"Aigai Qum" hotel

The review score seem high and the room looks nice in picture but they let us stayed in a new building which is under construction and full smell of painting oil. We couldn’t sleep because of that smell. No wifi, no Tv, no mirror inside toilet, view with only construction and dust. The staffs here seem unfriendly and rude as well. They seem uncomfortable with letting us use the refrigerator and complaining that we open it too much. So disappointed!!! Plus, food portion is little

Little choice in the area so forced to stay here. Uncomfortable beds, room not serviced, food mediocre, very hard to recommend. This is compounded by the mistreatment of a puppy I observed during my stay. If you stay here, please look out for it and encourage the owner to start taking better care of it.

Friendly local guesthouse. Quite busy with travellers. About 100m from park office. Our family of 4 stayed here and it was great for a night. Owner was friendly. We booked via WhatsApp for 2 rooms with adjoinin bathrooms. Basic but clean. Beds are like cardboard but duvet and pillows are decent. We ate dinner, everyone served in a large dining hall. Everyone ate around 19.30 and was served the meal of the evening. We had chicken noodle soup, pasta with tasty mushroom cream sauce, salad, bread and local treats for dessert. Cold water was served if you asked. Everyone seemed to bring their own vodka , beers, wine etc. You can keep a bag in the big fridge. The local grocery store had nothing interesting but they do have liquor. Breakfast isn't served until 8.00 (no takeaway) so plan ahead if you want to leave at 7.30 for park opening at 8 (although we were allowed in at 7.45). You will need to get your permit the night before at the park office that closed at 18.00.

Apparently there isn't much choice in the area but you're close to the park entrance and ticket office here. The rooms are fairly clean but quite tired and not that comfortable. Fine for one night. No aircon or tv and the wifi only works in the corridor. The food is the same for everyone although they can cope with some changes if you let them know in advance. The ladies in the kitchen were friendly, we saw the owner once and he was pretty rude. Main areas are basic but the back out by the garage is dirty and filled with rubbish. We saw the owner's dog that others have mentioned. It's really sweet and friendly and it's neck seems to be healing. It was filthy and living in awful conditions [amongst rubble and in a hole under a shed]. It doesn't seem to walk quite right, possibly from being tied up or not having enough room to exercise. But we're glad we saw it and gave it some treats, poor thing.

The owner has a puppy living in terrible squalor at the back near the card. He hadn’t loosened its collar as it grew and its neck under its chin was cut and infected. We cleaned the wounds and gave it antibiotic cream and asked the owner to let us take it as no one seemed to care about it. He refused. Please check on the puppy if you go there. It’s so good natured and deserves a better life. The hotel is basic but clean. Beds etc are hard and everything needs maintenance. The food isn’t great but there aren’t many choices in the area.

Price was good, about 23000 tengi incl dinner and breakfast. Hotel is clean, pillows were pretty bad but the bed was comfy and the showers nice. It was fine for one night, but staff wasnt necessarily friendly and we had to ask for towels and toilet paper. I would give it 3.5/5 but google only allows 3 or 4.

Perfectly functional for spending a night or two very close to Altyn Emel National Park, but nothing else. Most of the rooms are very small, dark and quite infested by ants, the wifi is very weak everywhere except the reception hall, the garden is not cared for, but aside from that - if you need a place to sleep at close to the park, this is the choice.
