Ainsworth's Fish & Chips

Absolutely delicious fish and chips! The batter was light and crispy, the fish fresh and full of flavor, and the chips perfectly cooked. The portions are generous and great value for money. Friendly staff and quick service made the experience even better. A must-visit spot in Caernarfon if you’re looking for traditional fish and chips done right!

Bit of a wait for food but its definitely worth it! There's only a wait as its the best fish and chips going and clearly most people think the same! Lovely!! and if you have a short walk you can eat it with a lovely view. Just watch out for seaguls!

I was told not much is perfect, but that their fish and chips are. Spot on! I tried their haddock and it was delicious — slightly sweet, moist and flakey on the inside, perfect crisp on the outside. Do eat it quick though for the best experience, as is the nature of fried foods. The small portion of chips is plentiful, and more than enough to feed two. The purveyors are friendly and give a good chat, cheers to great customer service!

Coming from Canada, this was my first Fish & Chips abroad. Fantastic!!! Serving size was well worth the price. Staff were very friendly. Would absolutely recommend!

Bought 3 standard cod, chips and mushy peas.. was waiting about 20 minutes it was a bit busy but boy o boy if you want the best fish chips and peas in Caernarfon come here 😋

Might be the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Craig made the experience! Took me behind the counter and showed the whole process from batter to oil temp! Fish came out flaky and fresh, chips were incredible! And the scampi hit the spot! Curry sauce also slapped ass 10/10 would recommend, great people and better fish

First time eating from here in about 20 odd years. Ordered 'normal' cod and small chips, wasnt expecting much in the way of chips, but the portion was substantial and chips were very tasty (considering they're cooked in veg oil), but the star of the show was the cod. Its up there with the best Ive ever had, perfectly cooked and the batter was perfect! Well worth a visit!

This straight up has to be the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life. I travel to the UK a lot I have not have a place like this. Staff is amazing and the food is great.

if you decide to use this venue and you live outside the area, like on holiday I would suggest you order online as they cook to order and we had to wait 45 mins? if we had known before hand we would of gone else where but we had handed over our money and thought it would be 15 mins max

Very friendly welcome from the staff. Ordered cod, chips and mushy peas and, although we had to wait a bit (food is cooked fresh), it tasted delicious once cooked. Chose to eat on the sea front; yummy!

I went in there Saturday and after giving my order, someone else came in and ordered the same as I did. He got served practically straight away. I just walked out disgusted with this unprofessional service.

Ok, I'm American. Still and all this is as good fish and chips as I've ever had. The shop is fundamentalist with a very narrow selection but the fish is terrific, perfectly crispy on the outside, moist and flaky on the inside. Of particular note are the chips again, perfectly crispy on the outside and not soggy on the insidel. The owners run the shop (sorry, can't remember their names, Ainsworth perhaps?) are friendly and helpful to the confused touron. Minimal seating area but it is a takeaway and I was alone so it worked. Great place.

Being from the US, I admittedly don't know much about fish and chips, but this was the best we had on our trip about the UK. Wonderful service as well
