The owner is often present and genuinely takes pride in the restaurant, making an effort to chat with guests and ensure everyone is enjoying their meal — a rare and appreciated touch in today’s fast-paced dining scene. The food here is consistently fresh, well-prepared, and of excellent quality. You can tell that a lot of care goes into ingredient selection. Whether you're building your own bowl or choosing from the preset combinations, the variety is impressive and everything tastes vibrant and clean. The vegetables are crisp, the meats are tender, and the seafood is always fresh. One of the standout features is how well the food is cooked to perfection. The broths are rich and satisfying, especially their house-made bases which pack a lot of flavor without feeling heavy. Everything arrives hot, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. Super delicious and friendly service. I understand the high reviews. At first I was a little underwhelmed by the “build your own bowl” ingredient selection compared to the larger chains, but they make up for it with the most delicious and rich broth. I also feel like the ingredients are less overcooked than the other places. Both times we’ve gone, I got the tomato and my partner got the Szechuan spicy - we both picked our own ingredients and paid by weight. This is the ONLY place I found myself DRINKING the broth, because I never do! 🍅 You can get a free Rice for over 350g (>$15 I think). I’m excited to try more, like their skewers.

I’ve been loyal customer at Ai-Boiled Garden City since March 2023 going at least once a month. Their pork bone soup combo with the signature dipping sauce and ice lemon tea is always my go to. Every meal ends with my favourite mango ice cream cone. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The warm atmosphere feels like eating at a family member’s restaurant. This Malatang spot has been my go-to comfort food place, and it feels like home.

Tried the house special beef soup set, really tasty and loved the broth! Set also came with a complimentary drink. Also edamame was delicious too. Owner was friendly too and service was great! Changes from the lineups at Big Way Hotpot.

So far my favorite malatang place in metro vancouver area. Friendly staff, really good broth, but can be better with the topping selection. In that sense bigway might be better but imo this place has superior broth.

Seating is limited but service is timely Staff offers first-timers options - try a set or build your own bowl I opted for the set - tomato broth..loved how zesty the broth was, full-bodied flavour and packed with a lot of ingredients It also came with lemon tea

Very friendly staff, delicious hot pot style soup, nice variety of toppings! Got some complementary edamame & ice tea, which was much appreciated! Would come back for sure!

Had a fellowship with friends from church over dinner @ this restaurant. They are indeed the best place for mini hotpot and noodle soup. The server was patient with my friend who doesn’t speak Chinese and always checked in on us. It was a pity that we didn’t capture the fried skewers picture!
