Aiken Fish House and Oyster Bar

We wanted to go to Aiken Fish house to try their new menu items. The food was good as is typical. The new menu now charges extra for premium sides and doesn’t offer a couple of the items from before such as grouper. We were disappointed in that because my son wanted to order a grouper. The waitress was sweet and the place was clean. The sweet potato fries were really good as were the collard greens. My baked potato was dense and dry, so be sure to request a fresh one. And my catch of the day was very tiny as far as the size. If I had known that I would’ve ordered something different. I’m happy that we have this restaurant in Aiken, and will go again.

The place was FULL on a Monday (7:15pm they close at 9pm) and we STILL were able to get seated within 10 minutes without a reservation. I suggest calling ahead if needed. The floor was sticky in the restroom and in certain areas of the dining section (im assuming it was due to the time we arrived vs time business closes + customer volume). The Whole Red Snapper Plate (photo) was a hit for some. Others enjoyed the burgers, and the hush puppies were cooked "Just Right!". The fries were over seasoned, the rice & beans lacked flavor and was dry. (Again could be due to the time of our dining). Our server was Great! Didn't need to ask for refills. She would check the table at the right times (not when your mouth is full of food 🤣). We were not acknowledged right away upon entering - again, they were PACKED, and there is only 1 hostess. The other staff (who were by the door- bartender, waitresses) didn't acknowledge either, but personally, I'm only interested in how my own wait staff is since they are getting my tip. Overall, it was an OK experience, again could be due to the time we choose to go vs the time the business closes.

Had the green 🍏 tomatos.. under seasoned,firm cooked perfectly.... Charbroil oysters, magnificent...I had cod platter my date catfish.the fish was flakey & delicious. The greens were "ok".I've learned in the south there's a million different ways people cook greens..(under seasoned).but ok... But BABY THE RED BEANS 🫘 (OR LACK THERE OF)& RICE WAS THE STAR OF THE SHOW.. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Just needed more beans ..WAiter was great very attentive. I'm definitely going back

This was our first time here, came around 4:30 on a Friday early in March. Not super busy yet (probably would have been later). There were no prices for beer or cocktails on the bar menu, so we didn't order any (I hate asking for a price; although the menu does helpfully inform you that "you can buy the kitchen staff a round for an extra $10"). Our fish and chips came with a couple of quite hard little hushpuppies. It was disappointing that a small side of coleslaw isn't included with a fish and chip meal (this is the 765th fish and chip restaurant in North America that we have eaten at by the way, and of those only 7 have not served a small coleslaw with the dinner) A 18-22% tip is recommended and thoughtfully calculated for your convenience. Our waitress was perfunctory.

Drove down on the golf cart as usual! Was super excited about the new menu. Holy guacamole May the 4th be with you the fish house crew has blown it out the water! Its the largest menu i have seen since AFH opened! Its loaded with a lot of good stuff! We had pimento cheese shrimp jelly jam w/ naan and hush puppies. One of the best appetizers I’ve ever had! Wings were wings but the Teri Hot sauce reminded me of Wife Savers flavor back in the day. Daughter had poke bowl and loved it and fiancé had blacked salmon. We loved everything we had and was very pleased

Wow we were impressed with the size of the fish and chips and the oysters as well and make sure you try the shrimp and grits (highly recommended) Food was good but missed out on the Rasberry cheesecake (we got that and more two doors down at the Fresh Market). Overall was good food.

We were told about this spot the Aiken Fish House,it took us an hour to get here but it was worth the drive. It’s in a shopping center with a large amount of parking, we arrived about 6:00 Saturday afternoon with no reservations.The wait was only about 8 or 9 minutes. The staff was very friendly as well as the customers. We had Dana as our waitress and she did a phenomenal job with helping us to decide what we would order. We ordered blackened alligator tail as our appetizer. The hubby had the Seafood platter which was enough for two and I ordered the fish & shrimp with two sides. Everything was delicious and seasoned so well. I don’t like bland food without seasoning. The chef’s took there time and cooked with love it was good. We also tried an oyster shot which was a little spicy but different. All in all we enjoyed the experience.

