The reason I am not giving 1 star for this experience because it’s probably my fault that I am so disappointed. Someone recommended the restaurant and we came without checking. We expected some hearty, home made Sicilian lunch. However I was more than disappointed with the selection. We chose pulled pork. For the price, I think it’s a huge disappointment. We got a little amount of pulled pork and 6-7 small pieces of boiled potato with two little sad slices of zuccini. It was cold as well, so I asked for reheating which the lady did of course, she was really nice. However, I dont think it tasted fresh or homemade at all. I would expect to have some nice fresh salad or herbs with the dishes. The service was kind and the atmosphere is cool as well. Probably this restaurant is not for us at all. However, the portion and the presentation should be improved a lot.

What a lovely little place with fresh food and good value for money. The menu on chalkboard is all in Italian but the kind owner explains it in English well. I had as a starter an absolutely lovely gratinated pumpkin with a few slides of fresh brown bread, sprinkled with herbs and olive oil, on the side. My main was the lentils: simple and tasty 🤤 and also a good portion size. I was very tempted by the orange cake I saw another patron had and wish I would have taken it! Also the manager offered some vegan, 🥑, hard biscuits for takeaway: some complex citrus flavour that was delightful! I would absolutely go back here. It’s off the beaten path and the menu is impressive! Plus they accept card.

So good we had to visit twice. And literally just before our bus to Palermo. Agricolab stands apart from the fact that they source for the recipes based on the produce they get - working closely with local farmers for the freshest possible almost farm-to-table ingredients. Having traveled from Rome to Naples to Catania - this stop, coupled with their amazing natural wine selection and warm hospitality, convinced us that one lunch is not enough to try the myriad of seasonal specials that will surprise you.

The food we were served tonight was both exquisite and amazingly delicious, and we could see how much thought and effort went into creating the dishes. Some of the terms used on the cuisine were innovative, inventive, and our mother compared it to Noma in Denmark, where the food is just so special it’s hard to describe. Thank you for the eye opening, gastronomic experience. I’ve never enjoyed vegetables so much, and really love the stories behind your dishes - forgotten wild vegetables and ancient grains, creating dishes inspired by the local produce you come across. Simply amazing! We have eaten at so many restaurants, and few have wowed us like yours has - whilst so creative and inventive, it’s still approachable and yet is fine dining in its own down to earth way. The crowds tonight were an indication of it. Service is warm and friendly, and prices are very reasonable too! Love that even their ladies fingers sponges in the tiramisu are made by them using ancient grains. This is definitely a must try when in Catania!

Among all the delicious Sicilian foods I had, this was absolutely the worst meal and we're so sad to have wasted money and time here. First, the appetizer potatoes were only spicy and didn't taste anything good. One pasta was too salty and besides it tasted just ordinary, and another pasta tasted literally nothing. I couldn't finish it if I wasn't hungry. Since the owner and atmosphere were nice, I really hope we just had a bad luck on this day.

The best place for lunch in Catania. We had trouble finding hip, non-touristic places of high quality and were so happy to run into Agricolab (we went here twice). The owner, Giuseppe, gave us a warm welcome and suggested the best wines to our liking. The dishes are fresh and made with surprising combinations. And last but not least, the entire place is completely plastic free and also sells locally sourced products.

Amazing little restaurant! The customer service we got was superb! Massimiliano was great, he translated the menu to us. The food was really tasty with local ingredients. If you like cheese, try out their cheese platter! Agricolab is also very vegetarian friendly. Highly recommended! It's Italian restaurant with tasty and healthy ecological and local ingredients. #healthy #vegetarian #delicious
