is absolutely delicious and highly recommended, though it may be a bit strong for those who aren’t used to drinking alcohol. If you like citrusy drinks, it’s a great match with ramen and helps refresh your palate between bites.
One star deducted for the service: the queue was very long even though there were still available seats inside the restaurant. The staff didn’t come out to manage the line or check on waiting customers, and we had to go in and ask ourselves before we were seated. It would greatly improve the experience if they clearly communicated expected waiting times or dining limits per table—for example, “you have X minutes left”—rather than letting people sit indefinitely while others wait 20–30 minutes outside.
Overall, the food was great, but the queue management system definitely needs improvement.
