32 Best Things to Do in Lisbon, Portugal's Sun-Soaked Capital | Condé Nast Traveler

"If you picked up even a hint of fado knowledge, you’ll know Amália Rodrigues; this interactive space dives deeper into her life with impactful experiences. We loved the virtual reality 360-degree video room, and the stage room’s hologram performance gave us chills—you’ll leave wanting to add a fado playlist to your favorites." - Abigail Malbon

Amazing! We can know about her life and career, we can see some of her dresses. The 360° room is great! And the last concert is brilliant! I wanted more! Visit it! And the guides are very nice!

It is 20 or 17 euros (if 65+) but what an incredible light and sound room. Really give you a great education on Fado and this Portugese Fado star. Personal tour in first section but give you time to just explore on your own. Guide times it to the interests. Highly recommend. It is in an older warehouse part of town that is attempting to bring a young work/live vibe to the area.

Ah Amália offers a fresh and creative take on museum storytelling — immersive, visually striking, and emotionally engaging. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into the design and atmosphere, making it a unique cultural stop in Lisbon. That said, to truly appreciate the experience, it's essential to have some prior knowledge (and appreciation) of who Amália Rodrigues was. Without that context, parts of the museum might feel a bit abstract or less engaging. The ticket price feels a little steep considering the museum’s size — it's not very large, and the visit doesn't take too long. Still, for fans of Fado or Portuguese culture, it's a moving and modern tribute to a national icon. Overall, worth visiting if you're already interested in Amália or want something different from the typical museum experience.

If you want to learn about Fado, start here! There’s a reason they are nominated for the for the World Travel Awards for "Europe's Leading New Tourist Attraction". Amazing use of new technologies for a great visitor experience - 10/10

€12 per person. The exhibit room seemed boring to Kids, as they were not familiar with Amalia Rodrigues . However, they did enjoy the room full of lights and the experience of wearing VR goggles and flying across in the virtual world . It was a great way to learn about the time when she was successful in the U.S. and other parts of the world. The dress room was lovely.

Very interesting, although I would have liked to learn more about her personal life. The immersion room was great, as were the 3d goggles, but I really enjoyed the hologram performance.

What a beautiful and interactive way to introduce our kids to Fado. All of us, including our 7 and 9 year olds, loved it. It’s a beautiful way to learn about Amalia and appreciate her importance to Lisbon.
