Agave & Rye Liberty

Servings were small for what you pay. The food was good. Service was slow. Took my family to this one after talking it up after visiting the Louisville location. I asked them what they thought post visit and consensus was “it was good but we are still hungry and the lady never came by to make sure we had drinks.”

I love Agave & Rye so I was excited to try this location as it was their original location. We were seated promptly (group of 9). Waitress was nice and was very respectful of our food allergy issue with one of our guests, but the service was just very slow. We saw her once every 20 minutes and it just wasn’t acceptable. Food though, as always, was phenomenal and I will always advocate to others to come try this place!

Probably my new favorite restaurant (no ciders though). Food was unique and delicious. Our bartender (ate at bar) was friendly and fun. Atmosphere was so cool, beautiful, but not so much it was distracting. Can't wait to go back! Got the bug thumper, hell yeah, and sugar daddy of the plain Jane. Dip was also delicious. Dirty queso, which my husband says is what he wants to eat if hes ever given a final meal. We ate most of it before pictures.

We sat near the outside windows on a day where it was snowing. It was frigid outside but their plastic shades were STURDY so we stayed very warm. The food was delicious, and by god the spicy salsa (ghost pepper) was HOT (we explore and enjoy many spicy foods). The drinks were delicious, strong and generous!

Our go to for girls night! The food, drinks & staff are always top notch. Can’t wait for our next girls night for some amazing food. Edited to add: Came back this weekend and they have added new items to their menu and everything was delish! Pimento cheese? Yes please! Our server Corinne was awesome, she made sure we were taken care of! Can’t wait for more girls nights!

Overall this was a great experience! The food was really good. Our tortilla chips were over salted and a few of our tacos were under seasoned. Overall the food was good. What makes this place great is good food and excellent service!! From the sweet hostess to our amazing server Corinne!! We told her we there celebrating and she brought us a special dessert! She really listened and made necessary accommodations when I shared with her my food restrictions. We will be back!!

Agave & Rye in Liberty Center is nothing short of a perfect date night spot. My husband and I had a blast having drinks at the bar. The drinks were delicious and the bartender, Joey, provided great service and perfect recommendations from the menu. Everything we ordered was a 10/10. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Went on taco Tuesday at lunch. Tacos were fantastic and unique and the 3 dips were delicious. I loved the pimento cheese and hubby loved the dirty queso.

Food and drinks were amazing like always, excellent service tonight as well. They had a great restaurant week special as well!

Been here twice now, pretty good tacos and are decently sized. Looking at the menu, I do like the different types of tacos available but I'm a picky eater so I just stuck with plain Jane. I did get the one with truffle Mac and cheese + lobster but had to stop on the lobster. It was a little too fishy for me but otherwise, great overall. Plenty of seating, indoors and outdoors. Service is decently fast too.

New Years Eve dinner with friends. We only had to wait about 15 min for a table for 6. This menu has so many great options! We all chose to do flights so we could each try 3 different flavors. I tried The Gangsta, The Filthy Fajita, and The Smokeshow. They were all good, but The Smokeshow was my favorite by far. Sooooo good! I also tried the corn fritters. They were good and the sauce had a little spicy kick. Next time I want to try the steak egg rolls. I tried the strawberry bombshell drink, also. It was good. I will be back for sure.

This place has quickly become one of my favorite spots! The vibe is fun and welcoming, and the food and drinks absolutely live up to the hype. The tator tots are a must-try--crispy, golden, and downright addictive. I paired them with the crispy chicken burrito, which was perfectly cooked with bold, flavorful fillings that left me wishing I had room for another though I could barely finish it. Their Luxe collection is such a creative touch--I love that you can take the taco experience to another level with these unique flavor combos (like kangaroo with Mac & cheese donuts or alligator). To top it all off, the Bourbon Peach Punch might just be my new favorite cocktail. It's refreshing, well-balanced, and has just the right kick. It's 1/2 off Tuesday and Wednesday. From start to finish, everything was on point--service, food, and drinks. If you're looking for a spot that blends creativity with quality, Agave & Rye is it.

Service was great! Art work was bright! The food was good! I'll bring people here for the experience! The drinks were good! Not everything belongs in a taco/hard taco, textures matter. The shrimp was yummy! Definitely recommend sharing!

The bad fees they add on and increased prices on top of them. Good for one time place but not a go to by anyone I know.

It's been a while since we have been here, we were looking for something different. My wife commented that she wished there was an option to build your own taco. She was able to have substitutes for her taco. Since it was Taco Tuesday, I was able to get tacos for a reduced price. The bees knees epic size and the bang bang epic size tacos were delicious. Our server, Sara was very attentive and helpful. My only complaint was the salsa. I don't like spicy or hot and the only alternative was queso. Even the mango pico was a little spicy, she said. I just ate chips. The restaurant was busy and the vibes were nice.

