Recently,I visited the small Agnes Etherington Art Centre on the campus of Queen's University.I spent approximately 2 hours enjoying its works of Art.I appreciated fine Old Master paintings by Rembrandt("Man With Arms Akimbo","Portrait of Old Man"),Gerrit Willem Horst, and Aert de Gelder("Artist's Studio").Most of their Old Master paintings from the Bader Collection were not on display, including paintings by Govaert Flinck,Ferdinand Bol,and Isaac de Joudreville.I enjoyed fine paintings by these Canadian painters;William Sawyer("Self Portrait"),Goodridge Roberts,Prudence Heward("Barn in Brockville")and Bill Roff. However, their paintings by Alexander Jackson,Arthur Lismer, and Lawren Harris were not on display. This art museum currently has a large temporary display of "Canadian Log Cabin "Quilts. As for African Art it has a fine variety of ivory creations from Nigeria(Igbo Elephant Headress),the Congo, and Sierra Leone. The curatorial work in this art museum is very good, but I wish more works of Art were on display.