I decided to visit Aiken fish house & oyster bar b/c I had a meeting for work there last year and the food was great. Since I was visiting. The area I decided to eat there I ordered the same thing I got last time. Shrimp and grits and a key lime margarita. The margarita was amazing how ever my shrimp and grits were not. I literally received 4 shrimps in my plate and there was more sauce than grits. I was beyond disappointed. As for the service I’ll give it a 3 out of 5 most of the staff were standing around talking. I had to ask someone walking by for my tab. Don’t think I’ll be returning.

The fried green tomatoes were great. The pomento cheese has a little kick to it. This makes a great combination. The server was good too. She made sure we had everything we needed. For being Mother's Day, it was not super busy. This kept it quiet. If you are able to get a booth, it can be romantic. Good food and good service. Great restraunt.

Love the Aiken Fish House. Our goto place whenever we have business in town. From the shrimp n grits, to the chefs platter, trigger fish, shellfish, etc I've tried so many dishes. Staff treats you like family and some even recognize us from prior visits (we live in the west, so getting recognized make ya feel great so far from home) Interior is just right for a small get together or a big crowd. I really wanted to love Aiken Fish House but the food was extremely bland or over seasoned. What do I mean? I got the fish basket with fried cod and the cucumber dill salad. The fish had no seasoning and was just deep fried in breading (also not seasoned) and thrown on the plate. The "seasonal special" of the cucumber dill salad was in a watery, sour cream dressing with raw red onions. The dressing had the strangest taste I've ever had and everyone at the table agreed it just tasted off. It takes 15 minutes to quick pickle red onions so they don't have such an onion bite. My friend got the Cajun shrimp and fish grits that legitimately looked like someone threw up in a big bowl. It was extremely spicy and just looked awful. You couldn't taste any of the seafood through the mess they dumped on it. Our fried calamari app was over-cooked and rubbery. The servers, however, were very nice as everyone mentioned and came by frequently to refill drinks. We were initially hopeful as the restaurant was packed when we walked in but quickly realized the median age of the other patrons was about 60 and who generally seemed to appreciate seafood with minimal seasoning. A nice little spot with a lot of potential but not executed very well.

The service is the slowest we've ever experienced since we moved here. Almost an hour after we ordered and we waited 20 min for a table before that. Don't do it unless you have all night.

The food here was incredible and the price was right. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on a visit down to the Aiken area. We had the warm peel and eat shrimp appetizer as well as oysters. I had the shrimp boil with crab legs as my main dish. All of the seafood was fresh and just delicious. The service was We're moving to the area soon and look forward to coming back!

Food was good . My waitress was nice and waiting on me throughout my time here . They were also a television you could watch while eating your dinner ! Overall, I would come back to this place !!!

Mostly very good, but I've experienced "off" days where the food wasn't up to par. Hush puppies are practically my favorite but on some occasions they just aren't up to par. And baked potatoes are on again, off again as well. Sometimes they seem to be warmed up/ left over.

Found this little gem while visiting Aiken. I had the Cajun shrimp & grits and found it delicious. They had a decent selection of local beers and selected a good Savannah River beer which was good too. Lastly, the service was friendly and good. Overall, it was a good experience and recommend checking it out.

Love the atmosphere and great service. Reminds me a lot of a restaurant in Florida. The food was ok. The tacos and Po Boy did lack the flavor (little bland). Maybe there wasn't enough sauce. The best tasting item were the hush puppies (seasoned perfectly, crispy on the outside and super moist on the inside). I will be back to try more of the menu

We enjoy eating here frequently but it can be really busy at peak times. The restaurant gets so loud that you can't hear anything anyone says. Fish and chips is delicious! Friendly servers. Great food. A favorite place.

Torn on this one. The food was good...actually pretty good. Possibly the worst hush puppies on earth; but that is trivial. Nice oysters, shrimp and fish. Good beer selection. The bad, the place is nasty dirty in every respect! The "hostess" was cleaning tables with a nasty towel and just wiping off the table gunk onto the floor! Then wiping multiple chairs and tables with the same towel! Utterly disgusting! That gal needs to be just excused! The bathrooms were disgusting. Towels and junk on the floor. Even a tshirt just tossed (like wtf?)!! So in the end, not sure we would return. Just gross...so who knows what the rest is like.

