Agriturismo Al-Marnich - Lago di Como

We had a wonderful Easter lunch here with our friends from Australia. The restaurant is beautifully set out and is in the most picturesque setting. Even when the rain is pouring down, its is a superb spot. Our waitress was charming and kind. We had the set menu for Easter and chose very well from the options available. We really enjoyed the antipasti which was a mix of cheese, ham and a delicious warm cheese and vegetable fritter. For our primi we went for the rabbit ragu and the sausage and rice timbale. We were not disappointed. Both the primi were truly delicious. The main course of meatballs was enjoyed by everyone. By the time dessert came, we were all full up but managed to eat our ricotta tart and vanilla cream desserts. An authentic and delicious experience! thank you. We will be back (especially now that we are locals!)

The view from the mountain was amazing. It is very peaceful and I had not slept so well in a long time! |The room and restaurant area are very authentic with a fire place creating a warm atmosphere.|We had dinner and breakfast there with very good and tasty cuisine.|The service was professional too.|It is worth getting up the mountain!

Thé only draw back was the size of the "superior" room. There was almost no space to move around the bed ... the bed could have been smaller. Besides, everything was fine. Excellent breakfast and a very warm and friendly service . As for the restaurant, good food and very good products.

The location, on a mountain 9 km on a hilly road narrow is away from the crowds. Deer walk by, there are sheep goat hens on the property and great views. The room #15 was the furthest from the main property. It was comfortable and quaint with wood beams and stone walls.

Everything is ok but THE FACE OF ALINA absolutely unfriendly. Opening the door upon arrival, she went into the house without a smile and began a very dry conversation with us. The second day, serving in a restaurant, the same thing. On the contrary, the women from Moldova turned out to be very polite.

We visited only the restaurant, we didn’t stay at the rooms. Very cozy place with friendly people. Also vegan options and vegan dessert! But it’s better to call one day before if you are vegan to make sure. I recommend it

We had a lovely stay & delicious dinner at this STUNNING location. Staff & owner were very friendly and gave us information and history of the area while we enjoyed a fresh meal.

Great place to stay, the room was clean and tidy. The hosts are very warm and nice people. Food service was great, based on locally sourced products, some of which they make themselves. It's like a natural oasis in between the wilderness. Would have wanted to stay more, but we were on a schedule. The drive to the facility might be a little tricky for the faint hearted, especially after sunset, but it is definitely worth it. Must see! Don't have enough words to describe it

Super place. The people managing it are very nice, top service. Food is awesome. You stay in little houses with 2-3 flats each. Wonderful view. Very quit. A bit up the lake, when it is hot on lake level, it is nice up there. Price level is good, for this service cheap. We have stayed here only one night on our way southbound. I regret that, should have stayed longer. I highly recommend this place. Very good with kits.

I really really wanted to like this place. I gave it 3 stars mainly because of the awesome views and the fact that our kids had fun running around after the dogs. After that, my review, sadly, goes downhill. The room was small, outdated ("rustic charm" only goes so far...), no screens on windows, no a/c (it was hot as he!!). The food, while fresh and local, honestly didn't taste that great, and the service at dinner-- twice-- was sooo slow. It appeared to be a family-run business, and they clearly were overwhelmed, at all stages of the business. We were only one of many other guests (perhaps 25 cars in the lot), and the poor foursome running this place, while friendly, were out of their league.
