🌟 Agung Raka Hotel Review – 6 out of 5 Stars! 🌟 I honestly don’t understand the bad reviews for Agung Raka Hotel. I came here after staying at a more expensive hotel (Sanubari Hotel) that cost twice as much per night. Taking the risk despite the negative reviews was the best decision I made! From the moment I arrived, I was amazed. This is a huge, beautiful hotel where you even need a buggy to get to your room. The views are spectacular, the pools are refreshing, and the atmosphere is relaxing. What really stood out was the staff—they were super friendly, always smiling, and responded right away to my needs through WhatsApp (which worked perfectly fine, even if the room phone wasn’t working). My room was consistently clean, tidy, and safe. The WiFi was strong, the service was warm, and everything felt well taken care of. I even told the organizer of the conference I was attending that this hotel is worth far more than its price. For me, Agung Raka deserves 6 out of 5 stars. 👏 Thank you so much to the wonderful staff—you made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bali! -Dr. Antonio Ramirez

The service was fine, and the location central, the cleanliness of the room was less than satisfactory. The bathroom (which was down a set of steep wooden stairs— slippery in the rain) was musty and humid with no air flow at all. Also NO HOT water. I waited for at least 5-10 minutes before I just had to shower in cold water. The bedroom— up the steep wooden stairs— was okay. The bed and pillows were hard as rocks. I think the sheets were dirty because I couldn’t stop itching while in bed. It got to the point where I had to buy antihistamines to try and help the issue. I slept with a thick hoodie on to try and stop the itching but it didn’t work. The mosquito net was falling off the top, which didn’t really serve a purpose in the long run. I was still swatting mosquitoes while trying to fall asleep. I was spraying myself in bug spray every night before getting in bed. The net also was gross, dead mosquitoes tattooed around. ***I have no idea what this about but I swear to you, as I was falling asleep one night, I was woken up by the sound of someone coming UP my stairs!! My heart raced and I literally yelled “NO!” There was a man’s response, but not in English. So I have no idea what was happening but needless to say, as a solo female traveler, that made me SUPER uneasy*** The front desk staff were nice. The young man who drove me to the airport was incredibly nice and sweet. He was probably my favorite part of my stay. I didn’t utilize the offerings of the hotel like the spa or the pool or breakfast. I was in a hurry to book a room when I booked this place and I did not do my due diligence in reading reviews. Please read the reviews, as it seems I am not the only one with a poor experience.

We are sending this response in order to address the issues that turned this once delightful holiday resort experience into a||very negative one. ||We hope that this will motivate the owners to make the necessary major changes that are urgently required. We can see there are so many bad review for this villa lately, but looks like none of those have been responded by the management, Amatara.....Very negligent or possibly KNOW NOTHING about hospitality industry||||We booked this place for 4 nights. Location is good, villa setting is beautiful, staff are friendly and helpful as much as they could be.||However we soon realised that we were in for very disappointing experience with the overall lack of maintenance of the villa.|| ||BATHROOM||Disgusting brown stains on all the towels that were supplied on the second day after the room had being cleaned (see photo)||Shower attachment hanging off the wall||No hot water on the first night. The maintenance guy fixed it immediately, but the next day the problem reoccurred||Smelly and brown water coming through all the taps (see photo)||The tiles in the shower were covered in mould||Bathroom basin pipe leaked everytime it was used and wet the bathroom floor||||BEDROOM||Multiple stains on bed linen, especially the duvet liner (see photo)||A GIANT gecko family lived on the ceiling above the bed. The family produced large poo droppings on a regular occurence (see photo) , and constant noise disturbing sleep. The staff said it is part of nature living (yeah right!!). We can tolerate these creatures in the open area, which are kitchen and tv lounge. BUT this is not acceptable in the enclosed area, bathroom and bedroom.||Large spider (8 cm wide) on the wall and curtain (see photo). Again this is controllable||A serious security issue was discovered when the Safety deposit box was not attached to the wall, could be easily taken away as it is light and small .||Window sill is full of termite ridden and rotten (see photo). Fat larvae all over||A Thick amount of algae all along the window and window ledge. Mixture of dead cockroaches, flies and spiders . See photo. A serious Healthy hazard!!!||Disgusting green mould on glass window (see photo)||||||KITCHEN||Water jug. Handle was broken (ready to cut anyone's finger) and the lid was badly cracked (see photo)||KItchen only had : Badly stained saucepan and casserole pot , 2 unpolished spoons and 3 forks, 2 mugs and 2 wine glasses. No kitchen cleansing items AT ALL!!!!||Musty smell kitchen cupboard, damp and full of spiders and gecko droppings ( another health hazzard!)||Missing fridge door inside the fridge||||TV LOUNGE||Indoor plant at deaths door (see photo). Seems like had not been watered for few months||Soiled sofa, causing itchiness when we sat on it. ||||ENTIRE VILLA||The wooden door entry to the villa garden was not able to be locked. The handle was broken and hanging off which made the villa insecure as both glass doors to the bedroom was unable to be locked (see photo). The maintenance guy came to put a temporary fix on the handles with duck tape, still not lockable. The friendly young guy also fixed the bedroom door, but still not fully secured as anyone could push both glass doors aside. ||As the villa is situated right by the rice paddy field, anyone from outside can easily have access to the villa||The doors to the indoor area were not sealed to the elements allowing any native creatures to come in, such as slugs, cockroaches, spiders, centipedes...and geckos of course!!. We can accept these creatures in the open air kitchen and lounge area balinese style, BUT the bedroom and bathroom are supposed||to be an enclosed area. ||||PRIVATE POOL||Pool had lots of missing tiles on the the bottom of the pool which made it unsafe to use - fear of cutting our foot. Presented as hazard.||Green algae built up around the parameter of the pool above the water line. Again, another health hazard!!||||RESTAURANT/ KITCHEN||Served in food warmer (bain marie), but all the food was cold. The kitchen staff kept topping up the food from the plates on the kitchen bench.||Bread, croissants and pastries were all stale||||OUTDOOR AREA||The setting is nice, but the garden requires much attention with weeds being prominent...||and the Paving area was overgrown with weeds and algae||Also the Sun lounge had no cushion||||We tried to address all of these issues with the Duty Manager or owner, but were told that the manager was sick. Were were unable to talk to them at all before we checked out.||The staff listened to our complaints and tried to compensate us with a nice floating breakfast, thank you. However that was not sufficient to ease our disappointments as we were charged the full price for a villa that was literally out of order!!! ||We would like to hear the response from the management or owner as it seems that they dont pay any attention to their business needs and just leave everything to the inexperienced staff who have no knowledge of running the hospitality business properly.||||Despite giving the worst feedback we have ever given to an accommodation, we really appreciate all the implied help from all the friendly staff.||We wish you all the best for the future....at another place!!! We don't see a future for you at this resort in the way it is currently being managed and maintained.

