Nestled in the Singapore Zoo, Ah Meng Restaurant serves up a casual mix of local and Western favorites, perfect for a tasty pit stop between animal encounters.
Price equal to the portion and it is quite worth it.
The price was definitely more than the city but the portion was huge. Tried few times here, cutlet chicken was good, korean food was also good and filling.
Need to improve on the process, cause we need to give the slip to collect and wasn't informed to do so.

I have numerous allergies so I wasn’t expecting to eat anything good at the Zoo but ended up getting the salmon egg rice without sauce and it was exactly what I needed after our long morning walk. My husband got the “plant-based” mutton curry with basmati rice and he really enjoyed that. The lady that helped us at the counter was super helpful! The restaurant was crowded but it wasn’t hard to get a table at all on a Tuesday afternoon. #glutenfree #soyfree #dairyfree

Spent $20.4 on this tandoori chicken briyani and a glass of coke. The portion was big enough to satisfy a hungry zoo guest like me. The taste was pretty average. For the price, a bit expensive.

Main zoo restaurant. Food was decent with big dish sizes.
Unfortunately it's a self-pickup restaurant. After you stand in queue to order you then stand again in queue to pass your order to the kitchen then wait there to pick-up your food.
Also they're a bit desperate with their "environment saving" that they don't even give you napkins to clean your hands / mouth after eating, you have to buy a separate 2$ napkins package

Food quality is terrible. Considering service isn’t great as well. The vibe can be likened to a food court but food courts in Singapore have great food most times. And the prices are definitely not food court prices.
The chicken rice, chicken was dry and hard. Fish and chips, fish was dry, fries were tasteless. Chicken Cutlet, chicken was dry. I think a lot has to do with pre frying the items before orders are received.
At the counter when picking up the food, sauce dishes were not available to take the self-serve sauces available. The cutlery was not washed properly, some had food stains.
As this seemed to be the only option once you’re inside the zoo, I guess a lot of people come here to eat because of that lack of options.

The breakfast at the Singapore Zoo surpassed expectations. Amidst the wildlife, it offered a diverse buffet with local delights. The value for money made it an exceptional experience—highly recommended for a memorable start to your day!
And there is a animal show performance and get your photos taken with the animals.

We came here for breakfast in the wild and then again for lunch since it’s the only place to eat in the zoo. Buffet was ok but not great. The items weren’t refreshed often and so we missed out on a lot of them. Some were just substandard, like the hashbrowns were all soggy and the fruit on the fruit platter was underripe. At lunch the queue was massive and we waited 20 mins to place our order.

Heading to a place like the zoo, you'd expect things to cost a bit more, and yep, the food here isn't cheap. The taste is pretty normal, basically just to get full. But, the Mala is actually pretty good, which is a nice surprise when you're not expecting much from a touristy spot. Now, the drinks are another story. Paid $8.90 for a fruit juice, and honestly, it tasted worse than the cheap stuff you get from a vending machine for just two bucks. So, maybe stick to the simple stuff when it comes to drinks.
