Vienna, Austria’s Timeless Capital, Is Looking Toward the Future

"A bakery with vintage signage run by Julian Lubinger, known for its sculptural croissants that are as tanned as the Baroque frills of the Hofburg."

Sorry for posting all buns partially eated, but this is the best way how to show them 😁. Croissant with basque cheecake - something to dye for, really!!! Or that small cinnamon roll from croissant dough with chocolate on the top and SALT - again brilliantly amazing idea 😍. Focacca - forget about calories, it is food made in heaven, with proper saltiness level, definitely sourdough. And the last but not least - bun with cherries, cottage cheese and bit of pecan/walnut in the top - oh my... The prices are rather high, but to be honest each bite is worth it!

My opinion might be unpopular, but I’d still like to share it. I had heard many good things about this bakery and finally decided to visit. The place is very small and has its own charm, but there are barely any seats, so it’s not really a spot to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff was really very friendly. The selection, however, was quite limited: a few filled croissants, danish and pain au chocolat, that’s all I think. I decided to try “the cheesecake croissant”, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The croissant itself was bland and mediocre, lacking balance in both salt and sugar. The cheesecake filling left a sour aftertaste, and the combination just didn’t work for me. The price (€6) felt a little bit excessive. For that amount, you could get a full cheesecake and a couple of decent croissants elsewhere (I’ve had far better croissants and cheesecakes in Vienna, both in taste and quality). I understand this bakery has its fans, and that’s great. But for me, it just didn’t live up to the hype. As they say, everyone has different tastes, and that’s a good thing :)

Completely amazing pastry! I was expecting a sit down bakery so I was a little surprised but the service and baking did not disappoint. The baker who helped me was kind, informative and told me they usually sellout before 12pm. Although they only had a few remaining pastries, the one I chose was perfect! Fennel, rhubarb danish. * chefs kiss*

Really delicious! The prices for backery are a bit too high ( 6 eur per piece) but it is compensated by really good 2eur filter coffee. Can't wait to come again!

the best croissant I had in Eastern Europe. I visited here twice in a three-day stay in Wien, and I regret I didn’t visit this place once more. even willing to visit Wien once again just to eat their croissant. I had the one with pretzel crust, two originals, and one with pistachio fillings. Damn I miss them so much.

The best pistacchio croissant I ever had. Light, fluffy , with the perfect amount of cream. The only downside is they only sell them till 12-1 pm.
