Been wanting to dive Raja for decades, and finally got to do it. And it did not disappoint, underwater is absolutely incredible! If you're into macro hit Rufus wall, it's like a who's who of Nudibranchs. Shore snorkeling off the West shore of the island is better than alot of dive site I've been to over the years.|And Agusta Eco Resort was the perfect place for our vacation, right in the middle of all the famous dive sites. Now as othe reviews have stated, getting here is shall we say "challenging", but once you are here you will have no regrets.|Agusta was perfect for us, as my wife does not dive. And so wherever we go a great beach is a perquisite for her, and Agusta did not disappoint! It is no problem to stroll along the beach all the way around the island. We stayed (8) nights in a Superior Cottage and loved it! |The food was great!|The staff was great!|We see reviews that nit-pick Agusta for this and that. This is a remote island, locted in a remote part of the world, and despite that the staff makes it work wonderfully! So if you go to Agusta expecting the Grand Wailea, then yes, you will be disappointed. But if you go expecting nice, comfortable accommodations, great food, awesome staff, wonderful beach, breathtaking scenery, great snorkeling and some of the best diving on the planet, then you will have a wonderful vacation!|Enjoy!

Raja Ampat (and the resort) are hard to get to and it’s probably a better holiday for scuba divers rather than those only looking to relax on a beach.||The resort has a dive centre and (even though I’m not a dive enthusiast), I found it really easy to go for 2 dives a day during our week long stay. The diving is amazing and the groups are kept fairly small - there was always more than 1 dive master in a group which meant we could surface at different times depending on our air consumption. Tip: check your gear carefully before leaving the island for dive trips, things went missing out of our box.||The resort isn’t luxurious and those who have travelled around Asia may expect more for the price that you pay - but the resort is on its own island and it must be difficult (and costly) to get supplies and workforce to the island. The pool was not very clean but it was nice to soak your legs in after a day of diving.||We were in a Raja room and the bed was really comfortable however we could see dust on the wooden walls. We looked at many options before booking and there isn’t much choice if you’re looking outside of Waisai for a non-home stay with air conditioning and hot water.||We would return again.

I just spent eight nights at Agusta Eco Resort.. I loved every minute. I highly recommend staying here while in Raja Ampat.|The bed was super comfortable, I slept so well. I stayed in a superior cottage just metres from the waters edge. The bedroom and bathroom are clean, well maintained and spacious. The air conditioning works really well. This is my third trip to Rajaampat, and I find air-conditioning and comfort necessary ! Full marks!||Crystal white sand an island you can walk around in about 30 minutes is a dream. ||The food was fantastic, a good variety, plentiful and really tasty. I have a sweet tooth and the deserts were brilliant, thank you to the kitchen team and the waiting staff for their wonderful service with a smile.||The Dive team, led by Riccardo was fantastic and really made sure I was looked after at all times, Dives and locations were organised with our consultation and wishes. I got my advanced open water certification under the guidance of Riccardo. Riccardo loves the ocean and all forms of life above and below the water, and he shares this with passion. I learnt so much. Safety was a high priority and well-being and comfort of the guests was taken into consideration at all times. The guides and crew made the dives fun and genuinely cared to show us as much as they could during the dives. ||It was sad to say goodbye and leave my Agusta friends.|Thank you Mara and Marco for building your dream in such a remote area. Full marks for everything you have done and for running a professional business here. Everything you see, has been brought out by boat or built on the island. Incredible. ||Oh…. And I almost forgot, world class diving! Fish and coral galore, and beauty above and below the water everywhere you look.||:-)

We spent 9 nights at the resort and did 18 dives and 17 snorkeling for those who snorkel.||Let me start with the good.|Reservation process and communication was easy and informative. ||Met by Ella at Sorong airport and helped into a regularly scheduled ferry to Waisai. The process of getting on and off the ferry is not as ideal due to the local rule and process I suppose. Then the resort team too us from Waisai to the Agusta resort by their own boat.||I wonder if a more private transaction can be arranged for transfer from Sorong to Waisai. This option could be a nice additional option.||The restaurant team was very nice and friendly. The pasta dishes were good even if it was a lot of fish and by the time we left, I wanted little to do with fish dishes :). The pizza crust for me specifically was doughy and needed a lot more time in the oven. There was a fish tartar that was not a favorite of anyone. Even the resort personnel agreed that the dish was a dud.||I would recommend mor option for Indonesia dish during dinner as intro to visitors to the country. While we got 2 maybe, having more options would have been nice since there are so many local options.||Divings were amazing. We were guided by Nando for diving and the snorkeling were guided by Henrik. Both groups couldn't say enough nice thing about them. Akon was in charge of transportation. All three were like a family by the time we left the resort.||Gia from the office was always ready to answer our questions and offer help.||We stayed at the far left bungalow ( if you are facing the restaurant. We had 2 rooms for myself, my wife and our daughter. This was the family unit.||Now let's talk about what can be improved ||The bathroom can use an upgrade. Especially the sink area.||While it is cute to have the soap and shampoo in those 2 little jars, I think of it were in some kind of push container so we don't have to waste more than needed would be very eco friendly.||My wife accidentally locked the bathroom and we couldn't get into it from both sides. They don't have a spare key to open the doors. While the maintenance was amazing in their resolve to finally open it, it involved ripping the netting and refixing it. They could rekey all the door to a single master key so there could be a spare.||I needed a "star" screw driver to check into my dive computer, the dive shop didn't have that tool and I missed mine because I switched some bag when packing. I promised Richardo that I would somehow mail him a set. I might have a spare set at home.

Stunning island! |The staff was very attentive and kind to customer needs. |Diving guides were excellent and professional, they showed us from small species such as seahorses to big species such as manta rays. |We had organised tours everyday, and each place was spectacular. |Fortunately boats were comfortable and fast, said by someone who suffers from seasickness. |Food was top quality, fish was brought by local fishermen every day. |We will definitely come back and I would recommend this experience to everyone!

I had a great time staying in Agusta Eco Resort with my family for one week. All the staffs were super friendly and helpful. If you love diving, the resort is perfectly located in the middle of the Raja Ampat marine park. You can reach most of the diving spots (e.g. Melissa Garden, The Passage, etc.) within one hour of a boat ride.

I wanted to share some feedback on my week in Agusta. As many of us I checked the lower comments and was a bit scared to book- And they are clearly not correct. AGUSTA is a great resort, value for money and very well located in the heart of Raja Ampat. Making it easy for most divesites access and an hour of easy efficient team transfer from the sorong wasei ferry The pros : The island is great and each bungalow is on a white sand beach facing the sea The dive masters and local team are really nice . We had Claudio. He was very familiar with the dive sites and we saw a lot of quite unique marine life typical of Raja. Boats are nice and the team is efficient. We had a family room. Spacious / with a perfect silent efficient aircon and beds with great nets and a cool terrace -a great freshwater pool and a fun pontoon with fishes and reefsharks to observe the evening The local manager lady speaks decent English as well as the dive masters The points to improve : -While there is a clear positive Italian touch, food could be improved and with a bit of training it would be even better -Same for the spa. The lady is nice but with a bit of training it would be better -Some of the equipment of the diveshop is ageing and could be better maintained ( shoes/masks/combis) but anyways lessons learned most people come with their equipment. The tanks and stab were although perfect and that s the main thing -There is a slight issue of smell in showers and bathrooms but we understand it s far from easy to fix everything in remote locations Overall we really loved it and rated 5 despite a few comments that are there to help the owner :) Pascal and family
