Food was great especially the soft shell crab and ramen . The broth was flavorful without being overwhelming, and the noodles had just the right chew. The restaurant itself was impressively clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The staff were genuinely polite and attentive, making sure we felt welcome from the moment we walked in. Huge kudos to the kitchen team for serving up such high-quality dishes—every detail was clearly crafted with care and pride. The toppings were generous, fresh, and artfully arranged—perfectly soft-boiled eggs, and crisp green onions. By the way, we forgot to took the picture of Takoyaki and the soft shell crab.

This is a fusion ramen, dumpling and donburi place. The combinations are really good. Hamachi don is innovative and excellent. Fresh tasty melt in your mouth fish on a bed of small grain koshihikari sushi rice in a savory almost XO sauce. Fried gyoza had a tasty Sriracha mayo with lots of green onions. Great attentive service.

POV: You came for the ramen, but stayed for the izakaya, drinks… and dessert 🍸🍡🍫 @afuriramen_vancouver isn’t just about the yuzu—this time we visited their Main Street location and went all out: 🥜 Hazelnut Tantan Ramen – creamy, nutty, and perfectly spiced 🍣 Kaisen Chirashi Don – fresh, colourful, and satisfying 🥚 Crispy Ramen Egg – jammy and golden 🔥 Salmon Tataki – lightly torched and so tender 🍖 Tsukune – juicy and glazed, no skewer needed 🌮 Salmon Poke Taco – crispy shell with fresh salmon 🍫 S’more Dessert – torched right at the table, melty and fun To sip: 🍵 Matcha Fizz – sparkling and earthy 🫐 Blueberry Mint Daiquiri – fruity, minty, and super refreshing

I ordered their dine out menu, which was $45 for dinner for a three course meal. The softshell crab bun and the vanilla ice cream with Yuzu and hazelnuts were the highlights for me on top of the excellent service. The limeade was also refreshing and the atmosphere of this restaurant is fantastic!

I hate to write bad reviews, but I had a bad experience here. Some of the dishes are terrible, mediocre at best and the service was 'ok'. Keep in mind that the restaurant was super slow on a rainy Thursday night. The Buta Gyoza arrived dark brown on one half and BURNT on the other. When we asked the server about it, she responded "I'll scrape it off for you". I've worked in a kitchen before and I understand that's the way they do it in the back BEFORE it is approved and sent out to the table??? So she returned with the Buta Gyoza, crispy parts missing on half... Which was kind of the point of ordering the Buta Gyoza? For the crispy parts??Unfortunately, I did not take a picture because I was shocked at the food and server's reaction. That aside, the taste of the burnt, crispy flake-less, freezer gyoza left much to be desired. The ramen we had (Yuzu Shio, Shoyu, Ratan) was disappointing. My friends found it too salty and the broth was bad, especially for $17-18. As for the my combo, I thought it was decent. The Fruit Shira-ae Salad was pretty good. Lettuce cores were found and the leafy greens weren't particularly fresh (rusting, but acceptable). I loved the generous portions of fresh fruits and nuts in the salad. The amount of dressing is perfect too. My Kara-Tsuyu was yummy and definitely worth the price to me. I liked the sauce for the noodles. Though the eggs were a little overcooked and I'm not a fan of the chinese menma (personal preference). The yuzu drink was nice, fizzy and refreshing :) I would not recommend this place unless you're here solely for their Tsukemen, fruit salad, or yuzu drink. I don't think I will be coming back.

Not good for vegetarians/ vegans. The only veggie ramen is the hazelnut one, which they said was sold out when we went on a Fri eve. The only other veggie main is a sushi roll (avo and cucumber), which costs 11$. I usually pay 5-6$ for that. It was average. If you're vegan The only other option is a bak choy starter, not remotely filling. The restaurant was also cold. Would not visit again

Not very busy on a Tuesday evening. Ordered the combo set with both tantan ramen options. Everything tasted very good including the yuzu limeade!

Absolutely lovely staff. Delicious, nuanced and rich broths. Beautiful eggs. Wonderful ramen. Lovely fried dumplings. Japanese vibes on Main and 12th, definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Stopped by this place early evening and were seated right away which was great since it can get really busy later in the day. I appreciated that they had a vegan version since most ramen places don't, and a unique fact about them is that they offer chicken broth bases (most ramen is pork based so great for those who don't eat pork!) The staff was very kind in walking us through the menu as one group member was having ramen for the first time so really appreciated having different items explained. They also had some other non-ramen appetizer options. I got the vegan ramen and my friends got the special ramen of the day. The ramen came out quickly and piping hot! It was good but not our favourite as it lacked some flavour. In a city filled with tons of ramen spots it's tough competition out there so I'd love to see some more flavourful options from them!

