Visiting the Aiguille du Midi via the Aiguille du Midi Cable Car was truly one of the best experiences and most breathtaking views I have had so far. I absolutely loved it. The scenery at the top is simply incredible, you are surrounded by the stunning peaks of the Mont Blanc Massif, and the panoramic views are unforgettable. I visited together with my mom, which made the experience even more special for us. It is something we will definitely remember for a long time. One thing to keep in mind is that the altitude is quite high, and some platforms and viewpoints can feel a bit intense. For older visitors or for people who get dizzy easily, it’s good to take things slowly and be a bit cautious. That said, everything is well organized and safe, and you can enjoy the views at your own pace. Overall, it was an amazing experience and something I would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the region.

The ascent is done in a large cable car that departs about every 15 minutes, with one change halfway. In around 15–20 minutes you reach the top at 3,800 meters. From the summit, the view is exceptional: over Chamonix, Mont Blanc, and on clear days even Mont Rose and the Matterhorn. At the top there are several panoramic terraces and an interactive area explaining how altitude affects the human body. From here also starts the famous 20 km off-piste ski descent, suitable only for professional skiers. There is also the well-known glass skywalk, where you can experience the feeling of being suspended over 1,000 meters of empty space (waiting time around 1 hour). At the top you can find a restaurant and a bar. We had a sandwich and a drink at the bar, which were very good. After visiting the shop for a small souvenir and spending about two hours at altitude, we went back down. Overall, a unique and unforgettable experience, absolutely worth it when visiting Chamonix.

What a wonderful experience ✨️. You simply can’t visit Chamonix and skip this, it’s a must. The views are absolutely out of this world, and seeing the Alps from up there is truly magical. I visited during the holiday season and it was extremely cold, but honestly, I wouldn’t choose to visit at any other time. If you get cold easily, make sure you’re well prepared with heavy clothes, a scarf, gloves, and a warm hat/beanie. One important tip: if you plan to eat there, arrive at the cafeteria before 3 PM, as they stop serving hot food after that, which was a bit disappointing, I had to settle for a cup of hot chocolate. There’s also a really nice souvenir shop with beautiful items and gadgets. Overall, an unforgettable experience and something I absolutely loved.

Just out of this world experience. The views are absolutely stunning. The facilities are amazing considering the height. Multiple decks for panoramic views. Do keep in mind that the oxygen level will be low and some might feel a bit dizzy. Once in a life time experience,

One of the best experiences our family have had, the views and overall experience was epic. It is a little expensive £200 for a family of three but please trust me it is worth every penny.

Your amazing ride starts in the center of chamonix, there you will take the most thrilling cable car ride if you life. With the best views, grass that turns u to snow, and trees that turn into massive cliffs. Aguille du midi is a must for everyone. The views at the top are truly out of this world and make you seem so small. Would recommend to everyone visiting chamonix. Give out of five stars

Incredible views. Best thing to do is to get a 1-day Mont Blanc Unlimited Ski Pass that allows you to visit both Aiguille du Midi and Montenvers Mer De Glace (+ Ice Cave). Just make sure to plan it accordingly as the cable cars last ascent may be quite early during winter time. There was heavy snowfall the day before I went so Aiguille du Midi opening time was delayed. You can see live information on this online easily, and even if you reserved an early cable car they will let you go up later (at least for the Unlimited Ski Pass that I got, not sure if you have the separate ticket for Aiguille du Midi only.

Wow!!! Just stunning. Exceptional views 360. Will do again. Review will not do any justice. You just have to go. Nice cafe as well. Stairs from elevator to cafe was a bit of a drag in the thin air. Wife’s lips turned purple from lack of oxygen. Be aware of the signs.

This is one of the best things we did during our visit. The cable car needs reservation, and in June last week, we were able to book on the same day but heard in peak seasons it runs out by weeks, so plan ahead. The cable car will be crowded and very tight spots. The ride experience is one of the best we had overall. This is a must-see experience on the French alps. Plan ahead, and you will spend at least 3 to 4 hours. In late June, we saw beautiful snow mountains over the clouds and walked inside an ice cave . Now words to describe this beauty !!!

