Let me preface this review by saying, this is my favorite brand in SoHo. I had not visited this store since the remodel and I really like how they’ve changed the space. There was a 2.5 hour wait when we got there! It was at least partially do to the Porsche collab drop that was happening. They had all the ALD Porsches from years past lined up on the street at the event. We were so lucky to get to see them while we were there. If you are in NYC and looking for a truly unique boutique and a full SoHo experience, check this place out!

Dang this place is beautiful. Surprised and not surprised at the reviews that I read through. The company itself and the designer are very cool. We were really looking forward to visiting the store on our weekend in New York trip and it did not disappoint. I was inspired by all of their decor and pieces. Was it a little pretentious? yes. Did we have to wait about an hour to get in? Yes. The people that work there are not the most helpful but also we were happy to be left alone and just browse. The guy that rang us up was super cool. I wish I remembered his name. But anyway, he definitely finished off our experience on a high note. While we waited, we had a coffee and hung out outside At their cafe tables while the drizzle. Very New York experience through and through.

bought a t shirt here today but had the worst experience. black guy in dreads near the changing room gave unnecessary attitude. had a t shirt in hand in my size and asked to try it on at the fitting room. guy told me to put it back on display. i said it’s my size and he repeated himself and told me to put it back with attitude. even uniqlo staff wouldn’t tell me to put a shirt back on display. if i made it that far to the back of the store with a t shirt that’s already a failure in customer service. i didn’t put it back btw. bought the shirt anyways but in hindsight i shouldnt have. ald is one of my favorite brands and coming from canada i specifically went to soho for it. i’ve spent 3k+ over the last few years at ALD, i love the clothes but i wont forget this experience when i look at my ALD pieces. if you want the same trash treatment give them a visit. competitors like kith and even supreme had staff with 10x better attitude. disregard boutique brands, even fast fashion employees have better discipline.

The ALD store on Mulberry is worth checking out even if you aren't a fan of their clothing. The boutique is part gallery, atelier and clubhouse which blends New York streetwear with mid century Mediterranean couture. Items here are beautifully curated throughout such as the vintage Porsche 911 (near the front), wall of carefully deflated basketballs, Air Jordans and a full showcase featuring vintage luxury watches. Greek chocolate candies can also be found in bowls placed strategically throughout the store. Guests are encouraged to linger and browse and try on pieces and it doesnt feel as pressured and rushed as other streetwear retailers. I would note that there is typically a waitlist to get in, so put your name down and walk around the area. You usually will get a ping around 40-50 minutes after.

ALD has a cool vintage vibe with wooden accents, mid-century furniture, a Porsche 356 at the entrance, and vintage sneakers on display. You scan a QR code to join the queue, which moves pretty quickly even on weekdays. Staff are busy but efficient — just ask anyone nearby for your size, and they’ll quickly bring it to the fitting room. You can try up to three pieces at a time. The flexible, flowing workflow keeps the store organized without feeling stuffy. Definitely a unique shopping experience.

I’m glad I decided to give the waitlist a try, which was only about 15 minutes when I was there on a Monday afternoon. It was on my list because the interior design is stunning with a lot of dark wood, brass, and considered lighting on the moody side. I was pleasantly surprised with the products inside: well tailored and shaped clothing, some nice jewelry, accessories, and related products. This might become a standard “to visit” each time I visit the city. The customer service was OK—I can see how some people may run into issues and we were quoted $250 for an earring, but then once we got up to the counter to pay it was $750...we checked the website later and the price WAS $250, which led to some annoyance and frustration, especially since we were visiting the city and it isn't easy to return. For what it's worth my cashier was particularly friendly and thoughtful.

Cool Store - very friendly employees who immediately helped with me size and fitting. Although we had to wait and sign up for a waiting list eventhough the store was empty and there was NO cue.

I waited almost an hour to get into this store because I was really looking forward to visiting. Most of the staff acted a bit too cool or aloof, but once you talked to them, they were generally friendly. Up until then, everything was fine. But the checkout experience completely ruined it for me. I asked for a Large size of the padded vest, and the blonde female staff member with big eyes (slightly chubby) handed it to me. I tried it on, confirmed I wanted to purchase the Large, but she made the whole process feel like it was a bother to her. Her attitude was noticeably unfriendly. After I said, “I’ll take the Large,” she told me to “wait here,” and then left me standing there for a long time with no explanation. When I finally asked how much longer I should wait, she gave me a really annoyed look and said, “Go to the counter,” in the most dismissive tone. That alone was enough to ruin the mood — but what happened next was even more unbelievable. After paying and leaving the store, I opened the shopping bag and realized that she put a Medium inside a bag labeled Large. The sticker on the bag said Large, but the actual item inside was Medium. I personally tried on the Large and clearly told her that’s what I was buying. A mistake like this, on top of her attitude, completely destroyed the experience. Please don’t diminish the value of the brand or the people who make these clothes with your attitude and careless mistakes. The store atmosphere, the product, everything had potential, but one staff member’s behavior turned the whole experience into a disappointment. I won’t be returning.
