Agriturismo Montiferru

Cannot be faulted Warning – access is only by a dirt track which is C2 .6 KM Long, we were in a camper and we were okay but it’s a pretty bumpy road.. We arrived and my wife thought we had arrived at a wedding, small queue for wine and canapés in the garden, This reminds me of some of the best Agriturisos in Liguria and Emiglia Romagna.. A dozen or so Antipasti - all delicious, served quickly and homemade of course.. Service was swift and friendly, no English or French spoken anywhere it seemed.. Mainly Italian clients, with a few Germans and a Couple of Brits.. I didn’t like the goat cheese not their fault and the smoked cheeses were much too strong for our palettes.. Primi x 2 one ravioli in tomato sauce, the other a delicious Sardinian pasta in a local pesto Secondi x 2 milk fed/roasted porceletta then a tender wild boar, in a mild ragu, not too rich.. it coninued with a lightly fried cheese ravioli with orange flower sauce, meringue, cheese tart, fruit, coffee, choice of locally made liquor.. White and red wine were both good and there appeared to be unlimited supplies.. And unforgettable afternoon out, we arrived at 13h and left at 16.30h All for 50€ per head, definitely no tipping..

Disappointing. Unfortunately not as good as it used to be. This was My third visit to what used to be in my view the best agriturismo in Sardegna. The first two trips were excellent, with large variety of quality dishes produced with quality local ingredients, all this in beautiful surrounding. Friendly family run business. I took my family for lunch there today (party of 14 including 2 childrens). The food was still of good quality but the service was just terrible. I preordered a fish as main dish for my wife (as I did the previous 2 times) and again mention it when I arrived but nothing was done. Instead the same vegetarian dish as the started was offered. The waitress was very unfriendly, incompetent and completely clueless about all the dishes that were served. Variety of dishes not good as before, quantity not as generous. Dishes half full removed from table without asking. The boss generally friendly and chatty was nowhere to be seen when asked about missing fish. Overall still good quality food but the place obviously lost his charm and appeal as it became more popular and more arrogant. Desapointing.

was closed on a Wednesday. Best check ahead by ringing. We called from the closed gate, and were told only Friday and Saturday would they serve food. Also be prepared for a dirt road on the last 1.5k with various pot holes depending on the weather. Pretty driving through but depending on your car you may find it simple or challenging. Cannot comment on the food as it was closed, wanted to make you aware so you can plan ahead.

A wonderful place. We were treated like one of the family. We could not fault the service, wine and delicious food. An experience we will not forget. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience true Sardinian hospitality.

Siamo andati domenica scorsa e abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Tutto inizia con una bella accoglienza con l'offerta di un aperitivo alcolico o analcolico a scelta e con degli assaggi. L'ambiente è accogliente, luminoso e ampio. Abbiamo manguato una bella varietà di antipasti tra salumi e formaggi serviti con le marmellate di accompagnamento, il formaggio spalmabile sardo, saporito, verdure grigliate o in frittelle o sformate, favette e pancetta. I primi spettacolari, tra fregula con funghi, ottima e delicata al palato: impossibile non servirsi due volte! E ravioli di patate e casizzolu conditi con un sugo buonissimo, che personalmente parlando mi ha ricordato la cucina di un tempo, i sapori dei sughi della nonna e delle zie e per questo mi sono stati ancora più graditi: un boccone era un ricordo riportato alla memoria e per questo mi è risultato ancora più piacevole. Agriturismo completamente immerso nella natura incontaminata del Montiferru. Bellissimo cortile, curato in ogni dettaglio. Presenza di ampi spazi esterni e area gioco per bambini. Due sale interne arredate con cura. Due caminetti grandi. Aperitivo di benvenuto. Servizio rapido con antipasti, vasta scelta, a seguire 2 primi, 2 secondi, contorni, macedonia di frutta, dolci tipici e seadas, caffè e digestivo. Personale cordiale e disponibile.

Location molto bella. Personale gentile. Cibo molto buono e quantità perfetta se sei un mangione come me 😅. In questo agriturismo c si va per rilassarsi mangiando tranquillamente senza fretta. Noi c siamo trovati benissimo.

It's a long drive from Olbio or Alghero to this agriturismo restaurant, and it's only open on Sundays with one seating at 1 pm. But worth it. Be aware the last 3 km on the road is very difficult, rutted, and slow going so time your visit accordingly. You do need reservations, but we never heard back from the establishment so we decided to take a chance. They were kind enough to seat us. This is one of the 2 best agriturismo meals we've ever had in Italy (the other one in Crotone.) Gorgeous simple food, Mom's home cooking in the best possible way. A huge assortment of antipasti, followed by 2 pastas, then some verdure, 2 meat courses (a roast suckling pig and braised lamb with bay leaf) 3 desserts, and 4 digestivi. The wild mushroom pasta was sublime....wide tagliatelle with the pure essence of wild mushrooms, when the dish was set on the table the entire area was heavily scented. The ricotta ravioli were plump and light as air, as was the fresh tomato sauce. 35E a person, and the meal went on for 4 hours. Even the wine, homemade, thick red and unfiltered was fantastic, the perfect accompaniment to the rustic food and breads. Service was great, and the owners came out and chatted with us in Italian at length.