This has become a staple in south Aiken. Located in a place that has been several restaurants it has lasted longer that all the previous businesses. The salads and huge with fresh, crispy ingredients. The main entrees are always tasty and served quickly and hot. The service is good and the waitstaff are friendly. The place is cute with standard tables and booths. It can get a bit loud if the place is busy.

This used to be one of our favorite go to places in town....but our last two visits left us totally underwhelmed. The table was sticky, and the food was bland or over cooked. The Mac and cheese side looked (and tasted) like it had been reheated several times over the course of the week. The service however, is always friendly and attentive. Sadly we are probably not going back until they start to put out better and fresher food.

We had reservations on a Friday evening, so seated quickly! We were not expecting this restaurant at the end of a shopping center or the environment, but we were pleasantly surprised! The decor felt like the ocean was just right outside! The food & service were on point! We tried some yummy items on the menu, including fried green tomatoes, peel & eat shrimp, 3 catch combo (blackened mahi, salmon, more shrimp!), and seafood fries (not on the menu, but pictured online) that were so very good! We will definitely be back for more and try some other things like those burgers that looked awesome! Everything was delicious! Aiken fishhouse did not disappoint. When they first opened everything was great. The last 2times not at all. Just ate there today and the food was not good. The way in wish everything was cooked was either overcooked or has no flavor. Basic batter. For what I paid it should have been good. Got the green tomatoes. Ranch is a no. Tomotos had no flavor. Bang Shrimp/ aweful sauce . Fried snapper ( we ordered 2) over battered, overcooked, and no flavor. Hushpups burnt. Fried shrimp/ basic as they come. No flavor. This is a seafood restaurant. I expect more .

First time visiting, we went early for dinner, not crowded, fair service, the food was disappointing....crab legs ok.... Oysters had a lot of tasteless breading, had to hunt for the oysters-did not taste fresh...the collard greens were very chewy and tasted like I was chewing on sticks...the hush puppies were hard and overcooked...everything was really flavorless...I do not have a big appetite-so the portions were ok if you could eat it- hubby was still hungry-small portions, big price........my water was good.

I came to Aiken on vacation and scouting a possible new hometown. Aiken Fish House was a good way to start this vacation. We ordered fried green tomatoes and blacked grouper bites for appetizers. We were very happy with both. The fried green tomatoes were firm with a very nice breaded. The texture was just right and the taste was great. The grouper bites were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I ordered the three catch platter with fried catfish, fried clams, and fried shrimp with cheese grits and red beans for sides. The breading on everything was very good and tasted wonderful. The cheese grits were great; however, the red beans were a little bland for my taste. I tried some local beers and enjoyed the Pawley's Island beer. We sat at the bar and the service was great. It was also wonderful watching the staff interact amongst each other. This is a really great restaurant. The facility is a modern restaurant in a strip mall. The location is great and easily accessible. There is plenty of parking.

Looking for good seafood and ambience. Well you will find at Aiken Fish House & Oyster Bar. The food came out hot and well presented. Well worth the 30 minutes drive. Great customer service and our waitress always showed up with a big smile. Plenty of food to take home.

Ordered the shrimp tacos and hubby got the fish and chips. Shrimp tacos had a spicy ranch type sauce and were enjoyable. Husband liked his fish and chips. Service was good.

Dine in is very good. Food was great. Fried pickles is a signature dish there. Service was awesome during lunch. Get there early for dinner. It gets crowded quickly. The restaurant ambiance is more of a family type tables arrangement. Like picnic tables design. Sorry no pictures.

Great food, great service at good prices. There was a nice crowd and our server was so sweet and on point. The food was delicious, as usual. My mom did say the Low Country Boil would have been better with andouille sausage instead. The Fluff they serve with the sweet potato fries is so good. Our drinks were perfect ....

I give it a 3 because some of the food was good. My baked potato was cold, old and hard. My spouse's was good. His fish was terrible and mine was pretty good. Slaw was soupy and had no taste. Hush puppies were done.