Yelp
Finally came to the main st location on their 3rd anniversary and had their anniversary special which was the Yuzu broth with ramen and chicken. I loved the yuzu broth, so unusual and a bit tangy. The 2 thick pieces of chicken were tender. It is a nice change from the typical cha Siu pork. The noodles were perfectly al dente. A couple of people in our party had buckwheat ramen with shiyo broth. They really liked the noodles but disappointed with the 2 smaller pieces of chicken that came with the buckwheat noodle. It'll be better if the chicken pieces were similar size as the other ramen dish. Service was good and the restaurant is nice and bright. I'll be back and try the other unique broths.

Yelp
If you are craving for ramen on perfect rainy day in Vancouver, this is the place to be. This place is tiny but has such a tasteful minimalist interior done that you can spend hours here. Perfect spot for couples or solo date night. I love their vegan ramen and pork ramen. They were super quick in service and the person who served us was so patient and welcoming. We were able to ask any questions we had about the menu. A side tip, order some of the seaweed on sides for your ramen and if you like it spicy, don't shy away from asking their chilli oil! It is amazing!

Yelp
2nd time in, for the anniversary special! Can't get ramen as cheap as $12 anywhere nowadays, so can't complain! Plus it tasted better than expected - we're big fans of the deep yuzu flavour, and the thin noodles were just perfectly al dente. Fantastic not-to-miss deal!

Yelp
The ramen was good, and I really liked their combo deal promo! Despite being a cozy spot, the tables here seem to clear out pretty quickly.

Yelp
Stopped by after work and it was busy. Luckily a table just finished up so we got seated fairly quickly. Inside looked like a standard ramen shop and had nice high ceilings. I ordered the tonkotsu shio ramen and it was very tasty. Broth was creamy but not too salty or heavy. Noodles were perfectly chewy, the wood ear mushrooms adding crunch, egg was gooey, and the chashu was deliciously soft. I had known this ramen restaurant was well known after seeing it a few times on social media and by word of mouth, but I never looked into what the restaurant was known for. Turns out it's their yuzu ramen which I didn't get! Need to come back and try that next time

Yelp
I came here with a friend for some ramen. I have heard so much about this place, and as usual, I am coming after all the hype has died down. And surprisingly this place surpassed my expectations. The coolest thing about the food they offer here is that they have Vegan Ramen. I don't know how that works, but it is a nut type of broth base with noodles. They have hazelnut and cashew as their types of nuts for their broth base. I had to try it because I wanted something new to try out. I ordered their Hazelnut Tantan, which is their hazelnut broth and their cashew miso soup to make it more flavourful. I was surprsied when I had my first sip of the soup. WOW! It was so flavourful and so delicious and very in depth of flavour as well. It was dark, and wholesome and extremely delicious. With this order, I love a good thick noodle which they came with, and on top of that, the soup was extremely warm. It was the perfect day for a cold, wet day. It seems like a place I would recommend to friends to come, and on top of that, I might come back to have another bowl of ramen one day~!

Yelp
Spicy gyoza and ramen were both good! We were sat quickly and service was great. I would eat here again

Yelp
I've been to the original location in Japan and loved it. I came here around 3pm and there were plenty of spaces available. Since this is consider happy hour, there were discounts on the appetizers. We ordered the karaage and the soft shell crab bun. Both were very good. The karrage is one of the best that I've tried and the soft shell crab had a very nice texture. You can even eat the crab shell surprisingly. For the main I opted for the yuzu shoyu. This is just how I remember when I went to Japan. The cha siu (pork) was also very delicious. There was a nice Smokey flavour. I wished I ordered more of it. Overall, I recommend this ramen spot. It's just as good as the one in Japan. Only cons is that I wish they sold the cup noodles. They sell them in Japan, but here it's just used as decor.

Yelp
Price/quality (4/4): I've been here a number of times and tried a bunch of different ramen offerings. Most feature yuzu citrus, which is their signature style. All were tasty and worth coming back for. Service (1/1): Service was reasonably effective, though I didn't go there during the busiest hours. Would I come here again: Yes

Yelp
The vibe is very nice and modern, they have a nice drink selection and bar area with all the alcoholic bottles on display, I'm sure the cocktails here are very good! I like their menu that has pictures of all the different types of ramen (noodle soup) or tsukemen (which are dry noodles but you dip them in a side bowl of soup) I would like to try the tsukemen next time -it's something I had in Japan and it was so good so I'm not sure if this would live up to that expectation but I'm glad they offer that here which I don't see often enough here in Vancouver I got yuzu shio and shoyu ramen the bowl and presentation is very on point it's nicely presented and the big wooden spoon is nice to use. If only I'd enjoyed the soup more, I thought I would like yuzu but it's quite tangy. The broth was very clear, noodle and eggs were perfect just the soup had to get some getting used to at first because it's not something I'd ever tried before I thought it was quite sour but eventually your taste buds get used to it but I'm not sure if I'd like yuzu broth again