Aiguille du Midi is the highest cable car in the French Alps. The ride up or down isn't the most comfortable. Standing room only, and you're packed in like sardines. If you're thinking of taking scenic photos, wait until you reach the top. Wear warm clothes. It's cold at the top, but you will encounter some hardy climbers wearing shorts and vests. Yes, climbers! They end their ride by walking down.

A must when in Chamonix. Plenty of cable cars leaving. Suggest you buy your tickets ahead of time. You take two cars to get up to the top. Great views. A bit cold .

Trying to take a Time Machine back to 2016 on a trip my wife and I took around France, Switzerland, Italy, and the UK to bring back some reviews of our favorite spots. This is a once in a lifetime place to visit that I cannot recommend enough. Although I am not the greatest when it comes to heights, this was an incredible experience. Take the gondola up the mountain to 12,602 ft above sea level for the most epic, jaw dropping views you will never forget. Take a chance and stand over a glass bottom looking down thousands of feet. Breathe in the crisp, cold, mountain air are you get panoramic views of the mountains and valley below. If you ever find yourself in Chamonix, do NOT miss this opportunity. The lift up the hill can be a little pricey, (if I recall correctly, it was around 45 euro/person) but it is definitely worth it! Check out some images from our experience and visit if you can!

This is the closest point you can take to the summit of Mont Blanc via cable car. You'll be gaining nearly 9000 feet (or nearly 3000m) in elevation from Chamonix all the way to the top. Definitely take it easy up there since the air is much thinner. The cable car can be a bit pricey and you may need to wait in line for the next available tram. If you come on a sunny and relatively clear day, you'll have magnificent views of the valleys below. There are also several different platforms for views in all directions. Budget at least several hours at the summit and be prepared to dress in layers since it's much colder at the top.

I don't often review tourist venues, but in Chamonix, one must go up to Aiguille du Midi. This was my second time in Chamonix and my second time up Aiguille du Midi. The views from the top are simply amazing and you can choose to hike from the top (if certified...and have the proper gear), or do a more casual hike (no cert. necessary) from the transfer point about halfway up the mountain. Regardless, one should bring along winter gear as it is quite cold regardless of the season. This time up a fleece, cap and hiking shoes were sufficient and I brought along a proper ski cap and gloves for casual hiking. Of utmost importance is to ascend on a clear morning, so definitely important to check the weather. Also recommended is to go early! If you don't have reservations then you'll need to buy a ticket at the ticket booth which opens at 6 am. The first car up the mountain is at 6:30 and after 9:00 it can be a zoo with the all the tour groups. Regardless, it's definitely worth the wait!

Spectacular visit and watching all the trekkers get ready for all kinds of expeditions. Enjoy this magnificent mountain. Tons of hikes and walks to add to this trip up to the top of the world.

The Best place I have ever been. On the way up in the cable car my ears started popping due to the altitude shift. The view from the top is indescibably awesome. What a rush from standing looking out over the pyrenees with the cloud stretched out below you. I went during the summer and it was so green! Go There! Go There! Go There! The disapointing thing was the observatory tour which was basically boards stuck on the wall in only french language, except one on thunder in English. The film is worth watching as it has footage from 1920's showing how this place came to be there. It's unbelievable that the french government were going to close it in 1998.

