How to Explore Graz's Food Scene - AFAR

"Start early with breakfast at Aiola Upstairs, where floor-to-ceiling windows and al fresco seating provide a panoramic view over the city center. Admire the clock tower, baroque steeples, and terracotta roofs, while feasting on dishes like scrambled eggs with locally sourced cheese, horseradish, and sourdough bread."

Beautiful view with a relaxing atmosphere. It's great for a short break. We got a Apfelstrudel which was great but be aware that you have to order vanilla ice cream or sauce extra and pay additionally for it.

Great place to spend a few hours (you can reserve for 2 hours), enjoy the view, and people watch. Very good service. I recommend paying to take the lift up to the restaurant unless you want a short, intense workout on the way to your meal.

Best asset is the view of the city. Being a tourist trap, the service is far from optimal. Be ready to be treated not with the highest welcoming spirit and also be ready for anything you want to take long time (10 minutes to even be acknowledged, 22 minutes to get someone to take your order, rather having to stand up and say walk to the exit to pay because no one will bring you the check). Food is standard so don’t expect anything amazing.

Visited a bakery machine supplier in Graz. They brought me to this restaurant situated on top of a hill. We took a tram up to reach the restaurant. The food is great, service is out of the world. I would like to comment the waitress who knows her wines so well. As per images I bought 4 bottles back to my house-stay. Up there, you have a sky scraper view of Graz city. This is a beautiful place of visit, not too overcrowded with tourists. The people in Graz are very kind.

I spend this year with my partner new year's eve at Aiola Upstairs and we were complettly satisfied. At first we were convinced by the cozy atmosphere and by the view over Graz. We arrived at the restaurant and we have been welcomed immediately by staff, which has been acting and working through the whole evening very profesionally. For the new year's eve you could only order the 9 course menu with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage pairing. We loved the food, the taste and the look of each course have been fantastic. Another thing to highlight was the wine pairing. Each wine was carefully choosen for each course and it has been always a match. At midnight we could enjoy the view from above the skyline of Graz and we had a drink to celebrate the new year. In conclusion I reccomend to every couple, to visit Aiola Upstairs for the new year's eve dinner.

The service is disgusting! We came in a group of 6 people to have some drinks. We sat down at the tables in the center of the room and ordered. Initially, we were going to move to another table when it became free to enjoy the view. We asked the waiter about this option when the guests were leaving the neighboring table. The waiter allowed us to move. But when we moved, another waiter ran up to us and started telling us first that the table was only for four (although a minute ago 6 people were sitting at this table), and then said that the table was already booked and asked us to move back. We refused and left. You come to a cafe to relax and pay for food and relaxation. And not to follow the orders of incompetent employees. I strongly do not recommend this cafe

Yelp
Amazing food. The sea bass was fresh and soft, amazing hollandaise, and lovely atmosphere. The views are unmatched. The people are also so kind and caring. They made it feel so much like eating at home With the amazing hospitality.

Yelp
So... I'm pretty easy to please but this place was a bit much to tolerate. I sat for a good fifteen minutes before I was even attended. It wasn't crowded, so I'm not sure how I was constantly overlooked. But the service was great once I did receive service. The soup was decent but the dessert was absolutely amazing! And the coffee was delicious. Of course the view isn't too bad either... but you don't have to eat at this restaurant for the view. I'm giving this place three stars not because of the service but because of how my waiter was treated by her coworkers! The weather changed within ten mins and I asked if I could be seated inside. And she said of course! So I moved inside and she continued to serve me inside... but I watched as the other people inside were upset with her that she did this and even mocked her behind her back. I wasn't the only one who saw this, everyone around me saw it. It was disgusting! I don't know if they were managers or not but how embarrassing for your staff to behave like that. I hope she quits and finds a better job where she's appreciated! Because the sea cows she works with are worthless and were not friendly at all. I enjoyed my experience... but the staff can do better....

Yelp
A mountain top cafe/bar with a beautiful view of the Clock Tower nearby and a 360' view of the city, Graz. The refreshments and service are excellent. The restaurant does have limited hours and will close due to inclement weather, including windiness.

Yelp
Dies ist ein großer Brunch Ort I went to this restaurant for brunch on a Saturday and it was spectacular. The views are great, the food is really fresh and good. I would make sure to make reservations for this place as it is quite a trip from down the hill!