Yelp
Been ages since my last visit to Afuri ramen + dumpling (in Richmond). Met up with a girlfriend on a Saturday night to try out their second location. We shared a fruit sake - peach momo, aichi ($32.00 for 300 ml). Tasted like peach juice! There's two gluten free ramen options. I went with the yuzu shio ($16.00) with gluten-free noodles ($4.00 extra). Noodles had a crunchy bite, which reminded me of konjac. Egg was solid and there was plenty of bamboo shoots. Chashu was tasty but a little too fatty for my tastebuds. Broth was light and refreshing. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Cute little ramen shop with some small tables, a group table, and bar seating. What differentiates them is the yuzu flavour they add to their ramen. I've been here a few times and tried a few dishes. I think the kakuni pork bun and the yuzu tsuyu are fantastic but everything else I've is only okay. Kakuni pork is yummy too! The broths are a little too salty for the soup ramens and the karaage are only average. Their gyōzas look like they'd be crispy but they weren't and the filling flavour was off but that could be a personal preference. When I ordered takeout, they forgot to include the yuzu seasoning with my yuzu tsuyu so that was a disappointing experience. :/ The service is really great for a ramen shop and the servers are all friendly. I'd recommend this restaurant for the yuzu tsuyu in the summer to fulfill your ramen craving without having to drink hot soup!

Yelp
Killer vegan hazelnut tantanmen, but lacklustre service that needs some work. We visited a few weeks after opening, and man do they have some stuff to figure out in the service department. I visited with my wife. We're both vegan, so we ordered (or tried to order) the miso cashew gyoza to start, which comes with vegan kimchi. But they were out of vegan kimchi, so they offered us non-vegan kimchi. Uh, no. We asked if they could substitute, for example, seaweed salad or more gyoza. The woman taking our order didn't know the answer, so she asked someone else, who apparently had to phone management to see if that was OK -- WTF?? Apparently, the answer was no, because the "meal doesn't go together"; "we don't mind"--to no avail. They could serve the dish at the same price without kimchi. That didn't work for us, so we canceled our order. How inflexible can you be? Management, you gotta sort this out. We each got the hazelnut tantanmen ($18, plus tax; vegan) for our mains, which we'd tried before at their Portland and Richmond locations. It was as sublime as remembered it. Rich, nutty broth, with toasted hazelnuts, bok choy, shiitakes, shredded leeks, and wonderfully cooked, firm noodles. One of the best vegan ramens available in the city. It is in the pricy side though, so the value is worse than many other places (e.g., Danbo, Gyo Para, Menya ITTO) but it is damn tasty and very good quality. Overall, top-notch vegan ramen, but the service needs some work.

Yelp
We went to this new Ramen place in our neighborhood (Mount Pleasant) last weekend during their soft opening. They have another location in Richmond which we have not been to. The restaurant was busy already which we thought was a good sign. The decor is utilitarian, clean and bright. We could tell the staff was new, but the overall service was good, no complaints. We ordered the soft-shelled crab bun, tonkotsu shio ramen, and wagu ramen. My partner complained that there was only 1 piece of Chaisai in her ramen. Most other ramen places have 2 or 3 pieces per order. I also got only 1 piece of wagu beef (for $24/bowl). The ramen were OK, nothing extra-ordinary, but the soft-shelled crab bun was nicely presented. We thought that was the best of the three items we ordered. Without alcohol, the bill came to $55 before tip. One final point, Butcher ramen in Chinatown remains our favourite Ramen place in town.

Yelp
We came here excited for the gluten free noodle option as my partner is GF. First off, they were out of those noodles - though I'd give them credit for offering a substitute with rice. It astonishes me that most ramen places don't have the option to just throw in a ball of rice noodles in there. But then things got worse as we waited a full 30 mins for our meals. The food seemed fresh, the server was attentive, but honestly, the ramen was super underwhelming to me. Bland broth, almost clear, the regular noddles were like soba, think and kind of hard, not really delicious. Very simple toppings, basic. Just ok!

Yelp
For food I started with the Shiitake Mushroom Wontons they were delicious one of my favourites of what I had for sure then had the Wing Buta Gyoza they were really good and perfect for sharing and for my main I had the Tonkatsu Shio Ramen it was yummy and flavourful the broth is so good! It was quiet when I went in so service was fast the staff were also very nice. The restaurant is small but there is quite a bit of seating, the decor is modern and clean looking. Will definitely visit again! - T.S

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this place after I unfortunately was not able to try when I went down to Portland about a year ago. I had heard it was a cool place to try and that their take on ramen was different than what I was familiar with. Their specialty that they promoted was a yuzu based ramen, which was a lighter broth and was more acidic and had more tang which I thought was good. I thoroughly enjoyed it though I will say it was definitely different than any other ramen I've had but definitely worth it!

