This Ski Resort Has Epic Snow, Hot Springs, Lift Tickets for Under $100, and the Best Ramen on Earth

"A ramen staple from Tokyo, this spot brings its bright, modern aesthetic to Niseko with minimalist interiors and a lively energy that hums from morning to night on the ground floor of Setsu Niseko. The star of the show is the yuzu shio ramen—clear, citrusy broth paired with springy housemade noodles that are made for slurping." - Denny Lee Denny Lee Denny Lee is a seasoned editor, writer, and traveler. How to Plan the Perfect Ski Trip to Niseko United in Japan

"AFURI is a popular, laid-back restaurant known for its delicious bowls of ramen with handcrafted noodles made in-house. Located on the ground floor of the Setsu Niseko hotel, it offers a variety of flavor combinations, including vegan options. The restaurant is always crowded, drawing diners with its standout chewy, thick noodles that absorb the slightly spicy broth." - Alison Fox Alison Fox Alison Fox is a Travel + Leisure contributor. Love the service staff and the food. Great ramen on a chilly day, however, make sure that you arrive early as the place does get fairly crowded and packed. Homemade tofu (5/5) I love the clean taste of the tofu, and it’s refreshing on the palate. Something different if you’re looking for a change in taste Yuzu Shoyu (4.5/5) Really loved the clean taste of the broth and the noodles were well cooked. Felt that the food was well balanced with the tofu, and the Char Shu added alittle smokiness and ooomph to the meal. Service staffs were attentive and are great in English, so communication would be fairly straightforward.

Dropped by Afuri Ramen in Niseko and it did not disappoint. 🍜 The ramen is light yet deeply flavourful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 that signature yuzu touch adds a refreshing twist that makes the broth super addictive, especially after a cold Niseko day. Noodles were springy, ingredients fresh, and every slurp felt clean and comforting rather than heavy. Service was efficient and the place had a cozy, modern vibe ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻perfect for warming up post-ski. Simple, satisfying, and very yummy. Would happily come back again (and again).

10/10!!!! They really have nice food, ambiance and friendly staff. Most of them are speaking in English which was really good!! I sweaaaarrr GYOZAAAAA AND RAMEN WAS THE BEST!!! 💕😘 Your money will be really worth it. Would really recommend this place as well. 🥰 Also, look for Ms. Urara she told me she’s gonna be here until March during winter season. She is really nice and made our experience really memorable. 🙏🏻

We ordered 4 types of main dish: creamy tonyu tantan, tonkotsu shio, spicy yuzu mazesoba & yuzu shio. Overall, everything was pretty yummy. However the spicy flavoured items were in fact not that spicy (probably tailored to tourists tastebuds😅), still tasty nonetheless tho! Noodles texture was perfect. Side dishes wise, the karaage was gooooood and nothing too special about the gyoza. The yuzu highball tastes exactly like yuzu, very citrusy. Would recommend if you like sour stuff. Service was very good. The staff were very attentive and nice.

It took us about 15 minutes for the line up. While waiting staff has given us menu to look at with recommendation. I ordered the yuzu salt ramen and it was amazing!! My daughter finished her bowl as well while enjoying side dishes of gyoza, tofu and fried chicken. They also have excellent choice of cocktail. Really made my day after snowboarding.

Great ramen spot for a quick and satisfying meal. The ramen was flavourful and perfect for the cold weather, and the shop had a relaxed, comfortable vibe. The yuzu shio ramen was light yet rich in flavour, and the dumplings were also really good — definitely worth trying. Naoto took great care of us, and his recommendations were spot on. Would happily come back when I’m in the area.

The yuzu ramen and tori karaage is worth the wait! For the gyoza it would taste better if it is warmer. Overall, great experience and nice staff. Caution to those that are rushing for time, do try and reserve ahead of time! Cheers

Second time back to this Afuri outlet located in Hirafu area of the Niseko ski resorts. Tried the Yuzu Shoyu this time round along with sides: Karaage and gyoza. All good in their own rights but my fav was the karaage. Also tired their Yuzu highballs and Yuzu beer since Afuri is well-known for their yuzu spiked f&b items, didn’t disappoint!