My experience at this place was not good at all. Although this resort has great potential, it is completely unutilized. Everything was dirty and disorganized. On top of that, the breakfast was very limited and cold — no iced coffee and not even a decent juice. The level of filth inside the resort makes me say that I do not recommend it at all.

Excellent surroundings and ambience. Staff over all extended warm and polite courtesy. To name Eggy at reception and in the restaurant Laxmi and Inda were polite and eager to help. Bit of unpleasant experience from one girl in restaurant who could have been polite but after showing my displeasure never appeared in the scene as this was reported to Mr. Eggy. Overall excellent. Breakfast full of breads. Suggestion could include sauted vegetables forguests who are vegetarian and from India.

This place had potential, but the staff ruined the experience. The administrators were dismissive and borderline rude, making us feel like a burden instead of guests. For the price we paid, I expected at least a little courtesy. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. I won’t be coming back and can’t recommend it to others.

A very traditional hotel and like all reviews need a bit need of renovation. We stayed for 4N .We were 2 ladies travelling on our first trip to Bali. The hotel is in an ideal location as its very near the town facilities. The staff are extremely nice and hospitable. We chose a room with pool view .The room had the bathroom and shower facility down and you need to climb creaky wooden stairs to the bedroom(ie Luggage will be carried through these stairs). Though room was clean we found it small and bit congested but its still value for money. Room has a seating area up and down on both floors. Unfortunately there is a free for all access to the below washroom and on our second night we felt scared that someone was using our washroom downstairs .However the staff were very prompt and upgraded our room to a better one (rice field view) which was amazing. Food for breakfast was good and fresh. Wonderful hotel staff too. As its a tropical place you need to expect all sorts of creatures(lizards to mosquitos) .Pools were clean and well maintained .The bathroom were clean but with rusty pipes. Hot water was available We loved the whole vibe the hotel has .Would come back but would prefer the second room(rice field view) more. The front desk staff especially (Dewa?)was really good. There is a buggy cart to take you around the hotel grounds and rooms.

We booked for 2 nights but we couldn't help but ran away from here 2 hours after check in. The villa was quite run down, dark and many insects in the room and on the bed. I understand Bali has lots of green surroundings but not all of them has this level of hygienic issue. Ants are all over the towels and around toilet and water pressure was terrible. The toilet water was yellow even before we use. Smelly bed sheets and staff didn't come back after saying yes when we asked for them anti bug spray and window need to be fixed.