Delicious seafood and yummy sides like cheese grits. Jean-Marie was our server and took such good care of us, even though we came in less than an hour before closing on a slow Sun. Evening. Sweet potatoes are yummy and the hushpuppies too. I always order the salmon and it's a generous serving.

FRESHHHH! The snapper was delicious, definitely recommend. Prompt service, delivery was on point and it was a big portion.

So on our first night we happened to ask a family out shopping about local places to eat... This family told us of many local places, but then a broad smile pops up on the gentleman and he says "Aiken Fish House is really good" He confessed he and his family run it and what I liked right away was his inclusion of other local owners with his restaurant offered at the end.... So night number 2 you know we went to visit House Pinot Grigio with gator bites!!! A perfect compliment I think The gator was fried crisp and juicy and tender... They had Clam Chowder that night and we split a bowl of it.... A lil bit of heat and a whole lotta hearty and chunky.. BUT THOSE HUSHPUPPIES THO You know I've never met a carb I didn't like. We also split the Fish and Chips.... Again crisp, fresh fish, flaky and moist on the inside..... fries, ahem the "chips"were yummy and great... This will be a regular for the family when they visit and they are listed on the 803fooddelivery app for those nights the gator bites sound good but your feet are already propped up and you ain't leaving the house again...

Great fresh seafood. Only place I've found real scallops in town and you can get them 3 different ways. Staff is always friendly and chatty. And service is usually pretty quick. I have had to wait a little sometimes but it's pretty much always worth the wait. Nautical themed walls are ok for atmosphere and they have a good assortment of sports on the tv's scattered around the room. Worth a try if you're looking for seafood of most any type.

This place is a great place to come for quick casual seafood. Most items can be blackened or fried. However, this is a place that has awesome breading so fried food may be the way to go. The food was great and they made some adjustments due to COVID to help with not spreading disease. I would definitely recommend for this looking for a casual seafood place and those who Love it fried

Great place. Was seated right away. About half full and got a little busier for a Wednesday night. Lacie my server was great. She told me the specials and brought out my drinks right away. Had the deep fried Snapper. From head to tail. Outstanding. Will put this on my return list.

This afternoon, I stopped in Aiken Fish House. It's a cute ambiance with a coastal feel even though it's in Aiken, no where near the coast. It was lunch rush, and I sat at the bar ordered a chardonnay and read the menu. The menu has some interesting yet simple starters like Dried Green Tomatoes, Fried Gator Tail, Fried Calamari, Fish Bites and a few more. But this Tutle Cheese Spread caught my eye so I ordered that starter before my whole fried fish came. The Turtle Chese spread was the most delicious cheese spread I've had in a long time, and you take the spread and spread some on your Hush Puppy and it is to die for and definitely on that palette seducing level of tasty goodness. I then ordered their whol fried fish of Snapper with a sweet potatoe and that was a picture worthy presentation, that I was so enamored by what I ordered that I forgot to take a picture and I dug straight into the fried snapper. Definitely my first time eating an entire fish, Fried. But it was the best experience ever. That sweet potato with a cinnamon butter was the best side dish to accompany the Snapper. My server Champagne was an absolute doll. I will definitely be back!

Food was great!!! Had trigger fish and mahi mahi with grilled shrimp. Absolutely delicious! Bartender was great to cut up and go on with plus she gave us great service, made for a great evening with friends.

Simple, friendly, priced right for the quality of seafood options. Grouper, yes please! Perfect for kids , watching some games, and to unwind. Highly recommend

Love, love, love this place. Just moved to Aiken and happened on this place. I love seafood and they don't disappoint. Really nice staff, good fresh seafood and you can pick how it is prepared. I've had a fried basket, red snapper, and crab cakes. Working my wat through the menu! All very good. Whenever I have a visitor we will be coming here for sure!

A good seafood place that has a relaxed atmosphere. It can get a little busy but that's a sign of good food. Servers are attentive and work very hard. I think the hush puppies are great. Cooked to a little crisp outside. Food is consistent and good.

I've eaten here several times with friends and the food has always been good. The service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is laid back, the prices are decent, and I find it to be great place for lunch and good conversation with friends.