Alice K.

Yelp
We loved Afuri's yuzu shio ramen in Japan and was so excited to find it in Vancouver. Unfortunately the flavor couldn't be replicated at this location. While the ramen was still tasty it was too salty and greasy for me and it was hard to taste any hints of yuzu. Dumplings were tasty but wish it were crispier as they came out a bit soggy.

Edward A.

Yelp
First of all - it was cold - had to keep my coat on. Secondly, the music was awful - not sure who it was but valley girl ick, loud and kind of inappropriate. Thirdly - communication was lacking with staff. Good tastes in the ramen. when we wanted to take some home it seemed confusing for the staff. When the chairs by bar move it sounds like a bull elephant. Anyhow - maybe this place can be good? The one young man who helped us with the bill and the chopsticks was lovely. the chasu was amazing. Our bill was pretty high. Normally good ramen can be like 12 or 13$. This was closer to 20$ also no tea offered? my dining partner wanted something hot to drink and it cost $4.50. Yikes.

Yelp
Went to Afuri with a few friends to get a snack. The food was good, the ramen was yummy. It just hit the spot.

Brian L.

Yelp
i had the yuzu ratan ramen, gyoza, and the limeade (combo). ramen broth was fine. nothing spectacular, A bit too greasy for me. There is a light yuzu flavour to it. pretty average and standard overall. Noodles were nicely cooked, nice texture. They are light on the toppings. The bowl is small. Gyoza are deep fried, not pan fried. pork filling was just salty. would not recommend this. limeade is as it sounds, nothing special. Parking is street only, with meters around there. Service was fine, nothing bad, but they were not attentive at all. Polite though. The venue was small, mostly bar spots or communal tables, with a few tables for pairs. Not entirely sure what the hype is about this place. For a dumpling place, their dumplings are disappointing. Ramen is just average, and overall value for the money is not amazing. Couple that with hit-and-miss street parking, and there is not a lot of motivation for me to come back when there are so many other good ramen places in town.

James W.

Yelp
Overpriced ramen place and has the worse value for money of all the Japanese ramen restaurants in town that I have tried. Only one piece of pork with too much fat and dripping in oil. The soup had no other flavor except a taste of cooking oil.

Elena K.

Yelp
I would personally say this place is in the top 3 Ramen restaurants in Vancouver. Very comparable to Ichiran Ramen in Hong Kong! Food was delicious, service was great, and great location and atmosphere. The server expressed she was relatively new however she was very kind and attentive! Will definitely come back and would recommend others to come here!

Yelp
Was pretty excited to go here after hearing about their happy hour from 2-5. When we got inside it was pretty bumping and we took a seat the bar. We ordered the Chashu Don (meat was a bit too fatty but flavour was ok), Karaage Don (chicken was the best part but wayyy too much mayo that the rice wasn't very edible), Winged Buta Gyoza (had no flavour really, and the skirt was not crispy), Tonkatsu Shio (broth was a bit cold and too rich), Ikageso Karaage (very tough and not crispy at all) and the Kakuni pork bun (the best one). Overall experience was okay, the staff was very friendly and helpful so at least thats a plus, but I don't think I will be returning.

Colleen K.

Yelp
Run from this place! Dreadful service! Dreadful pork dishes. The bao was just one big lump of fat! Yuk! The gyoza had sour tasting pork filling and no other flavours. Husbands ramen was way too salty.

Stuart J.

Yelp
They clearly forgot our order. We waited 40 minutes because they kept insisting it was coming. Finally they brought only one of our orders and it was wrong. Their excuse was because 'it was busy'. Very disappointed. Go to the place across the street instead.

Rachel Y.

Yelp
Broth is refreshing, chashu is one of the highlights too! One of my favourite ramen in Vancouver!
google avatar

Joey P.

Yelp
Food tasted authentic and delicious. Decent prices. I picked this place randomly and it did not disappoint.

L. V.

Yelp
FYI they no longer have the wagyu ramen. Decent ramen. Best part of the bowel was the pork chashu. Parking found 1 block away from restaurant.

Joyce N.

Yelp
I love that you can order ramen in kids portions. Ramen was great and their dumplings weren't too bad either. Ambiance was good and prices are reasonable.

Phong C.

Yelp
It's meh. Ordered the spicy yuzu ramen with chilli oil kaarage. The ramen was strange and lacked any substance beyond its lemony flavour. The kaarage was way over cooked and didn't have any juice or flavours coming out of it besides chill oil. The chashu portion was nice, but on the chewier side of things. On a side note, the yuzu ramen comes with arugula. Initially it isn't a problem until you leave any remnants of it in there for too long and the entire bowl of soup just taste like arugula afterwards.