Let me just say that this is an AMAAAAZING experience and the highlight of our Chamonix stay. Here's how it works. To get up to the Aiguille du Midi you need to take the cable car. The first car takes you halfway up and you switch cars to the one that takes you to the top. When you buy your ticket you are given a boarding time. We went at around 11am in late July and the wait was around 40-60 minutes to board. We brought our own baguette and cheese but otherwise, there are restaurants at the top. You can get out halfway at Plan de L'Aiguille but I would highly recommend to go all the way to the top first and go to Plan de L'Aiguille on the way back if you still have energy. The view is great all the way but when you reach the top the view is just simply stunning. With the view and the altitude and adjustment to the thin air we were slightly disoriented for a few minutes when we first reached the top. As you cross the bridge from the cable car station to the pipe there's a ticket station selling tickets to the gondola ride that takes you over to Italy. If you are an international traveler and want to take that ride, you have to bring a long your passport and also allocate extra time for your visit. The first feature that you'll come across is the ice-carved tunnel. Very slippery here. Once you go on the outside you can see people trekking across the snow. When you've had enough of that you can go back in and make your way to the long stretch of outdoor terraces where you get different views of the mountain and valley, and also watch people trekking, climbing and rappelling. Here, you are not even at the highest point! There's an elevator that takes you up to the summit area which is at 3842m (over 12,000 ft). Enjoy the view here or make a beeline for the Step Into The Void - a full glass enclosure. Everyone is required to wear soft slippers when stepping into the void. What I like about this is that the staff there will help you take photos with your cell phones or cameras. They don't try to sell you expensive photos like a lot of tourist attractions do. Unfortunately when we were there the peak was engulfed by clouds so you can't really see anything in the background. Otherwise it would have been awesome. For crowd control you are asked to spend a certain amount of time on the peak and you can only descend after a certain time depending on your ticket. Make sure you pay attention to when they call out your group. There's a ton of people waiting to descend and the waiting area can feel claustrophobic. When you descend halfway to Plan de L'Aiguille some people might opt to hike the rest of the way down. Looking at the trail I think it requires a fair bit of physical fitness to make it all the way down. We skipped that and took the cable car home. We went in July and brought a jacket. It's actually hot except for when there's a gust of wind. You don't need gloves but sunglasses are a must. Sunblock recommended.

A trip to the Aiguille du Midi is well worth the expensive tram ticket. The top station is a miracle of engineering and provides expansive views of the entire Chamonix Valley, Valle Blanche, and the climbing route to Mont Blanc du Tacul. If you are stationed on the outdoor viewing platform (facing MB du Tacul) between 10:00 and 12:00, you will see climbers finishing the traverse of the Cosmiques Arête. The food and souvenirs are nothing special, but be sure to take tons of photos.

The Aig did Midi is beautiful but the crowds definitely are a major problem. I had to wait from 6am to 8:30am just to get on the lower car. Even the climbing routes are loaded with as many as twenty parties on a 400m ridge! Unless you feel like you must go to this particular place, I would go elsewhere.

Gorgeous views which are well worth the ticket. When you go make sure you leave plenty of time as you can spend so long just gazing at the gorgeous view. This would probably not be a great idea for anyone with vertigo as some of the walkways are made of mesh which means you can see how far up you are!

Wow! Taking the cable car up here was so incredible. The views were stunning. It was so fast and convenient to take the cable car up. We also hiked over to the Mer de Glace from the cable car transfer point. This trip really tops off everything else.

A mixed response from me because indeed the view is superb and literally breathtaking but I had enough after 20 mins (vertigo) and was told we had a time slot to go back down (an hour an a half minimum)this meant with the limited time i had for the last train I couldnt enjoy the restaurant on the next plateau below.That said it was an awesome sight and while the snack bar was limited the inside restaurant had more to offer (but not enough seats)Glad i made this trip though even though my legs were wobbly!The cable car ride was brilliant!

AMAZING! L'Aiguille du Midi on Mont Blanc, in my opinion, is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. On a clear day, the views are breathtaking! If anywhere near here, this trip up the highest mountain in the Alps should not be missed. Have now been here 4 times in 28 years and it still is a magnificent experience worth every Euro you pay for the 2 cable cars to 12,000+ feet.

Really great alpine mountain views. The cable car to the top was EUR42.50, and worth the trip.