We always love going to Agave & Rye because of the amazing food and the cool ambiance and chose the Liberty location for my hubby's birthday. The service was great and we had a very sweet waitress but I didn't care too much about our table. We were seated on the 'patio/balcony' area that was inclosed with a removable wall to keep the cold air out. It was still super drafty despite the heaters on the ceiling and we could feel the very cold January air on your legs and feet. I was also surprised to see that the gratuity was already build in on our check. Yes we were a party of six but a family. The food was amazing but - I very much prefer the Hamilton location over this one simply because we always have such great experiences there.

Checked out Agave & Rye with my family and some friends on a recent Sunday night. I had not been here so was excited to check it out. It has a cool atmosphere but the service was just ok. My wife had a Jalapeño margarita that had no kick from the Jalapeño at all. The pick 3 sauces with chips were good but it is hard to mess that up. I thought the tacos were good but not great. I think that the tacos are way over the top and that is done to justify the price. Cool atmosphere and I probably will give them another try at some point in the future.

I always enjoy the food at Agave. They do a fantastic job keeping their menu new and fresh. The margaritas can be hit or miss for me depending on which is ordered. I am not a fan of super sweet and some are too sweet for my taste. The jalapeño pineapple is my go to if you like spicy with a hint of sweetness.

First time going there and I will definitely be going back!! Great food and great drinks!! And fantastic service

EPIC TACOS are truly epic!! A very generous portion of chips and queso were provided. Extremely tasty options. We got the epic tacos which are approximately 10$ per taco. Don't be fooled, they are heavy and substantial tacos, you could just eat one as a small person, or two for a heavy meal. I got the filthy fajita (with chicken) and it was very tasty despite it being very greasy and heavy. Is this authentic Mexican street tacos? Absolutely not. But for the food and portions and service all around, I think this place gets a thumbs up! Inside decor is amazing by the way, too bad we sat outside. The service was so speedy and quick, despite it being a super busy happy hour. Would recommend!

Wait stuff was very friendly and patient with our group of six. The food was excellent and drinks were good. And the atmosphere was relaxing.

Overhyped. I was expecting it to be better. They have a lot of taco selections but they are way too overstuffed and not enjoyable to eat. Mix of ingredients are hot and cold and spicy. Ambience was overstimulating. Drinks were very good though.

Delicious tacos! So different and each have their own story to tell! Learning about tequila! Bar tenders were amazing with types and explaining differences. I learned so much. Will take new knowledge and build my home bar with new varieties! Excellent service and great food!!​

It's been a while since I've been to Agave & Rye, but I remember really enjoying it. The portion sizes were generous, and the food was packed with flavor--you definitely get your money's worth. Of course, we came for the tacos, and they did not disappoint. Each one was loaded with bold flavors, and even the smaller-sized tacos were plenty filling--we got three each and were more than satisfied. The elote was solid, but I do wish it came with something on the side, like chips. As it is, you just get the corn by itself, which feels a little incomplete. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was great--good vibes all around. No real complaints from me. If you're looking for something different and want to try some specialty tacos, this spot is definitely worth a visit. With plenty of unique options to choose from, there's something for everyone.

We L O V E Agave & Rye! Absolutely fun place to have dinner the atmosphere is great! We came during lunch on Taco Tuesday so we enjoyed the happy hour! We both got the Bourbon Peach Punch and taco flight. We strongly considered ordering something different (not tacos) today but we just couldn't bring ourselves to do it lol This was our first time getting the flight, the portions were still perfect! They let me order a Taco Tuesday special (The Bees Knees) as part of my flight and my goodness I am so glad they did because it was delicious! My favorite though was the Grogu, sooooo flavorful and satisfying. And my all time favorite is the Crown Jewel. Our server was wonderful too--he may have been training someone but he checked in on us an appropriate amount of times and was very friendly and helpful!

My wife and I stopped in here while shopping at liberty center. We sat in the outside tent area which was warmer than the inside area. Loved it because it was a cold January day. We started with the queso nachos which were great. I always love fresh made nacho chips. For dinner my wife had the Skywalker and I had the Gangsta. My wife love hers and said the chicken was cooked perfectly. The Gangsta was also perfect to me had a perfect balance of flavors. We've been to othe locations and had great food but my wife and I agreed well be back for some more of our new favorites. Sorry I didn't take any pics. I didn't think I was going to post a review since I've already reviewed the location in Newport KY.

The service was great , the margarita was amazing and if you know about this organization you know the decor and design never fails. Liberty location has ample parking. I recommend it for cocktails. The wing week was a no! The wings were undercooked inside. Outside was crispy. However execution failed . I don't know that this was there best foot forward next year will hopefully be better.

