"Agroturizam Tončić If you want to check out a real-deal agritourism operation (a family-run working farm), Tončić is the top choice. Located in a hilly hamlet in Istria’s bucolic interior, the farm not only has panoramic views of Čićarija mountain and the Mirna river valley, but also serves up succulent lamb and potatoes, roasted under peka (a traditional, dome-shaped baking lid). While most people come for the lamb, you should also try the handcrafted pastas, Istrian prosciutto, and dishes featuring game meat, truffles, and wild asparagus. The terrace is a lovely spot to linger over a meal, but should the weather not cooperate, the rustic interior with a fireplace is equally cozy. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time."

From the very first moment we entered Tončić’s house, we were greeted by an aroma that promised a dream lunch. Such a professional yet genuinely warm approach — true hospitality. You simply can’t go wrong with a family-run place like this. The whole family works together, preparing top-quality food. 10 out of 10! It will remain in my memory as one of the most enjoyable and heartwarming lunches I’ve had in Istria. Much respect!

Absolutely blown away by this hidden gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, thanks to the incredibly friendly and welcoming owner who truly sets the vibe. There’s no menu—just ask, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the options. The food was outstanding, full of flavor, and very reasonably priced. Felt more like visiting a friend’s home than a restaurant. We’ll 100% be back. Easily a 10/10 experience!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Agroturizam Tončić is pure Istrian magic. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends. There is no printed menu here, just the owner warmly telling you what is fresh and in season, straight from their own fields and kitchen. Every dish was bursting with flavour, from the cured meats to the truffle-topped pasta and hearty lamb. Authentic, relaxed, and full of heart. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit.

Toncic is truly special. It’s a family-run Croatian restaurant where they grow all their own food, and you can really taste the care that goes into every dish. The menu depends on the season, which makes the experience feel authentic and unique each time. On top of that, the family who runs it are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They’re not always open, but if you get the chance to go, it’s absolutely worth it. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could — highly recommended.

All the cured meats are very special, I loved the cheese ravioli with truffles and the lamb is unique (tasty and tender). The waitress friendly and pleasant. The chef Oriana (hope to remember her name correctly) cook them own local ingredients, with traditional recipes, masterfully 😋 Even the cabbage 🥬 remind me my grandma recipe cooked on the wood-fired stove.