Stopped last night for dinner. I got the shrimp and grits. It was good but they do not put sausage in this dish! Grits were abundant but few shrimp. My partner had the teriyaki salmon on rice and said it was very good. Sat at the bar and it was great! I would recommend it but keeping in mind the portions are now smaller.

This is my first time visiting this restaurant. I was greeted when I entered and almost seated immediately. The waitress (Brooklyn) had a mask on. Appetizers: Fried green tomatoes (7) and Grilled fish bites The fried green tomatoes are great. They weren't to hard or too soft. They were fried and seasoned just right. The fish bites were seasoned very well and the sizes weren't small. I will definitely order both of these appetizers again. Entrees: Fried shrimp with red beans and rice and French fries: The fried shrimp was flavorful, they were a great size also. The rice was lumpy, mushy and NO flavor. It wasn't fresh rice at all. I will not order this again. The French fries were fresh and the salt was evenly distributed. Crab cakes with Mac and collards: Could not tell at all that I was eating a crab cake. Didn't have great flavor at all. The Mac and cheese is not homemade. It's a nasty brand boxed Mac and cheese. I would've preferred velvetta boxed Mac and cheese over this crap. The collards were okay weren't the worse. The flavor was okay. Blackened shrimp tacos with cheese grits and hush puppies: I like how they toasted the flour shell. The shrimp was good in flavor. I would recommend to ask for light lettuce. Because boy do they pile it on . Kinda was confused on if I was eating a taco or a salad. The cheese grits were not lumpy but I prefer more flavor in my grits. Wouldn't get them again. The hush puppies were just ok, I have had better. Service: There is major room for improvement. Our waitress didn't clear out our empty plates from our appetizers. It was left on the table our entire time. After our meal was delivered she never came and asked if we needed anything or if everything was okay. Our drinks were emptied half way thru our meal and never Refilled. I would recommend more interaction with guest. When she finally came to check on us, we were done eating. I think the staff needs to check on the patrons thru out the meal. COVID: I noticed the cook didn't have his mask on correctly. He didn't have his nose covered. The bathroom did have soap, paper towels and tissue. However it did NOT have ANY hot water. How are the staff and patrons killing the germs without HOT water. Yes I ran the water for over a minute and it didn't even get Luke warm.

This is the worst meal I've had in years. Broiled flounder was a grey, sodden mess with the texture of watery instant mashed potatoes coated in oil and more water. Collards tasted mostly of sugar (why does anyone put sugar in greens?). Broccoli was over cooked and also no spice or anything. The Westbrook draft was good, so one star ....

AFH&OB is great for fresh fish cooked in a variety of ways. I like the availability of raw oysters (market priced) although it can get pricey one day to next. Staff is most accommodating and knowledgeable. Their key lime pie is as good as it gets. The menu shows Crab soup but I've been there several times.over the last year and it wasn't being served.

Gator bites were great! Was here on business and will definitely come back! Hush puppies were great too!

Stopped by in our way to Atlanta and had a delicious fresh seafoods basket for 2. Freshest oysters, shrimp, clams, and grouper fillets with hush puppies and fries. Couldn't eat it all! Don't miss this if you are close by.

The shrimp is amazing. Clams here are better than anywhere else. Also, the beer is nice and cold.

Great shrimp and grits, scallops and fried clams. We sat at the bar, it was a Wednesday afternoon. Waitress was helpful, informative and great! Being from MD, seafood is our life! We will be back! Just wish the crab cakes did not have peppers in them. Otherwise, great place for casual dining, date night, celebrations, it will be out to go place in Aiken.

This place is convenient Lu located in the first pocket shopping area in south Aiken. The staff is friendly and the menu varied. You order at the cashier stand as you enter, seat yourself and, soon, very soon your order is delivered to your table. They have a good selection of beers, so coming in thirsty is OK. Weekend nights are very busy. You may want to try them for lunch first.

Stumbled upon this place by accident, but definitely will be back. Great fish selection and great food. Actually had the shrimp and grits special which was wonderful.

If you come here and don't get fish and shrimp you are missing out !!! Excellent food and service !! Great place to grub!!

We were passing through on the way to the beach. This food was better than some we had at the beach. Try the fried corn or shrimp tacos!
