Aguas Arriba Lodge

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in Patagonia with Aguas Arriba as our last stop. In many ways, we had saved the best for last. The lodge is beautiful and Patricia and staff took exceptional care of us. The meals were delicious (and they even made allowances for my not eating fish or mushrooms). Diego was a fantastic guide who took us on many hikes. His knowledge and story telling made them special. AND, we enjoyed meeting and sharing time with others enjoying their vacations. Thank you!!!

We will remember our stay at Aquas Aribas forever! This is a very special place with very special owners (Pato and Ivor) and their amazing staff. We loved how remote the lodge is - getting there after 1.5 hrs on a dirt road and then being picked up by boat. We were welcomed like family into their home. The lodge is beautiful with amazing food. Only 8 other guests and we had great fun with them. The guides and other staff are so well recruited and trained. We took incredible hikes to waterfalls and glaciers and learned so much about the environment. We also did yoga and fly fishing. Thank you to everyone there. We loved it!

Aguas Arriba Lodge is magical.   It feels like home and a very special place all rolled into one.  The owners are so interesting and engaged. The staff is warm and friendly and very accommodating. You are surrounded by nature and the guides accompany you on your chosen hike(s) for the day.  The other guests were world travelers - when we were there some from UK, US,  Argentina and Chile and they were fun to chat with.  And don't forget the evening tango  lessons.  Meals were surprisingly good and honestly much better than the subsequent stay at a Relais & Chateau in Patagonia. Of all the places we visited in Patagonia, this is the one we remember so fondly and  we would return to.

What a special place. My wife and I stayed here for three nights during our honeymoon in February 2025. It was the highlight of our two weeks in the area. The hospitality was incredible. The entire staff made us feel at home. The owners, Ivor and Pato, care so much about tailoring the experience to each and every guest. Everyone at the lodge went above and beyond in making the guests feel comfortable. The food was amazing. The hikes in the area were stunning, and most of them were on private land. Our hiking guides were a lot of fun. We had two fantastic yoga sessions in the evening before dinner. The whole experience was first class. As we were leaving, Ivor and Pato were waiting for us on the dock to give us a big hug before getting on the boat. We loved it here, and you will too. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you will never want to leave.

We stayed at the lodge in February 2025 with two friends as part of a month long holiday in Uruguay, Argentina and Chile. Afterwards we all agreed this was the highlight of our wonderful trip. The owners, Pato and Ivor, were there to greet us on arrival at the jetty and wave a sad farewell when we left. The location is stunning, with the lodge situated on the shores of the lake with a glacier opposite. All the staff were excellent, knowing all our names from the outset and doing everything they could for us during our stay. The food is very good - everything is home made and local where possible. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with every amenity, given the difficulties of being in a remote location. There were three guides assigned to the five rooms and every day they discussed our hiking, fishing or relaxing options with us, taking us on many beautiful and varied hikes. A special mention to the multi-talented Diego who, after a long day trekking, held yoga classes in the early evening and even taught us the tango one night. It was a wonderful and memorable stay.

Amazing lodge with wonderful owners, Ivor & Pato plus an incredible crew. Service was excellent. A Remote, private lodge in the most beautiful place in Patagonia. We had a wonderful stay , 7 night stay was not enough. Great hikes and stunning views.

Aguas Arriba felt like paradise on earth. As soon as we met at the boat we started relaxing and feeling appricated. They welcomed us and were attentive to our needs. The food was great it was among the best we had in Argentina! Wine selection was great a good mix of wines from Patagonia as well as Salta and Mendoza. The whole staff was outstanding, owners welcoming and fun to talk to. Staff worked with us to make sure every day had the right amount of activity and leisure. The tango lessons were fun. There are great hikes for to select from. We felt great the 4 days we spent here, and totally refreshed every morning in the quiet of nature, looking forward to our next visit there.