Twice in one week-that's how good!! The mac n cheese doughnuts!! Dayum! The nacho chips are tremendously thick and crisp. Absolutely awesome twist on tacos and the flavors blend and work so good. We've never been disappointed with our meals and service here. Will always return.

Agave & Rye delivers bold flavors and seriously creative tacos! The Crown Jewel taco was the standout--lobster, mac & cheese, truffle, and shiitake mushrooms came together in one unforgettable bite. We also enjoyed The Alderman, The Rooster, and the Sticky Cauliflower Bites, which were a fun surprise. Sides like chips & queso, chips & guac, and mac & cheese were all solid, and the Jalapeño Pineapple Rita was a great drink choice. The food was hot and fresh, but the service was just okay. Refills were missed, requests took longer than expected, and while the staff was polite, they weren't very attentive--even with a slow crowd. Still, the food alone makes it worth a visit!

The food here is soooooo good! I love the taco flights. It's the absolute best way to try different tacos. The service was great. Frank was a very attentive server. The manager who greeted me was extremely friendly. I always get the swipe right, filthy fajitas and the happy pappy, but today I saw a couple of new ones that I'd like to try. The ambiance in this place is always chill. I love checking out the decor at the different locations because it's always so different and unique.

Very creative and crazy looking tacos. So many options. The ones I got looked better than they tasted lol. My and my gfs first time and we've been wanting to check out agave and rye, or atleast I have since she's not much of a taco person. But my plan was to change that. We got in on Taco Tuesday, came with some friends. Lots of deals on apps and tacos. Server suggested 3 apps for 15 dollars, so I got guac, queso chorizo, and salsa verde. Not bad, guac and queso combo was good, but to be honest chips tasted pretty hard and the three apps weren't anything crazy. Solid tho. Friends got the corn fritters and they swore they were to die for, especially the sauce. They came out hot and to be honest, we're pretty good. Similar to a hush puppy but a lot crispier and gooier. Taco time! I got the alderman (friends go to, he got 2) the rooster (mac n cheese and fried chicken) the smash burger and the gangsta (Birria rice chipotle crema) The alderman was my favorite, simple flavor but complex at the same time, little messy tho. The rooster was good with the chicken, and Mac n cheese but the chicken was a little small so half the taco was just shell and Mac n cheese, which was meh. Next is the smash burger taco, to the left of epic tacos, sounded like a crazy concept similar to the rooster so I went all out. This one was super weird lol, wasn't a fan. They made it look great, but you go in expecting a burger but without a crispy bun, just tasted wrong haha, too much sauce not enough meat. But worth a try. Last was the gangsta, birria sounded good so I got it without queso since half the tacos are loaded with it and I had enough of it earlier. Not a fan of tanjin lime, it says it on the menu, but still didn't like it. Meat was good, little dry, rest of the toppings were meh. Overall, the atmosphere is awesome, so much going on and the architecture and art inside makes you feel like your at a fancy restaurant. Service was fast and attentive. Prices on taco Tuesday are very reasonable. The Tacos are really big! Lots of options. The ones I had were alright, but would want to come back and try different stuff! Gf - not a fan of tacos, but I ate this one! I got the alderman, just cheese and steak, and a side of fries. The taco was good but so big I almost couldn't finish it. I liked the 3 different mix of fries.

Watch out! Don't order a double. One double Woodford and diet was $30. One 1800 tequila and soda water was $26. Sorry Agave, that's just ridiculous.

My wife and I dined at the bar the other night. Our bartender, Joey, was awesome! He was very hospitable, and made a hell of a drink. We never had to wait on him, and he made the evening a lot of fun for the both of us. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for good Mexican food and a great server.

Waited over 20 minutes just to get acknowledged while employees were actively walking around, but they were just ignoring me as I literally made eye contact with them hah. I didn't have time to get a drink like I wanted to at this point so I just asked for my food. There was over an hour left of the place being open still. After that I just hoped the food would at least be good, not the case as I found hair in my food. Absolute comedy.

Tacos are so difficult to have when you have dietary restrictions because cheese and flour really do a taco make, but the vegan option with flour tortillas made me feel like I was eating the real thing. Gooey, ooey and oh so yummy, definitely worth a try.

Food and service great every time. Sad they took the cauliflower appetizer of menu. Sooo good.

I had walked by here many times, but never knew what was inside. The boss took us to lunch, and pointed to this place as a Mexican restaurant. My boss had the chicken taco, and my colleague had the pork toco. I had a pork burrito. The food was very filling, and tasted delicious. I had never thought about eating here, because I didn't know what was inside, but now I know. We arrived on time. Coming at 11:30, we beat the lunch rush. At noon, most of the tables were taken. We returned by 1.I like this place. It is not a date place for my wife. There are no low calorie items. The pictures of Biggy, Snoop Dog, and others make it interesting.

Good margaritas! Great atmosphere. And I absolutely love the shirts they have. The food is good. Not authentic at all but a new age Mexican food. Macaroni in burritos and tacos definitely lots of vegetarian options For those that follow that diet.

I cannot recommend. My girlfriend and I wanted a little something to eat after seeing a show at Funny Bone. We arrived at around 9:30-9:35 pm on a Friday. When we went in, the place looked pretty colorful and nice and there were plenty of seats. There probably were 4 or 5 staff. One person said we can sit at the bar. We didn't want to sit at the bar. There were too many people at the bar plus there were not two seats available where we could sit together. Most restaurants ask you how many are in your party and if you want to sit at a booth or table. They don't tell you to go to the bar. There was no shortage of tables and they were not busy. Very disappointed. I've heard the food here is good but that type of service is unacceptable. We turned around and left. It was my birthday too so doubly disappointed. Not recommended.

Great restaurant. We don't get here much when it's cold out since the walk from the parking lot is pretty far. Usually busy. Nice in the summer when you can sit outside.

This is the place to come to if you are looking for clever tacos. They have lots of interesting combinations and flavors available. We weren't looking to be too clever, so got a more basic chicken taco and a steak taco (called the Alderman). We also ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer. They were not horrible. All were slightly sweet. The Brussels had a sauce drizzled that was almost like icing - again, not bad but the sweetness all around was just a bit much. The chicken itself was quite good, but the steak was chewy and only slightly warm. Chips were good, served with a very chunky salas. Server was pleasant but seemed very busy. Took a minute to get the check. I think this is a place you go to more for the atmosphere. It was festive and attractive inside, bustling with people. Lots of margaritas on the menu though we did not imbibe. Probably a nice place to meet friends or have happy hours.

Great drinks and food! Beware though, that street corn is surprisingly spicy ! We stopped here for a bite before a comedy show and ordered wayyyy too much food. We had no idea the size of these tacos! Great variety to choose from along with the classics.

This was my first time checking out the Liberty Center location for Agave & Rye, and it did not disappoint (per usual)! My friend and I stopped in for dinner and a drink during the week. When we arrived, the hosts were friendly and very chatty. We were seated right away since it was a Monday, but I could see it being busier on the weekends. This location definitely had a different vibe than the Rookwood one, but still the same fun decor on the walls and comfy booths. I ordered a classic margarita to start. Great as always, and I always like the skull glass that it comes in. For an appetizer, we split the mac 'n cheese beignets! I was pleasantly surprised by these, as I did not expect to enjoy mac 'n cheese inside a donut-like pastry as much as I did. Agave & Rye also has great mac 'n cheese, despite their main thing being tacos. For my main entree, I got The Swipe Right taco and The Bomb taco. The Bomb taco is SO good, but be prepared to use a fork to eat it! I also loved my Swipe Right taco as well, with the sweet and spicy bacon added to it. 10/10 from me for both of those. The tacos are STUFFED so make sure you come hungry. Our server was awesome. Checked in on us frequently and brought our food over to us in record-breaking time. I'll definitely come back to this location the next time I'm at the Liberty Center!

Fantastic food, always good service. Pricer than normal taco places but also upscale for tacos, and respectful portions. We enjoy trying new things here because the flavor profiles are surprising well. Atmosphere is very much a vibe.

Came here for our anniversary and was quite impressed. "The Bomb" taco was amazing and the "Love Shack" was not far behind. Our Waitress was phenomenal and the Manager bought us two dessert tacos for our anniversary and Man were they delicious! We will definitely be going back and taking guests with us!

Very welcoming! They even gave us a free carrot cake because it was our homecoming dinner. Sky was extremely helpful and efficient. Would highly recommend.

Awesome food and location. Dora means seating out in street and walk around drinks so a great stop for a meal along with a show at the lawn at Liberty. 2 taco's was way more than enough for a meal. 4 of us had 8 different ones and all awesome. Ask for Todd he'll take great care of you!!

The place just screams "fun". From the one of a kind ambiance to the food variations and twists on tacos...it's amazing that a taco experience can even be that, an experience. We love Agave and Rye and always enjoy our food. Prompt service and friendly staff.

Food was consistent from Agave and Rye in Lexington- which is to say, delicious! Was able to eat gluten and dairy free. My favorite was the Alderman, the meat and corn on this makes my mouth water thinking back on it. We accidentally went on Cinco de Mayo so it was pretty busy, which made service a little slower perhaps. Dress is a range from casual to a night out. Love the cool art everywhere. Outdoor seating looks nice and I'm told bar seating is fun here.
